   Another Monday

Hi guys! Hope you all had a good weekend! Also, did you check your meds yet? ^_~

My weekend? It was okay. As it turned out, I didn’t work this Sat. & Sun. because there were no letters to be stuffed into the envelops ^^;; I realized that it’s a crappy job, but it’s still money, right? Ah well. Maybe there will be work next, next weekend. I’ll be totally occupied this coming weekend, so I won’t be able to work anyways – my aunt is getting married *^_^* And my sister and I, plus my other aunt, are to be the bridesmaids. *^_^* We have pink dresses, and we look good!

Anime & Manga
I recently discovered a way for me to download and burn Anime from my school computer lab *^_^* For this, I must thank an online friend for creating an FTP server loaded with goodies. BUT I’ve yet to test this new method, so I do NOT know if it’ll work, yet. *crosses her fingers* I really hope that this’ll work. Please. Don’t worry, you’ll hear by tomorrow as to whether or not it worked ^_~

I also received news that my One Piece package will be on it’s way this mid-week – which means that I should expect it in the mail by sometime next week. Man, I’ve wanted to watch more of this series of quite a while now. Again, I must thank my other online friend for taking up this favor *^_^* Yay!

Lastly, I bought some manga over the weekend. They were DNAngel 4, Gravitation 8, and Legal Drug 1. Hehe! A quick note about Legal Drug -- it’s a pretty new series by CLAMP. I had read the first volume online and totally loved it. The series is mildly Shounen-ai and, of course, features yummy bishies *^_^* But do you know what I totally dig about this series? *prepare your self for some dorkiness* The story is set from a pharmacy! That’s right! The 2 main characters work at a pharmacy called the Green Drug Pharmacy. Their boss is a bishilicious pharmacist who has pre-cognitive abilities, and sends them off to perform various tasks. *^_^* Honestly, what more I can ask for? Bishies and pharmacy? Yes. I’m a dork, geek, nerd, freak…whatever. ^^;;

To throw a Frisbee, or to Hit a Tennis Ball?
I attended a community fair on campus this past Friday. The fair was pretty much an informational fair for all the student organizations and club activities on campus. I was able to locate an Anime Club but…I don’t think so. I may be desperate, but I’m not THAT desperate ^^;; I still have a good supply of fansubs to watch for a while *^_^*

But my real conflict is that I’m trying to decide if I want to join the Women’s Ultimate Disc Club or the Women’s Tennis Club? I’m pretty sure that both clubs accept all skill levels, but which should I join? I’m unsure. ^^;; Even though I suck, I enjoy playing both! Eh. I shall email the Tennis Club, and if they DO accept all levels, then I’ll join them. If not, then I’ll do Disc Club. Either is fine *^_^*

Man, I gotta get back to work now!

   National Pharmacy Month

Okay. It’s now October! How the heck did we get to October???

FYI: I originally wrote a thoughtful post but…it got deleted! >_<. Grr…I must now attempt to duplicate the originality. But since I don’t have much time, it’s not gonna be as detailed as it was initially >_<

Okay. October is National Pharmacy Month. So, as the resident student pharmacist of MyO, I shall carry out my duties to promote pharmacy awareness to you lovely people *^_^*

PLEASE READ & FOLLOW THIS FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.
-you can do this from the computer, or print it out.
-I invested time and effort in coming up with these steps for your guys’ own health, so please appreciate them *^_^* and carry them out.

1. Gather all the medication in your house [pills, creams, ointments, suspensions, inhalers, patches, serums, drops, sprays, etc.].

2. Place the medication onto a table in a well-lit room. Do not place medication directly under sunlight.

3. Check the EXPIRATION DATE for every medication.

4. IMMEDIATELY throw out ALL EXPIRED medication into the rubbish bin.

5. For the remaining medication, please answer the following questions:
-- a.Am I taking the correct AMOUNT, at the correct TIME, and the correct METHOD?
-- b.Has the medication been making me feel UNUSUAL than I normally do? Examples: sick, pain, itchy, mood, fatigue, addicted, hyper, sleepy, pretty much anything that’s strange and/or uncomfortable.
-- c.Am I COMBINING my medication with other medications?
-- d.Am I taking my medication with ALCOHOL, ILLEGAL SUBSTANCES, or SMOKING?
-- e.Am I SHARING my medication with others?
-- f.Am I STORING my medication in the right place? Usually someplace cool, dry, and dark.
-- g.Am I running LOW on my medication? Need refill?
-- h.Does my medication WORK?

6. If you answered ‘yes’ to questions 5b to 5g AND ‘no’ to 5a & 5h, then please contact your pharmacist or doctor NOW!

7. If everything is fine, then return your medication to the appropriate place.

PLEASE DO THIS, GUYS. It doesn’t take much energy, honest. The time you spend doing this can ONLY help you. If it doesn’t save your life right away, it WILL give you peace of mind and reduce your chances of getting sick from mistakes. AND people do die from overlooking such simple things. It’s better to be safe than sorry. Overconfidence leaves open room for error. I don’t want you guys to suffer from something that is easily overlooked and ignored. So please, go check you meds. *^_^* Even if you are NOT on any medication, then go and check them for your family and friends. It’s really simple, and equally of great importance.

So do it! Don’t make Dr. Monkey Orange turn into the evil Dr. Jakal [Kurodo, Akabane] from Get Backers as seen below.

Have a great weekend and don’t forget to check your medications! *^_^*

   Is it me, or are my posts just getting longer and longer?

You know what? I don’t think I should study in my room too much – I tend to get tired and sleepy ^^;; Yesterday, I spent 2 hours reading one of my textbooks for pharmacy practice. I still have another mountain of reading to finish by Friday. I’m trying to complete this week’s readings in addition to next week’s readings. Doing schoolwork over the weekend is not an option for me – why? Because I’m too lazy to do it, that’s why ^^;;

My biochemistry class sucks because the lecturer sucks. He’s not a very good professor! All he does is hover over the projector, write messy notes, and speak as if he’s reading from a list. I do NOT sense good teaching vibes from this hairy man. *sighs* I can already sense that this class is gonna be a major pain the butt. AND since I can’t really decipher his notes and speech, I’m gonna have to rely on the textbook – ack! It’s gonna be a dry and boring read >_>

On another note, I’m making more friends at the pharmacy school *^_^* Nice people. For some odd reason, they kept thinking that I was Hawaiian – that’s a first! *sighs*

You know, I really should NOT do my schoolwork in my room – I get distracted as well! Instead of focusing on my reading, I usually end up taking a break – a 3 hour break! And doing what? Playing with my bishie pictures and watching my backlog of anime, that’s what ^^;; I ended up watching Hunter x Hunter 31-35 and Prince of Tennis 103-104 -- both are VERY good, as always *^_^*

Here, have some pictures!

--This is Gon [HxH]. He’s SO cute, even with a broken arm. Awe…he’s brushing his teeth *^_^*

--This is Kajimoto [PoT]. He’s the captain of Jyousei Shounen team. I’ve always thought he was a cutie. Unfortunately he didn’t get to play against the Seigaku team the first time around. Episode 102 was the first time I got to see him play. Although his serve was pretty interesting, he was…okay. Still a cutie though *^_^*

-- This is Fuji [PoT]. The tennis prodigy from Seigaku *^_^* AND one of my favorite bishies, of course. The fact that his eyes are opened and that he’s not sporting on his usual smile shows that he’s concerned about something. Could it be the upcoming match between the teams, Seigaku and Rikkadai? Yep. Have no fear, Fuji! You’ll do well. You always do! *smooch*

Lastly, if you live in the US, then be sure to check out the Presidential debates. I'm interested in seeing Bush vs. Kerry -- should be entertaining, hopefully. AND if you're 18 or over, PLEASE sign up to vote. I didn't vote during 2000, and felt quite ashamed >_>

Only YOU can determine what issues are important to you, and NOT the media. Seriously, it doesn't take much thought to filter all the crap that the Republicans are staging on Capitol Hill. But then again, fear IS a great tool in controlling the mass public, right? Remember the Holocaust, anyone? It doesn't take much to cause paranoia. For those who live in the US, you all must rise above that. Please.

Okay. That's enough politics for me. I just...I just hate stupid people who cannot think for themselves, and cannot see anything beyond the superficiality politics. In the end, it's about what's important you AND about making a choice. Apathy is pathetic -- and shows no life.

   Sunny days are here again!

Hi guys! I’d like to apologize if any of you were disturbed by my rageful post yesterday ^^;; BUT, I was seriously upset >_<. Anyways, I’m definitely feeling much better today *^_^*. I decided to go to a different computer lab to see if there would be a difference. And you know what? There was! The nice computer guy helped me out by pointing to computers with mIRC ALREADY installed! Yay! *^_^* Thank you SO much, computer guy! *smooch* So yes, I will be visiting with some of my friends tonight on mIRC *^_^*

Moving on…

I had my first session of Step Aerobics today. Mind you, I have never taken a ‘step’ class in my life, SO this was a new experience for me. Hehe. Good thing I choose low-impact, otherwise I’d probably pass out on the floor ^^;; Nah! I’m not THAT outta shape. It’s just…just…that my physical coordination is a bit lacking. Yes. I had some difficulty with my steps and…the direction of the movements ^^;; It took me about…oh…10-15 minutes to pin down the correct coordination – to flow with the rest of the group. Once that was accomplished, the entire program was pretty fun *^_^* I stepped here and there, and sweated like a pig. All I ask is a good low-impact, cardio exercise, and I got it. Man, I’ve already been sloth-like during my 2-year break SO it’s necessary for me to keep active at school.

I doubt that any of you care, but I just feel like posting this for some strange reason ^^;; If you wanna know what I, a 1st year student pharmacist am taking, then look below:
-Biochemistry – Mon, Wed, Fri
-Pharmacy Practice – Mon, Wed
-Pharmacy in the Health Care System – Tue, Thur
-Clinical Applications – Wed
-Information Science/Drug Literature – Thur
-Step Aerobics – Tue, Thurs

*^_^* And that’s my week. I go home on the weekends to work, do laundry, and get free food made by my mommy. *^_^* Mmm…It’s both yummy and free.

Hmm…I was gonna tell you all about a manga series I stumbled across that’s ACTUALLY set in a Pharmacy. But, I’ll save that for the next post.

Toodles.

   ARGHHH!!!

Stupid, stupid, mother f***ing campus computers!!!

Argh!!! I hate you! Hate, hate, hate, hate, hate you! Argh!!!

*grabs a large axe and starts KILLING all the computers in this damn lab*

Argh!!!

*pants*

Gosh darnit! You think with all the money I'm forced to borrow to be here, I'd at LEAST get to have my way with the computers! I don't ask for f***ing much! Internet. Fine. BUT why the hell can I NOT install mIRC??? Why!?!

mIRC is just as important to me as checking my email, checking MyO, and AIM. I have friends with whom I can ONLY correspond with VIA mIRC, bitch! Once you take that away from me, I have nothing!

Dammit! I guess I can always connect at home of the weekends BUT I'll be SO fricking exhausted from work when the meeting time arrives. *sighs*

*whines* It's NOT fair! I understand that the school is only taking caution to prevent the uploading of crappy programs and viruses, but still. The school should realize the popularity of such programs like mIRC & etc, and AT LEAST set apart a shortcut that's already intalled for us.

Dammit! When I was at school in New York, there was NEVER this f***ing problem. >_<

Oh, bags! And double bags! This SO sucks. You know what? This school was JUST warming up to me too! And now, it has withered. Withered and disintegrated.

You suck, school computer labs! You suck, you suck, you suck!

Argh!!!

*continues to chop up and murder ALL computers on this forsaken campus*

Argh!!!

If any of you guys know of a way to access mIRC from a site withOUT having to download & install...PLEASE let me know.

I will LOVE you SO much. *^_^*

If you don't, it's okay. If you do and you're NOT telling me, well I'd have to...yeah. Just kidding.

*takes deep breaths*

Okay. I think my RAGE is over now ^^;;

My, oh my. It sure feels good to vent, ne? Although I'm a bit calmer now, I'm still pissed.

*starts muttering curses to herself*

I'm 98% of the time a very calm and collected person. I rarely get upset over things and people. My mum is the opposite -- she's VERY firey! She always complain about how good natured I am. She's like 'You need more fire!' Dammit, woman. I 'fire' when I feel like it, okay. So don't push it! You know what people always say about the happy/quiet/good natured ones? They turn out to be evil freaks! Yep, that's right!

Never mess with Dr. Monkey Orange!

Mwahahahaha!

*starts juggling her large axe in the air while kicking aside the dismembered computer parts and wires*

*grins*

   First day

Today was the first day of classes. So far, not bad *^_^*

My first class was biochemistry. The professor said to the class that the hardest thing is NOT the information we needed to learn -- instead, it's the AMOUNT of vast information we had to absorb. Normally, hearing such words would freak me out for a moment. However, with my approach to schooling this year I just smiled.

Yes. Seeing as to how I am now at the highest level of my education, I've decided that I shall NO longer become a student who obsesses over getting the highest grade. Instead, I shall purely focus on my studies for the good of being a competent Pharmacist. Rather than read and regurgitate, I shall absorb and digest *^_^*

Am I a nerd? Heck, I think I need to be in order to NOT kill my future patients, right? ^^;;

Blah. ENOUGH POSTING ABOUT SCHOOLING!!!

Okay. Moving On.

Anime:
Woo hoo! I haven't posted about Anime in quite a while. ^^;; Why? It's because I wasn't able to watch much, that's why!

Anywho, all is changed...for now, at least. I've finally made my purchase with my hard-earned-money from work.

I bought Chrono Crusade DVD w/ Box *^_^* Yay! I've watched episodes 1-4, and they were great! Chrono is SO cute *^_^* And Rosette is awesome. This series is brought by ADV so the dubbing is horrid as usual. Both Chrono and Rosette are voiced by the same English VAs who did Goku and Lirin from Saiyuki. >_>

The Japanese voicing cast is superb! The cast features some of my most favorite Seiyuu like Sho Hayami, Akira Ishida, and Kazuhiko Inuoe ^^;; Very nice.

What else? Ah yes. I've also finsihed watching Hunter x Hunter episodes 6-13 -- good! I admit that I was a bit bored the first few episodes, but it's now quite addicting *wonders when HxH will arrive in the US -- soon, probably*

Other things:
- Textbook bill -- It looks to be over $600 bucks!
- TV -- I now get ONE channel!
- I bought a poster today -- Pucca love *^_^*

   Made it!

Hi guys!!!

Well, I've finally moved onto campus with the help from my family of six. I've also located a pretty nice computer lab -- hence this post *^_^* Since classes has NOT yet offically started, the computer lab is gonna close pretty early. Therefore, I shall make this a quickie.

I've survived 2 of my 3 orientation sections already. The first section took half of a day, and today's session was the entire day! There were moments during the talks that I felt like putting my head onto the table and taking a nap ^^;; But then, I was like 'That would NOT be very professional,' so I didn't. Eh. One more day tomorrow. *^_^*

So what happened during the orientation? Well, us students pretty much recieved a pep talk about how 'awesome' pharmacy is, and that we've all made a 'great' decision. We're also NOT graduate students -- instead, we are professional students. ALSO, we're NOT pharmacy students, we're student pharmacists. ^^;; Eh. It might sound kinda dorky, but this IS the profession I'm in, right? So I guess I gotta take some pride in getting to be where I am now *^_^*.

Afterwards, the professors came in and descibed our classes and what they expected of us. Got it. Will it be easy? Nope. After hearing all that stuff, I realized that, 'You know what? I'm gonna definitely have to work my ass off in order to be successful!' Come now, I'm gonna be dealing with peoples' lives when I'm done with school *^_^* You scared yet? Just kidding ^^;;

Yes, yes. Come to I, Dr. Monkey Orange, for ye drugs. Mwahahaha!

*ahem* It's been a long day, k?

Alrighty. Aside from all that school stuff, I discovered that for some reason I do NOT get any TV reception at all! Yes, I've decided NOT to buy cable, BUT shouldn't I least be recieving 2 or 3 very basic channels? Sucks. Perhaps my atennae cable thing is wiggy. *sighs* At least I still have my Anime via DVDs and CD-Rs *^_^*

Yep. That's about it for now. Lemma see if I can go around to your guys' sites before the lab closes.

Toodles.

   Lotion Diva or Lizard Woman???

Okay. So I didn’t move in yet – and that’s why I’m here ^^;;

It was quite a busy day on Monday, so mum decided to delay my trip. It’s okay, orientation isn’t until Wednesday so I’m safe *^_^*
-----
Payday.

So I got my paycheck *^_^* I’m quite happy, to say the least! Don’t worry! I promise to be good. After all, I DO have them money problems *sighs* It sucks. Apparently my brother has gone quite insane over his paycheck – much worse than me. He’s currently in the process of online shopping! Sheesh. He’s worse than me! At least I wait…for a while ^^;; Ah well. It’s HIS money so…whatever.
-----
And now, for a lite discourse on lotion:

Before I began, let me explain a bit about my skin. Simply to put it, I have sensitive skin…or is it that I’m just sensitive about my skin? Eh.

The other day, I complained to mother about how she took away a bottle of lotion that I normally use for my hands. She then replied, “How the heck am I supposed to know which one you’re currently using? You use like 5 different types of lotion!” I was shocked! I asked myself if this was true. Do I really use that many different lotions? I then calculated my usage and realized that my mum’s words were indeed true – I’m a lotion diva!

In response to this accusation, I told her that I didn’t have a choice. My skin is sensitive to my surroundings. Am I a lizard woman?

Here’s a description of my lotion usage:
1.Face -- 3 lotions. 1 for dry days, 1 for moist days, 1 for after washing.
2.Hands -- 3 lotions. 1 for moisture, 1 for night use, 1 for normal use.
3.Body – 2 lotions. 1 to smell nice, 1 for moisture.
4.Feet – 1 lotion. 1 for moisture.
Total: 6 lotions because some of them over lap.

So then, which is it? Am I a lotion diva OR a lizard woman? Which do you think?

That's all for now, folks!

   And today is the day!

Monday…

Yes. I will be moving into my studio this evening >_<. I gotta pack up my clothes, computer, TV, and ecetera. Ooo…my own studio *^_^* BUT, you know what’s most horrid about my studio? It has NO cable AND phone line! *gasp* I’ll now have to live off basic channels and use the computer labs when I need Internet. Man, it’s gonna suck NOT having Internet in my room *sigh*

Nonetheless, I am still excited about heading back to school *^_^* I already made some pharmacy friends over the summer during summer school – so it’ll be good to see them again [and I won’t be alone ^_^]. I wonder what everyone else will be like? Honest? Arrogant? Fake? Snobby? Who knows? Do I really care? I’m just there for my education, right? Still, I hope they’re nice people. I’m just NOT up to dealing with jerks and witches. My patience for dealing with such annoyances had waned thin these past few years >_< Wait…I think I’m just getting old. Old…

My apologies for the lack of an interesting discourse this post. My next update will most likely come from the inside of the campus computer lab – if I can find one, that is ^^;;

Oh yeah!!! Payday is Monday! Woo hoo! *^_^* My first paycheck, yes! I shall save the bulk of it into my newly opened checking account – and then use the leftovers for some goodies, mmm…

Until then, I wish y’all a Happy Monday! May ‘a case of the Mondays’ stay far away from us!!!

   Of seasons and 'kiddy'-fication

Ock! Can you believe it? I’ll be moving into my studio on Monday >_< Orientation is this coming week and classes are the week after that. This fall will be my first time experiencing the quarter system – unlike my undergrad years. I have a feeling that once I start school, everything will go by quickly ^^;;

You know what’s also strange? For some reason, I’ve been thinking that we’re still in August – still in the summer! I’ve been in the summer mindset for quite awhile now…that is, until now. Why do I say that? Simply because I was nearly shivering in my bed last night AND today was no exception either – it was cold! I think my body is still in shock ^^;; Does this mean that I’ll now have to put away my capris and tank tops? Guess so. Brrr…

What else? Ah yes. I know that I’ve complained about this issue before, but I can’t help it! I must complain about it again – the ‘kiddy’-fication of Anime!

What brought this up? One Piece. I watched the dub Saturday morning and was quite mortified…well, disappointed is more like it.

Now, I’m NOT saying that all dubs are bad. In fact, there are some dubs that are quite impressive. My problem is the ‘kiddy’-fication. EVERYTHING has to be toned down, simplified, and coated with kiddy fun! For instance, the opening song [which I thought would ONLY be English translated] is now some strange hip-hop, rap thing. Names are messed up, of course [ Roronoa Zoro is now Ronald Zolo]. Violence, drinking, and smoking are understandable. But the background music…is kiddy and boingy! …I don’t like that.

The same thing was done to my beloved Rave Master on Cartoon Network --- ‘kiddy’-fication! I wonder though, what will Naruto be like if it also gets…’kiddy’-fied. *cringes*

All in all, I don’t think that DUBs are bad…it’s just ‘kiddo’-fication that’s evil. I know, I know. Nobody is forcing me to watch, but still…*sighs*

End of rant.

Although I gotta stuff more envelopes tomorrow, I shall try my best to get to your sites *^_^*
