Myxomatosis.
Mood: Decent.
Music: Radiohead-Street Spirit (Fade Out)
I didn't decide to go to our Homecoming game last night, I wasn't feeling up to it. But I had paid for my $10 Johnny Homes ticket, so I decided I should go to it. Before I left, my Dad and Brother and Grandpa decided they were going to the movie, and I still decided just to go to the dance.
I took a shower. Gelled up my hair. Brushed my teeth. Washed my face. All that good stuff. Then it was time to go.
When I got there, Ryan Dosch, the person I'd done my video thing with for history was there. We talked about the game, and I gleaned from him that we'd lost against The Midgets (the team we played against) and other things. Then, finally, he took the purse of his girl he called his "finace" and took me over to her. She was a sophomore from Bismarck High School (I go to CHS, as does Dosch). It was really, funny, too. Dosch is about 6-something, and the little Sophomore girl named Sara, his finace, came up to about Dosch's very lower torso.
After following Dosch around for a while longer and other such things, I went right next to the speakers, and right by the Johhny Holmes band.
They played all cover songs, much to my surprise. I thought they were actually going to play...songs of their own Needless to say, all of the songs they did weren't as good as the actual songs they covered. Most were quite worse, in my opinion. Probably because they played mostly country of all things...BLEH. I can't stand country. Yet I still stood by the speakers the entire time.
The band consisted of four people, I believe. One person on keyboards, who had shaved, bald head. Johnny himself on vocals. A girl wearing a tight white shirt that said, "SEXY BIOTCH," on it. She did vocals and guitar. There was also a tall, young man that somewhat reminded my of shaggy that played fiddle, guitar, and vocals. Then there was this final man. He appeared to be about Johhny's age, and he did most of the guitar solos and some of the vocals. Ah, and there was also the drummer, who I couldn't really get a good look at.
So I stood there, adn listened. They played covers of a lot of country songs, as I said, which I couldn't stand. Then they did that one, "The smile on your face lets me know that you need me..." song. That was actually decent. They just had the female vocalist sing it all and mellowed down everything. It was great.
Me and Scott (another person I know somewhat from school) put our arms on each other's shoulders and swayed back and forth, as everyone else, and sang the song. He was all, "You know the lyrics smitchell?" heh.
I also wore my tight Pink Floyd shirt that I wear a lot of the time. Holmes even saw me and was all, "Pink Floyd. Yeah. That's a good band."
I gave him a thumbs-up. It was pretty cool. After this, they played that one "Jack and Diane" song by Mellencamp, I think? That was a decent cover.
Eventually, they took a break. So I just sat on the stage, trying to get an even better spot.
When they came back, I ended up getting pushed back even farther. They played more covers of crappy country, and then eventually Chelsea came over to me. Supposedly, she late told me, she had wanted me to hang out with her the entire dance. And we'd decided to go together. I just didn't want to look for her in the clumps of people everywhere. But she did find me.
We stood by the speakers a while longer, then finally couldn't stand it anymore, so we went out into the commons area.
Once there was moseyied about, and then finally went back in. They started playing some song that I'd never heard with that female vocalist singing. Chelsea asked me to dance with her and so I did. It was nice of her to be so nice to me heh. She kept saying I was here all alone and things. Well, I just feel really embarassed if I dance, since I remember way back in 8th grade in Medora Adam, Ryan, and other people had made fun of me, so I'd never done it again.
After the slow dance, we went back into the commons and told me how she had gotten a story. She had been in pageant class, and a speaker that had burned his legs in the war in Iraq was there. She had seen that as a good story, and grabbed the person after and done an interview. She laughed at me since I still have this crappy story about cookies.
Then I met another person which was a transfer student from germany. It was kind of funny, since Chelsea and her looked so alike heh.
We joked around a while longer. Chelsea pointed out that you could see the Germany girl's underwear sticker, and she said you have to, it's just the style, or something to that extent.
Also, Chelsea mentioned that her "stalker" had asked her to prom. It's basically just this one kid that follows her around; he even went to the movie night thing with her, and sat with her and such. I asked her if she'd said no, and said she better have, since she was going to go with me. She said she'd said no.
Then the Germany girl (sorry, I don't know her name, otherwise I would say it...) said it'd be so much better to go with me. I said yes, it would, and that I wouldn't even wear a tux.
Johhny Holmes even played horrid covers of "Teen Spirit" and other songs. And it also funny, too. He'd put his mike to soem crazily dancing girls, and they'd just scream into the mike, making it sound like some dysfunctional kid choir.
I was glad when the show was over. I only had fun because of Chelsea really.
