Chah.
Turns out I won't be taking tomorrow off for my birthday, I have 3 tests that day I'd rather not make up later. Maybe Thursday. Cause I hate school and really want a day off.

And did I mention what happened at Wal-Mart on Sunday? I was walking along the checkout area looking for one with a short line and some guy said he liked my shirt (it says 'Umbrella Corporation', you know, from Resident Evil). I said thanks, laughed politely, and walked off. He followed me. He talked about the game, the movie, Silent Hill, and stayed behind me the whole time.
I turned and walked off to find my mom and we got in line. About 30 seconds later he got in line right behind us and proceeded to do other slighty odd things.

Just more incentive not to go off by myself, I guess.

Da da da...
So today my dad took us all the way down to Cameron. It's been about 6 months since Rita and the place is wiped out. Holly Beach is gone, not one house is left. Garbage is everywhere! There were mile long stretches where houses used to be and all that's left are bits of wood and matresses and stuff. It's sad, really. And even when the hurricane had just happened no one seemed to care about the places down here that got hit the hardest, all you heard about was New Orleans (which is what, 200 miles from where Rita hit?) and Beaumont and Houston.

We saw lots of gators too. The hurricane must have been great for them, I've never seen so many! Dozens were in the ditches and along the sides of the road. I saw dolphins when we crossed on the ferry too, that was pretty cool.

So all in all an exciting day! Too bad tomorrow's Monday...

Another weekend!
So... my birthday is in like, 4 days! Sweet 16! At least I hope it's sweet. I can tell you one thing though; there sure as hell ain't gonna be a new car in that driveway on Wednesday.
*is still bitter that she can't drive yet*

So aside from all my shallow bitterness, nothing new. We had a concert in band. I suck singularly, but all together we were freaking awesome. And the Graduation Exit Exams (the GEE? Who came up with that acronym?) are in two weeks. Unnnngh.

School tomorrow.
My tongue got cut, it's painful. Something's wrong with my ankle again, now I have to go back to the guy that did my surgery. We have a concert in band that I am completely unprepared for. I vaguely remember having homework this weekend... I don't think I'm going to do any of it.
I don't feel all that great right now, I'm starting to think I'm catching what everyone else has.

So to make me happier (and because I miss having a pic of him on my site), Kobayashi!

That does make me feel better! But where does he put it all? Where?

Mardi Gras
I had a great time at the parade I went to yesterday! For once we were next to some funny, nice people. (As opposed to last year when a grown woman knocked me to the ground to get a cheap plastic cup.) We shared beads and laughed a lot and I was protected from mild head injuries more than once by the tall guy behind me. (Those float people really put some muscle into the stuff they throw!)

And... I got an email from the University of Chicago! I know it's stupid to be so excited over a generic email they probaby send to tens of thousands of people, but I would love love love to go there! That made my day good again.

Four day weekend!
And I've got that I'm in Love With a Stripper song stuck in my head. It also lead to a very awkward moment in class when I started mouthing the words without realizing it.

Yeah. Other than that...
My civics teacher quit. This moring he came to school, took his posters and flags and lamps, turned in his keys and left. Completely out of nowhere! Yesterday was so normal, we had a test next week and a worksheet on the Gitlow hearing, and today he's gone. Weird, eh?

I'm so busy. So incredibly busy and it's all cause of school! They're working us like sled dogs... or those ones that herd sheep. But at least I get Monday and Tuesday off for Mardi Gras.

Brrr...
Okay, it is cold. So very, very cold. I don't know what's screwing with the temperature down here but a week ago the temp just dropped like crazy, I thought I was about to turn into a Cassie-sicle in class today.

And we're watching Gattaca in biology! One of my new favourite movies ever. I especially love the real Jerome, I've never enjoyed a school-movie as much as this one. (I'm also pretty surprised that our teacher showed it to us, seeing as other teachers will only let us watch G movies.)

Saturday, yay!
Yesterday I bought a furry pink pillow! I like it. It reminds me of a large, furry, pink guinea pig. Sweet, huh?

I've been awful tired lately. I've been in a bad mood too. See, all year long I've made nothing but A's in algebra 2 but then my amazing teacher delivered her baby and had to take leave. Ever since the new substitute teacher got here my grade has dropped from above 90 to 76.

And I finally got my yearbook today. That's right. My school is so freaking retarded that we didn't get last year's yearbooks till February of the next year. And all the seniors I knew are already gone...
