Yosh!

And THIS Monkey survives her Thursday *^_^*

Although my interview for the hospital internship on Thursday could’ve been better – I have absolutely NO regrets. I did the best I could, and remained true to myself. What you see and hear, is what you get ^^;; Out of the 5 people who interviewed me, I knew that I had the favoring of 1 – my previous professor & the same guy who let me volunteer at the hospital 2 years ago. This guy is Joe, and he’s such a wonderful and nice man *^_^* Ah well. It’s done. It’s the past. I did my best, and I shall now move on. *^_^* I have approximately a 2/7 chance of getting the position ^^;;

Monkey Orange wraps up her strange & disjointed school week:
It’s been quite the odd week for me. First, was my sheer mental exhaustion from the weekend seminar, and then of course, skipping class on Tuesday. And then my unsuccessful attempts at beginning my herbal project, and then going home on Wednesday, and of course, my interview on Thursday. Phew!

I will return to campus today [Friday] for class. I figured that since I already skipped out on Tuesday, that perhaps it’s best that I actually showed up on Friday – and also that the classes on Friday is something that NO sane pharmacy student should miss out on ^^;; I also need to gather up some journal articles for my herbal project.

LASTLY, I plan to conclude this school week by going to an actual Tea Party! Yep, Monkey Orange will be having tea at 4:00pm at an actual Tea House downtown. I feel…British *^_^*

P.S.
As you may have noticed, I made a few changes to my site. I reverted the colors back to the original blue & orange *^_^* My avi also changed from the blushing Gwendal of Kyou Kara Maou! to the 12 year-old star of Seigaku, Ryoma Echizen of Prince of Tennis. Ah yes, I uploaded a new mini. The song is called Believe from One Piece.

Enjoy.

KKM Pictures!!!

Kyou Kara Maou! I downloaded and watched episode 40 - now season 2! - and took these cute caps of the new closing sequence *^_^*

*sighs*

Even though I have no exams these 2 weeks, I will still be quite busy by compensating it with other work (>_<).

I've got an herbal presentation thingy due in 2 weeks, BUT my partner wants it done NOW because she's leaving next week to visit her boyfriend. Geez. And on top of that, my portion of the report is frustrating to complete because the information is SO hard to look for. ^^;;

There is absolutely NO way I can finish it this week. Do you know why? Well...I won't even be on campus much!

BWHAHAHHAHAHHAHA! That's right!

This Thursday I have been granted an interview for the position of hospital pharmacy intern *^_^* Yosh! And then, I'm gonna RELAX at home with my family since I didn't get to visit them in 2 weeks!

Nope. There's just NO way I'm gonna finish that stupid project thingy by this week. Nope. Nada. It ain't gonna happen. *^_^*

Aside from that, life is good. I was naughty on Tuesday. I slept in and ditched class, and ended up watching 10 episodes of One Piece 121-130. And damn, it was good! Luffy finally beat the s*** out of Crocodile and literally sent him flying! Ahh...good stuff.

Okies. Gonna wrap up my LONG Wednesday, drive home, chill, and prep up for my interview Thursday.

Wish me luck!

*hugs*

The Weekend Recap

Rabbit asks: Do I look like f****** food to you? [refer to post contents, and you will know why!]

Overall, I had a pretty good weekend *^_^* But I’m SO exhausted ^^;;

Monkey Orange & the Professional Seminar
[Aside Begin]Yeah, my Pharmaceutics exam from last Friday was icky. Blah.[/Aside End]

I went to a professional pharmacy seminar this past weekend that was held at a pretty nice ski-resort-thingy. I confess that at first I thought that attending such an event would be kinda lame. I was wrong. It was quite fun! There were a total of 8 first years, 5 second years, and about 5 third years who attended the seminar. *^_^*

So, what’s the seminar like? In a nutshell, a bunch of us students were crammed in a total of 2 condos that served as our accommodations. We were fed breakfast, lunch, and dinner at the conference centers, and during the times in between the meals, we meandered about and:

(1). Collected awesome FREE goodies from various pharmaceutical company booths. Such goodies include very nice pens, cups, clocks, calculators, shirts, candies, notepads, drug samples, and much more. (2). Networked with various pharmacy related professionals from across the state. (3). Listened to a bunch of interesting [but long] pharmacy related presentations.

A few notable notes from the seminar weekend: Want some rabbit?
-I enjoyed getting to know my classmates better. Good & amazing people.
-I lost $10 dollars playing poker [Texas Hold’em]. Poo. (>_<)

-I sat at a table with the same woman who interviewed me and rejected my application to pharmacy school the first time I applied. I had no choice but to converse with her. B****. I wonder if she still recognizes me.

-On the way back, we stopped at a very small town for snacks. There were these 2 kids [about 9 and 5] having lunch with their grandparents. The grandpa was joking around with the 9 y/o grandson, and telling him to ask me out on a date. Cute. But then…

Dialogue:
Friend, asks the kids: So, are you kids enjoying the day out with your grandparents?
Grandpa: Yep. They are helping us out in picking some rabbits, chickens, and guinea pigs.
Friend: Oh, so will you be breeding the rabbits?
Grandpa: Yep. We will be breeding them and eating them.
pause
Friend: Eating them?
Grandpa: Well, I don’t like red meat, and I’m tired of eating chicken…
Friend: Oh, so will guinea pig be on the menu too?
Grandpa: Nah, that’s her precious [points to grandma, who smiles].
Friend: Well, it was nice talking to you folks. You all have a good day.
Me: [well, I pretty much said the same thing as we left]

Outside in the parking lot, towards the car
My second friend, who met up with us in the middle of the conversation about the rabbits, was like “Wait…did he say that he was going to eat the rabbits?” My first friend replied, “Yep. He said he was going to ‘breed’em and eat’em’.” I started laughing! I turned to my friend and said, “I can’t believe you asked if guinea was on also on the menu!’”. And then all 3 laughed as we got into the car. Too funny!

And in the end…
I really enjoyed my weekend trip, even though I AM dead exhausted. *^_^* But aside from that, I am definitely looking forward to my next two exam-LESS weeks!

Another Summer-like Day

Pop Rocks. Do you remember this candy? You know, the candy that pops and fizzes in your mouth? Good stuff. I wonder if these are still sold in stores.

Ah yes, Wednesday [yesterday] was another warm, sunny, and beautiful day! And you know what? Pharmacy practice lab even finished early, too! Wow. *^_^* No complaints.

What? No exams for the next TWO weeks?
It’s true, I think. One of my colleagues informed me that we wouldn’t be having any major exams for the next TWO weeks! *breathes a sigh of relief* This is…good. On one hand, I won’t need to study like crazy, and on the other hand, I will finally have time to start researching for my herbal presentation/paper/project thingy for one of my classes. Happiness.

Also, the exam that I took last Monday [you know, the one I predicted to be a 77/100], well the score turned out to be 80/100. *^_^* Survival. Period. But…I’m still pissed about my biochemistry score, which was a 76/100. Grrr! I even went to see the grader and demanded points for a problem that I felt he graded unfairly. Alas, he would NOT budge. *hangs her head over in shame* Ah well. It’s the past.

Now, I gotta focus on studying for my next exam on Friday – the last exam before my two-week of NO exams *^_^* Tee hee, I have NO classes on Thursday, so that should give me plenty of time to study.

Field Trip?
Sort of. This Friday, myself and 9 other classmates are going out of town for an annual meeting for a professional pharmacy organization – for the entire weekend. I usually abstain from such activities, but I then again, I wanted to try something new *^_^* The annual meeting takes place at a pretty nice private ski-resort place, and will feature various pharmacy-related presentations, social events and activities. I guess I’m pretty excited to go. I love field trips!!!

Fangirl Outburst
Give me a break. I’ve been deprived of much needed bishie loving due to my insane studies. I’ve been listening to Atobe-kun’s character songs for the past few days, and felt that some attention should be given to this diva of Prince of Tennis. Roll your eyes, whatever. I am a fangirl at heart – always and forever. *^_^*

Atobe Keigo [fr. Prince of Tennis]. Atobe-kun is normally the captain of the Hyoutei Academy tennis club. In this particular cap, he is now a member of the All-Japan tennis team for the Junior assembly tournament during the summer. Mmm…nice and sweaty after his doubles match vs. the American junior high team. He won, of course *^_^*

Number 5: I think I’ve become numb to pretty much all tests results. It’s like…I don’t even want to worry anymore, you know? ^^;;

Raven8763 & Summoner Rekka: The hot guy…is married. Sad. He used to play college basketball, so he’s pretty tall and athletic, and has great fashion sense. He’s also pretty modest, so NO arrogant outbursts, or anything. WHO would have ever thought that a guy like him would even be in pharmacy school? Sexy, intelligent, and modest. *swoons* But, married. Hehe. My friend told me that she once had a dream in which she and I were stalking him. Imagine that. As if I would do such a thing. ^^;;

Hinaru: As you sort of predicted…I got an 80/100 instead of 77/100. *^_^* And yes, DOWN WITH BUYING TEXTBOOKS! Argh!!!

Mew Wem: No Trident in NZ? I am…agast! ^^;; Perhaps I’ll send you some in the future *^_^*

orangeaholic402 & animamundi: Thank you for stopping by *^_^* Life is life. It has it’s ups and downs. And in the end, Monkey Orange will try her best to survive.

Gum

This is my newest chewing gum, Trident Tropical Twist. It’s actually pretty good…despite being tropical flavored. Try it out!

So yesterday’s post was a bit long, eh? Well, when I gotta let it out, then I gotta let out ^^;; But thanks to those of you who actually read, or even skimmed through it *^_^* And today, I shall try to make the post a bit shorter.

Textbooks on Reserve
I’m a bit annoyed, again. You see, in college, a professor usually has the class textbook available ‘on reserve’ in the school library. What does that mean? It means that: a) a poor student will be granted access to the textbook without having to actually buy it [and yes, them books are damn expensive], b) a student can drop by the library to use the textbook if they forgot it at home, or c) the lazy student can use the textbook at the library w/o having to drag it around all day long because it’s SO freaking heavy.

I am the latter, choice C. So yes, I dropped by the library last night and planned on catching up on some reading but…but…the book was no longer ‘on reserve’. WTF? Horrible. I feel…betrayed. Thus, I emailed my professor about this situation. Hopefully, it will be resolved soon.

The Limit
School is unhealthy. Period. I checked out the exam answer key from Monday’s midterm and concluded that I survived. Recall from yesterday’s post that at best, I’d manage a C, and at worst would be a D or lower. Well, if my calculations are correct, I’ve managed to score a 77/ 100, though not official yet. *silence* Thank you, Lord.

But, IRONICALLY, I scored lower on my Biochem test from last Friday – yep, this was the exam that I insanely studied for AND felt that I might even have aced it. *throws her hands into the air* I…I…don’t know how much more I can handle. And it’s still my first year ^^;; School is unhealthy. Period.

The self mini essay: Looking from the other side of life
Tuesday was warm, sunny, and absolutely beautiful. I was walking around campus and noticed that there were rock bands performing outside in front of the school activity building. It was quite nice for a change. I saw people laying down and having picnics on the grass. There were also people playing Frisbee and reading. I then thought to myself, ‘you know, self, even though you attend this very school it still feels like you’re in a different world. And this world is called Pharmacy school – a school that seems separated from everything else.’

*sighs* I truly wanted to abandon my heavy backpack, run towards the grass, collapse, enjoy the music, and perhaps even nap in the sun for a bit. But, I couldn’t even though I had the choice. Instead, I faced the opposite direction and headed toward the science building to pick up my test, and then off to studying in the library. Sometimes…I hate pharmacy school.

Well, there’s also this really hot guy that sits behind me in class…so it’s not all that bad, right?

And in the end…
Yeah, it wasn’t a short post. ^^;; Gomen!

What does it mean when your shoe laces keep untying during the day, regardless of how tight you tie them?

I’ve always been curious about this creature. This is Kon from Bleach. Yep, I finally met him in episode 7. *^_^*

Greetings. School is never-ending. Thus, I shall optimize this post in case I am unable to return to a normal, near-daily posting.

Will Monkey Orange have to repeat another class?
Never. Over my dead body! I will never allow myself to retake another class next year and be surrounded by first-years, while I am supposed to be a second-year. *ahem* Needless to say, my Pharmacy Practice midterm from Monday [yesterday] was a total bomb – and I am NOT being modest (>_<).

For some reason, my brain totally died over the weekend [which was most likely due to the after effects from BioChem last Friday] and thus, my studies were unsuccessful. Crap. At best I predict a C, and at worst a D, or lower. baka, baka, baka! The darn information just wouldn’t permeate into my brain – I was SO exhausted! Mental exhaustion and lack of sleep led to this academic downfall ^^;; *sighs* On a positive note, there will still be 2 more chances [via 2 more exams] to redeem myself. Therefore, I better make it good ^^;;

Revisiting Monday: Lunch, Movie, and…and an Interview granted!
Okies. Aside from the horrid exam mentioned above, my Monday was quite nice. Strange, I know. I had a yummy Mongolian-grill-styled lunch with my friends, and later during the evening we went to watch a sappy love-story movie called A Lot Like Love -- starring Ashton Kutcher. It was very cute, and made me mostly forget about my horrid exam. *^_^* Mind you, this is a romantic comedy, but for some odd reason this chick behind us started sobbing, quite loudly too. When did this movie ever get sad? Strange.

Ah yes, and BEST of all, I found out that I have been granted an interview for the Hospital Internship position!!! Yay! I’m quite excited, and at the same, I am…scared ^^;; I really want this position. *crosses her fingers; knocks on wood; rubs the Happy Buddha’s belly*

Manga: the Turn-on and Turn-off of Sensual Phrase
I have progressed further into my smutty, romantic manga series, Sensual Phrase. All 7 volumes were deliciously read…*^_^*…and yes, I indulged all the lovey-dovey stuff, and hot stuff, too. But you know what? There were a few themes that bothered me. First, what’s up with the brother-sister complex for a few of the characters [side & supporting]? This isn’t the only series I’ve read with this theme. And to be honest, this particular theme is getting a bit repetitive and annoying.

Secondly, why is it that the girl is usually the one who makes a mistake, or experiences a really bad situation that makes her look bad, and thus usually begs forgiveness of her love interest? This theme is also getting on my nerves. As much as I enjoy reading this series, if this theme continues, then I might have to drop it. *sighs* For once, I want to see Sakuya make a mistake, and then be forced to beg Aine for her forgiveness. Geez.

Anime
As you can probably tell from the picture above, that yes, I have been indulging in some Bleach. I am currently trying to download episodes 11-12. I also plan to watch my recently successful downloads from Monday [yesterday] which include Loveless 3, Tsubasa Chronicle 3, and Saiyuki Gunlock 2. Tee hee! Saiyuki. I miss watching that show. If only, though, the Reload DVDs weren’t so darn expensive. Stupid, Geneon. Eh.

I was also able to catch the premiere of One Piece on Cartoon Network, late Saturday evening. I was kinda hoping that since it was showing later, and on a different network, that maybe it’ll be different than the version that was previously shown on FoxBox. I was wrong. It’s still quite agonizing to watch because of the cut & culturally modified scenes. It’s also quite agonizing to listen to because of, not only the voices, but that the original music is GONE and replaced with kiddish-boingy-bubbly background crap. Honestly, one of the best features of this anime is the original orchestral and nautical music. *sighs*

Lastly, I managed to catch an episode of Full Metal Alchemist -- which is definitely one of my favorite shows. HOWEVER, I still cringe when I hear Ed’s dubbed voice. I mean, Al’s dubbed voice is tolerable, but Ed’s…I still do not feel like the voice matches the character. Eh. Overall, seeing FMA is now making me want to dig into my discs and to re-watch the entire series, again. Well…perhaps later. *^_^*

In the End…
Thank for bearing with me, and for stopping by!

*gives y’all some yummy freshly made cupcakes*

Morning Constipation: the Best Way to become Frustrated, and thus Alert?
Solution: coffee. ^^;;

I simply adore Pucca. She reminds me of myself *^_^*

Update: Wednesday's Freshly made Chapstick
If there's one thing that I love most about compounding things, is that it's SO similar to cooking *^_^*

The chapstick that my group and I made during Wednesday's Pharmacy Practice lab was perfect! My professor came over, smiled, and praised us for our perfect creation. Unlike the previous abominations, or so she deemed, our masterpiece was NOT too hard, too clumpy, or just plain mushy. It was simply, perfect.

The flavor we chose for our product was Tangerine [a close relative of the orange] -- all good *^_^*

Monkey Orange vs. the Insane Week, so far
Needless to say, I haven't been getting much sleep this week. Strangely enough, though, I'm feeling okay ^^;; Here are some testing results, so far:

Pharmaceutics Midterm I [last Friday]: 88/100 - stupid mistakes, grr!

Online Prescription Drug Quiz [Tuesday]: 11/11 - piece pf cake!

Cummulative Drug Calculation Quiz [Wednesday]: 20/20 - phew!

Biochemistry Midterm I [Friday today]: feeling good, but it I still have doubts b/c it was TOO rushed ^^;;

Overall: It's not over! I still got 2 more midterms next week, and a drug quiz. Arrg!

Anime Stuff
Loveless 3 is available now, and I shall download it next week. Tee hee, I also download some scanlations of the manga too -- gonna check it out later. I also downloaded Bleach 6-10 for my sister - she totally loves this show. Hmm...I'm finishing up Blue Seed 22 - it's...okay. You know, I really want to watch more One Piece this weekend, but I don't think I have time because of studying. *sighs*

Sun Basking & Vitamin D
The weather has been absolutely wonderful! Sunny!!! I love it! At times, I feel SO at peace, that I acutally forget about all the school work I must do. Ahhh...I love THOSE rare moments of absolute tranquility. Have YOU ever experienced such moments?

Anyways, Professor lectured about the synthesis of Vitamin D via the Sun. Therefore, if it's sunny where you are at now, then go out and play!!! Otherwise...you may develop Osteomalacia ^^;;

And in the end:
Still busy. Still hanging in there. BUT...have a great weekend, and thank you for stopping by!

*hugs*

Walking on the Border of Insanity

My apologies, guys ^^;; Until I complete this week of massive cramming for Friday & next Monday's exam, I will most likely not be able to visit y'all. ^^;; But, please enjoy your week until then!

Monkey Orange & the Spontaneous Spending
I studied at the Border's Cafe Monday night, and got quite a lot of studying done *^_^* Good. But...

Note-to-Self: Beware the dangers of studying late night at a bookstore, for one may end up buying their books.

Hehe. I ended up succumb to their 3-for-2 Sale, and bought Sensual Phrase manga volumes 2-7. ^^;; 6 volumes for the price of 4, I saved $20. Is that EVEN a good thing? ^^;;

Another Internship Opportunity?
Yep. I gathered up my courage and applied for an Internship postion at the local hospital in my hometown. So instead of working at a retail outlet, Walgreens Pharmacy, I may be working in the hospital.

And to be honest, I'd rather work in the hospital than the retail outlet -- life is more dynamic, there *^_^* Also, I may get paid twice as much, $28 bucks per hour *^_^* Let's hope that fortune will be on my side!

Chap Stick
I will be making my own flavored lip balm during Wednesday's lab, yay!!! Hmm...which flavor should I choose?

Eh.

Have a great week, guys!

*hugs*

White Stripes: Elephant

Yep. I bought the album over the weekend. *^_^* Love it.

Pharmacy Life
My exam last Friday was okay. I honestly felt that it was a 50/50 of either doing really good, or really bad. I then chatted and compared answers with my classmates following the exam, and ended up feeling a bit better because I only had a few differing answers than they did. I knew that I definitely got three questions wrong [out of 28], and possibly four additionally wrong at the worst. I was like, “It’s okay, right?” AND then…it hit me!

Those stupid questions were worth 3-4 points each, with no partial credit! That equals to a definite 12-point loss [from the 3 definite questions], and perhaps up to a total of 24-point loss [counting up the possible 4 questions at 3 pts each]! (>_<) That leaves me with the resulting range of 88-76%. Noo! I mean, the 80-range is fine, but I cannot slip into the 70s! You see, my goal is to do really well on the midterms, so that I can cover my precious butt during finals weeks [‘cause…uhh…I tend to slack off pretty bad during finals ^^;;].

*sighs*

I got two quizzes and another midterm this week. I also have to start studying for my other midterm NEXT Monday. Yep, this week is gonna suck. ^^;;

Weekend Life
Not too bad. Relaxing as usual, AND never wanting to go back to school ^^;; Nah!

Saturday morning, I went to my siblings’ orchestral District competition for States. They did superbly, as always. Although…I though that their music selection was a bit boring compared to the usual pieces they play ^^;;. Later, I went to my cousin’s 8th year birthday party, and had fun! I also got to poke two of my baby boy cousins, TJ and Aaron – so cute! I think that they’re both at around 5-6 months old, with lots of drool and goo-goo-gah-gahs! *^_^*

At home, my bothers rented Tales of Symphonia and were pretty much glued to the TV. I watched a bit of their game, and concluded that ToS is definitely a pretty cool RPG game. Afterwards, my sister and I indulged ourselves in One Piece 94-97, Bleach 1-5, and Loveless 1-2. All good stuff!

One Piece: Luffy’s brother, Ace, is totally awesome! Pretty strong guy, I must say *^_^*

Bleach: Yeah, yeah, Ichigo is pretty cool and all, but Rukia totally cracks me up! Seriously, don’t mess her *^_^* Hehe, I like Rukia. And Chad…now that’s one strong dude! Man, my sister is SO loving this show. I must…get more ^^;;

Loveless: Still a bit lost, and confused ^^;; But it’s definitely getting better with each additional episode. I must also…get more.

Tsubasa Chronicle 2 is out now! Must…get…it.

From Bleach. Rukia is trying to teach Ichigo the inner workings of Soul Society, ghosts, and Hallows, via her very cool illustrations. Unfortunately, Ichigo [who is literally ‘tied-up’] doesn’t think that her pictures are cool at all. Oh course, he pays for his snide remarks in the end ^^;;

And let the exams begin! Shoot me.

Gonna keep it short today – gotta study for my Pharmaceutics exam on Friday ^^;;

Number 5: Ahh, floss is wonderful! I’d probably go insane if I were forced to live without floss ^^;; But yes, good luck with healing up the cavities. I don’t miss my dentist at all [well, except for my pediatric dentist because he’s just plain cool – even though I once bit his finger and never let go ^^;; Poor guy.]

The Mouse: Captain Planet was perhaps one of my most favorite cartoons back in the 90s! You should definitely get re-acquainted with the theme songs – way too corny!!! Thanks for the PM about the salesman -- those creatures can definitely be manipulative [though not all, because I once had to sale magazines for school ^^;;]

Julias Peach: Yeah, I did have QUITE the day ^^;; And my friend is doing much better now, I think. She’s back to her cheerful self, despite being ill. *^_^*

Hinaru: Thanks for the well wishes, man. Perhaps you can give me some of your luck from your exams, too!

Godel: My super cough suppressing pills were called Benzonatate [a generic name]. I think the brand name is called Tessalon. Good stuff.

Sw33tZ: The 90s were a time of pushing people to be more environmentally conscious – which may have prompted the creation of Captain Planet. But seriously, I truly loved that show when it debuted. Now, when I think about it, it was pretty…corny ^^;; But, but, the song is SO catching, yet…so lame ^^;;

Raven8763 It’s good seeing you too! Your site is bland? Not! I love it! Where else can I go for yaoi goodness *^_^*

That’s all folks!!! Thanks for stopping by!

*hugs*
