Ah, I'm conflicted. I'm happy cause I'm listenign to good music, sad cause my parents are mad at me, happy cause it's storming outside, sad cause school is bad right now, and sad cause I lost a semi-friend. He was obsessively chrushing on one of my best friends, and she told him 'Hell no, ain't gonna happen' (I paraphrased a little). So now he avoids all of us as well as her. It's too bad, he had lot's of good music to listen to. He was the one that got me into Nonpoint and Boston and everything so... I feel kind of sympathetic for him, you know?

And I suck in band. I don't know how many times I've said that, but it doesn't seem to be enough yet.

Not much...
Yeah. Life is so slooooow. Except for band, everything's going smoothly.

And my parents have apparently decided that when I say "No, I've got homework and need to practice and have to take a shower" I'm really saying "Yes, I'd love to babysit". Cause that's how they're treating me. I've babysat everyday since Saturday. Do I get paid? No. Do I get thanked? No. Do I get yelled at when I fail tests in band because I can never practice while watching an evil toddler? Hell yes.

If I wanted to spend all my spare time taking care of a baby I'd go get pregnant. They made her, they can watch her every once in a while.

Thus ends my unreasonable and biased rant.

Another boring day.
My sister's sick and I think I'm getting it too. Blech. I also have to go back to the doctor that did my surgery for a follow up thing. He's kinda creepy. I don't want to go, I really don't.

And I don't know if I've said this before, so I'll just make sure. I'm very lazy and forgetful. If I ever don't visit your site or something for a long time just tell me to, okay? Just wanted to put it out there.

And Mardi Gras season is starting! Whoooooo!
I don't know if that's a big deal where y'all live, but here it's the biggest! They let us keep our Mardi Gras holidays even after all the damage Rita did, so I'm happy. I think it's the 28th this year, so I hope everyone gets that off too! Or at least that you see some good parades.

And I just had King Cake! Yum.

A one day weekend?
Wow. This entire day was spent practicing, practicing, changing into my band uniform, practicing, and performing. Yup. So Sunday's gonna be my first day off, really. We did fairly well in our concert, I bonded with my band mates, I met other band people from other schools (even a few from our arch rival high school) and I got a patch for my letterman's jacket! Sweet, huh?

And for all my hard work during midterms, I got three books! The Zombie Survival Guide, Circus of the Darned, and Only the Ring Finger Knows (sooo good).

And sadly, I just realized that today was probably the last time I ever got to wear my band unifrom. This is my last year here, and it makes me sad. I shouldn't have to start being all nostalgic and mopey till I'm a senior! Moving sucks.

Sorry, that was kinda random.

Surprised once again!
I went to honor band today, and it was completely NOT awful! It was the exact opposite of what I expected it to be. I had a great time, I'm so happy I made it. I don't think I've ever been so happy to be wrong.

(I was also involved in a conversation about pimps, ho's, and big feathers. I got called a ho.)

And it's the weekend! Have a good one.

Again?
Yeah... so, we had another bomb threat today. That makes for two in just a month or so. Only this time, they made the entire school go out into the stadium and sit outside on the cold, hard bleachers for 40 minutes.
And while we were sitting there, one brave (and possibly insane) senior tried to entertain us by starting a wave. He ran down the bleachers and got everyone going, and when the wave started to die down he took off to the next section and screamed at us, "You're not doing it right! Stand up and scream!" Then he threw his arms up and showed us how it was done. Very cool. And he's now immortalized as "That Wave Guy".

Hump day again!
My friend gave me a CD with the Nine Inch Nails song Closer on it, and it's my newest guilty pleasure.
And I got a 92 on my Free Ent. midterm and a 90 in algebra II! Go me, I rule.

I'm even watching Project Runway right now, and Jay is judging! So happy. Aside from the impending doom that is honor band, I'm doing splendidly and hope y'all are too!

This week is sucktastic.
To the extreme!
Had to fit that in somewhere...

So yeah. I suck in band right now, my first midterm exam is tomorrow, and there is way too much drama amongst my friends and aquaintances right now.

And just for the sake of being random, this is what my band is like:

"This piece has a really great effect, but only if you all shape the lines together. Do this right and the crowd will love you."
"Love us? How much?"
"They'll throw babies at you!"

"I can't play it!"
"Cassie, this stuff is easy..."
"I know, that's why I'm so angry that I can't play it!"
"That's angry?"
"Yes, this is me angry."
"But... it's so cute!"

"Three-fourths of the music we're playing this year will be this style."
"... That's 75%!"
"You're doing good with percentages this year."

School is unpleasant.
I'm a good student. And I'm actually pretty good with numbers math like Algebra II, but now I'm worried. I can do everything well enough right after I learn it but I can't remember how to do the stuff we just finished a few weeks ago! How on earth will I pass the midterm?
*Hopes for divine intervention*

Lafayette was less fun than expected, but I won't bore you with details.

And I tried taking my picture today! The problem is that my giant, old, crappy camera only has two settings: flash-OFF and flash-ON. One is so dark you can only see my outline against the white walls, the other is so bright it makes my face look like a white oval with hair and eyebrows. Why can't technology just work with me for once?

And thus the weekend ends. Be strong, it's only 5 more days till the next one.
