Craftworld Miel'sha - chapterXIII
Well, another crappy day. My civics teacher yelled at me in front of the class for doing absolutely nothing. I HATE her sooo MUCH!!!!!!
The battle at the foot of the doors raged on, but the eldars numbers were dwindling. The chaos marines and muties kept on coming. All the guardians were dead, and the rangers had luckily managed to find a high perch in the cave wall from which to fire. They only had a few clips of ammo left, and their grenades were long gone. The numbers of the chaos force had certainlt thinned, but there were only 3 rangers left, and just as they were about to be overwhealmed, Al'thae charged in swinging the black sword. A marine was cut down, but instead of merely being hacked in two, his armor started to chip away exposing his flesh. Then that started to peel away, until his flesh was gone and his muscle peeled away. His screams echoed throughout the cave, until he was reduced to a pile of bones.
"Not a very pleasant way to go." thought Shiek. The 3 rangers fired their weapons into the hord, cutting down many dozens. Many limbs were severed, and the stumps they used to be attached to were gushing blood. Heads flew of, with some vertebrae still attached to them. The shuriken ammo yet again ripped through more chaos, And Al'thae continued his rain of death. These skills were not his own though, as the sword seemed to be doing most of the work. The body count was so high, that it was impossible to step on the ground without stepping on a corpse. You couldn't even see the cave floor anymore. But they just kept coming, and it seemed that the Eldar would be overwhelmed. Then more shots could be heard, but they were coming from the back. Shiek looked over the chaos marines and muties to see the shimer of blades, and muzzle flashes, but not from chaos weapons.
"What's going on back there?" She thought. The clash on the other side started to get closer, and one of the rangers spotted a howling banshee, and a striking scorpion. Then more. These Eldar aspect warriors were extremely skilled in close qaurters fighting. The two aspect squads were even led by exarchs. They pummeled through the chaos, massacring anybody that got in there way. The screams of the falling chaos warriors was heard by all, as their skulls were crushed by weapon butts. The heads smashed down, bits of skull protruding from the helmet, with fresh blood oozing down them... The battle had definetly turned to their favor. The two aspects worked very well together, and combined with the might of Al'thae's sword, could not be beat. The few remaining marines were circled, and slaughtered like animals.
"Where have you come from?" asked Shiek.
"We are from Craftworld Ulthwe outsider, and seek the artifact that he holds." said the striking scorpian exarch.
"How does everybody suddenly know of this sword?" asked Al'thae.
"We raided an Imperial cruiser, and found some documents containing info on this. How did a guardian manage to come to an abandoned world like this?" he asked Al'thae. "My Craftworld was destroyed, and I am the only survivor from my escape pod."
"I see... Come with us, we shall take you to our Craftworld."
"What of these rangers?"
"No, they have been banished from their Craftworld, and may not return to it, or any other."
"Do not worry Al'thae, we have lived here for years, and shall continue to do so." said Shiek. They all walked out of the cavern, and emerged to see the aspect squads dropships, and many destroyed chaos dropships.
"You must hurry with us to our Crafworld, for it battles a chaos fleet above." said the Exarch.
"But surely there must be some way that my friends here can come."
"I already explained that they had been banished, and may not return to any Craftworld anywhere."
"Then, I shall bid them my farewell. Shiek, it was a pleasure to fight with you and your rangers."
"Thank you very much. You have purged this planet of the enemy, and there is no measure of gratitude that I can give you for that. May we meet again."
"Yes, I do this with a heavy heart, but I must go. Goodbye, my friends."
The ramps of the dropships opened, and Al'thae climed on. He waved goodbye to the rangers, and the ramp slowly closed, until he could see them no more. He buckled himself into one of the seats, and the dropship took of back to the craftworld.
Shiek watched it leave, and once she could see it no more, she and the two other rangers walked back into the forrest. Shiek would live out her life hoping that one day, some more of her kind would come to this planet. And Al'thae started his training as a farseer, and would one day become the greatest of them all...
striking scorpions and howling banshees:
these are a couple aspects of the Eldar warriors. They adopt the fighting stlye of a certain creature, and use it in their weaponry or fighting style. The eldar aspects are:
striking scorpians
howling banshees
swooping hawks

dire avengers

guardians
Well, that's the end of my story. How'd ya like it? I thought it turned out pretty well. So now i'll take a break from storys for a while, and write regular posts, but you never now when the idea for a great story might pop into my head... |
