March Manga Day, Part One

Yay! Today I bought the following manga:
Fake 6
Demon Diary 6
Saiyuki 1

Good Stuff. I already finished reading both Fake 6 and Demon Diary 6--they were excellent!

It makes me feel kinda so though because both Fake and Demon Diary are coming to an end in June *tears*. I will totally be missing my favorite characters: Dee and Ryo [Fake] and Raenef and Eclipes [Demon Diary].

I also stopped by Waldens Bookstore and placed holds on the following manga:

Angel Sanctuary 1
Hana Kimi 1

Hopefully, I will have both volumes in my hands by the end of next week. Mwahahahaha!

Random anime episodes & my March Fix!

Well, I haven't been keeping up with my Escaflowne--oops! Perhaps I'll continue with volume 3 later this week.

Just the other day, I decided to watch some random Trigun from my tapes. It's been many months since I watched that show, so it was nice to see all the wonderful characters like Vash and Wolfwood again. Ooo...and Legato too. As yes...mmm...Legato. He sure is special--in the creepy psychotic way, of course.

I've also been watching Witch Hunter Robin on Cartoon Network, like most of you. I can't wait until we finally get to the meat of the story--it should be very interesting.

But yes, it's now March! And that means I'll soon be getting my monthly fix of anime and manga.

Anime: I'll be getting the last installment of Pretear. Sadly, the Pretear purchase will most likly be my last anime purchase for a long long time. As for my sister, she'll be purchasing Saiyuki volume 9. Hmm...mayb I should bum a few bucks from her, eh?

Manga: It'll be triple bonus point day at Suncoast by the end of this week. So to make use of that, I'll be picking up a copy of Saiyuki manga volume 1 for my sister. I shall wait until the end of next week to complete my March fix of: Demon Diary 6, Fake 6, HanaKimi 1, and Angel Sanctuary 1.

Mmm...March should be a tasty month!

   Fake OVA

So today I wasn't being much of a bum like yesterday. I did the dishes and folded the laundry--I felt quite accomplished ^^ So, I decided to reward myself before picking up the sibling from school: I decided to watch some anime, the Fake OVA.

Let me just say one thing--I love Fake!. In terms of the manga, I have the first 5 volumes--and in a few weeks I'll be getting the 6th one too! Dee and Ryo are the main characters, and they are wonderful.

Here's a very brief story:
Dee and Ryo are police partners who work for the NYPD--and they're excellent detectives who gets the job done. Aside from solving crime together, they are also attracted to eachother. Dee is pretty much the agresser in the relationship, while Ryo is still trying to figure out his own feelings. Pretty much the series revolves around those two guys working with eachother on cases and figuring out their personal relationship.

Of course, you also have a bunch of other wonderful characters who provide great comedic support, like Bikky [Ryo's 'foster' kid], JJ [Dee-obsessor], Berkeley [who is also interested in Ryo], and Diana [a kick-ass FBI agent].

Together, these characters and the stories make the series very satisfying. Yes, the story is Shounen-Ai but it's by not very graphic by means of Yaoi--there's some touchy-feely and kisses, but that's it.

Fake OVA:
It's only 1 hour long, so it's not like you can get to watch the entire story. The OVA centers around the first story in volume 2 of manga. Because of that, viewers miss out on some of the other characters I mentioned before, like Diana. Still, it's a good watch. I love the opening theme--very catchy [Everybody Shake it Buddy!]. Overall, I recommend this movie to all the Fake and Shounen-ai fans. And even if you haven't read Fake before, I still suggest that you try it out.

Okay. I gotts pick up the kids.

   Return of the Tamagotchi!

It's true. It's back: my Tamagotchi!

What's a Tamagotchi, you ask? Well for you youngin's, a Tamagotchi is a digital pet that was the ultimate craze in the mid 90s. Whether or not you were a boy or girl, you'd be cool if you had one.

Yes. I had one too. But after getting very annoyed with the continous beeps, I decided to retire my digital pet.

But now...almost 10 years later...it has returned to life. How? Well, my dad was bored and decided to poke around with my things. He decided to poke at the tiny reset button on the back of the Tamagotchi [seeing as how he wasn't able to unscrew the back in order to change the batteries]. And lo and behold...it's alive.

Actually I'm quite impressed because that battery is still working. Strange. But now, the thing won't shut up! *sighs* I don't even know why I'm still keeping it. I wonder if anyone else still has their Tamagotchi. Hmm...

   Number 1

Whoa, this is my first post.

So what's up with my Otaku life today? Let's see...Today I continued my re-watching of Vision of Escaflowne.

As one of my favorite shows, I decided to re-watch it again. I love the characters, the story, and mostly the music. You go Yoko Kanno!

I watched episodes 1-4 about two weeks ago. Today I finished 5-8. It was my reward for being a hard worker, honest ^^;

Allen is still my favorite bishie from the series. But as I continued to re-watch it, I discovered that I'm developing a deeper appreciation for Van too! He's such a good guy! He experiences a lot of personal growth by the end of the show.

Okay. That's enough for now.

Honestly, I can go on and on and on...if I wanted to ^~
