Fair Job, Day 2 - Tearful Departures
This morning, my sister Robin left for Linfield College in Oregon. The whole time leading up to the actual departure wasn't so bad; I was too busy getting ready for work and Mom, Dad and Robin were also preparing to leave.
But then, right before we both had to go, we hugged goodbye, and that's when I broke down. I was crying for quite awhile, even after they had left.
It's really hard. Even right now, as I'm typing this. Oh, we'll definitely talk. A lot. Through cell phones and emails. But still, tis a big difference from actually having the person there.
Beginning of work was a little sucky, cause I was still so sad about Robin. Otherwise, the rest of the day's duties were pretty much the same. I luckily got to sit down in the shade under the gazebo quite often, since we have plenty of ticket sellers. Good thing too, since my arms were burning yet again.
-_- Gosh, no matter how much sunblock I put on... it's because of my dermatologist-prescribed things, they make me burn even easier than I did before. Just thought I'd inform y'all 'bout that little fact.
I've pretty much decided that tomorrow, I'm wearing a (light) long-sleeved shirt under my Fair one. I will not be able to survive much longer otherwise.
Anyway, one interesting event happened today. Because the whole slogan of the Fair this year is "Be Somebunny!" (trust me, it's always lame every year) the Fair decided to try and break the world record for longest bunny hop. I didn't even find out about it till today. They were passing out free bunny ears, news vans were there, all that good stuff. I didn't actually go (too tired or too lazy, you decide), but some of the other lot workers did.
And apparently, the Fair's endeavors paid off. They were able to get something like over 2000 people to line up and do the bunny hop for 5 minutes. Yeah, woohoo...
That's it then. Got home, ate dinner, called Robin, decided to stay home from iaido, took a shower, and voila! Here I am! :P
Only 10 days left now. *crosses fingers*
