Dear stupid person...
Here's my sister's response to the letter in the last post:
"I was absolutely appalled by the letter that one of your readers sent in about overweight people.
Firstly, America does everything to avoid "endorsing" obesity. Apparently this girl does not pay attention to the media, because it clearly tells people that if they're not skinny, they're unattractive and unappealing.
Secondly, it's quite ignorant of her to assume that just because someone is overweight, it means that they're not exercising or eating healthy. Case in point; my best friend is a size two, but she eats whatever she wants and never exercises. Whereas I am a big girl, yet I exercise intensely five days a week and am currently on a diet. Despite my best efforts, I will never be a thin person. It's all about genes. You can inherit obesity from your parents, grandparents, etc. just as you can inherit a small body type. Contrary to her remarks, being overweight is a body type and because it's in your genes, exercise and dieting will only fix so much. Considering how hard I have to work just to maintain my body weight, I have a right to be put out if I can't find clothing in stores or magazines that fit me. I may be a big girl, but I like to dress stylish and feel pretty, just like any other thin girl my age. "Caitlin" made overweight people sound inhuman, that we shouldn't be seen or heard. The next time she decides to make derogatory comments about obese people, she had better take into account family genetics, and remember the fact that thin does not equal healthy."
Heh, couldn't have said it better myself
(NOTE: "Caitlin" is the name of the girl who wrote the "fat people suck" letter.)
Anyway, on a different note...
I downloaded a free trial-basis GIF animating program (my, that's a mouthful!). I must give thanks to banzaiinu1 for posting the link on her myOtaku site. ^_^
My computer's being dumb though, so I haven't been able to use it just yet. But, once I do, I'll post any good GIFs I end up making! v^.^
Also, I'll make some wallpapers later today (as in June 3rd). But for now, tis late and still the 2nd where I am, so it'll just have to wait til later.
Ta then!
~God Bless~ |
