*sits quietly in her room & typing on her laptop*

Okay, okay. I admit that I have been quite bored lately. School hasn’t started for me yet. I’m not working unless the hospital says so. Parents are at work. And the siblings are at school. There really isn’t much for me to do during the day. And my sister, now a high school junior, has been constantly swamped with homework ever since school started – so she doesn’t have time to play with me ^^;; Sadness.

*thinks*

I’ve already cleaned the house. I guess I could start packing my things for next week. But that’s kinda depressing, so no. Uhm…*looks over to a big pile of photos* Yes, I need to put those photos into my album. And I much as I enjoy digital photos, I constantly feel the need to print them out. I don’t like looking at my picture from a computer. I think it’s more fun to print them out and place them into my album.

Ah yes, the other thing that I despise when I am home during the day are all the nasty telemarketing phone calls. Pisses me off. You have no idea how many junk phone calls our house received every day. I no longer pick up the phone. If the message is important, then leave a message. I swear, these people! And when I do answer the phone, I pretty much have to argue with them to get them off. I don’t like to just hang up, so I try to decline. And they still give me a hard time. Geez!

*sniffle*

I checked my checking account earlier today…and…and…I almost feel out of my chair. I guess that my $3000 payment to my loan sharks…uh lenders had finally gone through. *deep breaths* That is such a large chunk of money. And…it’s gone. Just like that. Wahhhhh!!!!

::IT BURNS, IT BURNS::
My laptop has been acting sluggish lately, so I did a little investigating. I discovered that I had a small shred of space remaining on my hard drive. Well, I had gone a little nuts on downloading anime which meant that it was time to burn the episodes onto discs.

It’s times like this that I wish my brother was still here so that I can take advantage of his DVD burner ^^;; and that way I can fit more episodes onto one disc as compared to a few onto one regular CD-R. Eh.

::SKIPPITY-DO-DAH::
My little 10-year-old brother, soon to be 11 years old, has been selected to join the 7th grade orchestra – jumping up two whole levels. This selection was based on his above average performance [not genius nor prodigy] and by the need for a second cellist.

His teacher told us that there is only one cellist in the 7th grade orchestra, so they really need him. Because of this, we will need to transport him to the middle school, and then back to the elementary school. Additionally, for convenience purposes, they also want to bump him from 5th grade math to 6th grade math [at the middle school] to prevent him from missing too much school time at the elementary school.

While I am happy for my brother’s advancement, I keep wondering if he’ll be able to handle all of this. I really don’t want him to go nuts at such a young and tender age ^^;;

::RANDOM THINGIES::

“In the Jungle.” Yesterday I played this song on my guitar, while my brother accompanied me with his cello.

I just found out that the 5th installment of the Artemis Fowl series was just released. *grins* The book is titled Artemis Fowl: the Lost Colony. You all should check out this series.

I realized that I have been posting quite frequently on MyO. I…must be really bored ^^;; Need…to…find…more…things…to…do…

I’m bad. I complained about how poor I was going to be this school year on my previous post. And for this post, I plan on talking about some spendy items I’d like to purchase ^^;;

These items were already supposed to have been purchased earlier this summer. But things happen, you know. I’m also feeling the money pinch because I recently had to pay off $3000 dollars of my unsubsidized school loans. Mum has been harassing me to pay it for several months now. Well, I did it. And it was very sad. $3000 is a lot of money. And now, I have that much less *cries*

But yes, the items that I’d like to purchase are my belated birthday present to myself, and early Christmas present to myself. I’ve been drooling over them for months, but never had the courage to cough up the money for them. I should be conserving my money, but…but…I really want them. These items will be the last spendy items I will purchase for a very long time. I swear it!

My belated birthday present to myself ^^;; This is a Canon PowerShot SD 600 digital camera. It features: 6 mega pixels, 2.5 LCD screen, optical viewfinder, and…lots of other neat stuff I can’t remember now. Not the coolest in the world, but has the simple things that I want.

Price : about $300 [as if! I will definitely be shopping around for the best bargain!]

My early Christmas present to myself ^^;; This is a Creative Zen V Plus MP3 player. It features: 4GB, FM radio, voice and line-in recording, photo and video playback. It is predicted to be released in October. I was debating between this player or the Creative Zen Micro Photo with 8GB. I was seriously tempted by the 8GB vs. 4GB, but I opted for the smaller size & video playback *grins*

Price: about $200 [uh, I don’t think so. Well, if it is a new release item, then I may just have to pay the full price *cries*]

And lastly, thanks to Seto Kaiba Freak I am now in a very Vincent Valentine mood *^_^* Just look at my desktop! Hehe, not that I have any complaints about this mood – which I don’t.

*dreams away…*

P.S. Site theme changed.

You know, I just realized that I will be much poorer once school begins. I normally work every other weekend at the hospital during the school year. And now, with the major reduction in intern hours, I’ll probably work one weekend shift every 4-7 weeks. It’s HORRIBLE!!! I’ve got textbooks to purchase, and rent to pay, and food, and my portion of cable Internet & cell phone bill, and gas, and…and…my monthly manga. I also need to save up for my convention and Japan-trip funds.

Ack!!! Man, I should’ve hooked myself up with another job over the summer. *bangs her head repeatedly on the tabletop* This…sucks.

*sighs*

On a brighter note, I am happy about the premiere of Bleach on Adult Swim on Saturday. I had to work on Sunday, so I wasn’t able to watch it. I was able to watch the online promotion, and thought that it sounded decent. I won’t be able to watch it next Saturday because I have to work again. I was going to watch it next next Saturday, but then I released that I’ll be back on campus and at my new apartment with no cable TV. Sucks. Ah well! It’s not like I haven’t watched Bleach before. I just wanted to completely listen to how the English cast sounds. Bleh. Some…other…time. *^_^*

Ah yes, and I have posted a Get Backers AMV below. I thought this particular AMV was enjoyable. I love the dancing chibi Genji! Have a great week, minna!

Yo.

No more anime convention. Life returns to normal. The siblings have returned to school. I have returned to work at the hospital. Yes.

My brother is home from college for the weekend. It has been two weeks since we last saw him. He came back with new friends. Two guys and four girls. The majority of these friends are from Hawaii. They all seem nice, outgoing, and bright kids…I think. LOL! Freeshhhmen!!! *points & laughs* Hahahahahahaha!!!

*ahem*

I’ve been reading some Get Backers manga lately, and loved it. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to go onto YouTube and finish watching the anime series – the first season that is. I had left off on episode 15 a few years ago, and just stopped watching it. Yesterday, I watched from episode 16-26. Awesome. I was once again reminded of how much I enjoy this series! Despite of all the ‘strange’ things that people often complain about this series, it’s actually a very good action series.

Additionally, I also started watching Basilisk and Ergo Proxy [thanks to Hinaru]. Somebody stop me. At this rate of starting new shows and books…will I ever finish them?

Hehehe…heh.

Kumoricon Anime Convention 2006 in Portland, OR has ended.

The convention lasted from 9/2 thru 9/4. And let me say that it was darn fun! I brought my sister and three cousins – and it seemed like they had more fun than I did, which is very good. It makes me happy to see how much they’ve enjoyed this experience. It was the first convention for two of my cousins, and they loved it *^_^*

I also got to meet up with Panda and her wonderful husband, John. It’s always a pleasure meeting up with those two because they are such honest & nice people. As Panda and I had conspired previously, Panda brought with her the spare Ouran jacket along with the Beelzenef puppet to complete my Nekozawa costume. And in the end, she let me keep both the jacket and the hand-made Beelzenef! *^_^* Isn’t that nice of her? Thank you so much, Panda! *big big hug*

There were two live concerts that were enjoyable to watch. The first was by a pianist who performed anime and video game music. The last was by a local Japanese band that performed music from various anime series. Both groups provided good live entertainment. I especially liked how I was able to recognize a lot of the songs performed. And while I enjoyed the song recognition, I also realized how much of a dork it made me ^^;;

The exhibitors room was better than last year’s, but not as cool as the room from Sakura Con 2006. Still, I managed to acquire some nice goodies. I bought 5 volumes of manga for 20% off the standard price. I bought Saiyuki Reload DVD volume 5 for $15 bucks because Geneon DVDs were 50% off. I bought a very cute Luffy [One Piece] plushie. And lastly, I bought the girls and myself adorable key chains at 3 for $10. Overall, I got some pretty good items for pretty good prices *^_^*

The biggest disappointment from the convention concerned the showing of the Prince of Tennis Musicals, mainly that there was NO showing! The showing was supposed to be on the last day of the convention. However, it did not happen due to a big schedule screw-up and an even-worse technical malfunction of the ‘showing’ computer. *sighs* I think that the girls were more upset about it than myself ^^;; Whatever.

And here are some pictures for your enjoyment *^_^*

::CONVENTION PICTURES::

Please ignore the incorrect dates on the pictures ^^;;

This is a group picture of the girls and myself outside of the hotel and near the Columbia River. From Left to Right: Caroline/Yakari [Paradise Kiss], Sakuno [Prince of Tennis], Sasuke [Naruto], L [Death Note], and Nekozawa [Ouran Host Club].

L, played by my sister, and very curious about Nekozawa’s Beelzenef. LOL!!!

Again L seems to be curious. Instead of examining Beelzenef, this time L is focused on Haruhi Suzumiya [Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya] played my one of my cousins.

Nekozawa [me] and Kyouya [Panda]. Both characters are from Ouran High School Host Club.

A cute little 7-year-old boy playing the role of Hunny from Ouran High School Host Club.

Nekozawa and the Hitachiin twins from Ouran Host Club .

Nekozawa with Tamaki, Haruhi, Kyouya, one Hitachiin twin, and a couple of Renges.

A Genjo Sanzo from Saiyuki was spotted at the nearby Taco Bell.

I thought that this was one of the best cos-players. This is a picture of a cos-player as The Count from Gankutsuou: the Count of Monte Cristo. This person’s skin is very very blue…just like the Count’s *^_^*

Our group with the Straw Hat Pirates from One Piece.

And finally, an ending and tribute to the Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya’s ending theme & dance. The girls and I did our best ^^;;

Guess what? Guess what? The weekend is almost here *^_^*

::ANIME::
I finally got around to finishing up Honey & Clover season one. I will start watching Honey & Clover II later next week. I enjoyed watching this series overall. It was very sweet. I was happy for Takemoto upon his return from his trip. *hugs Takemoto*

Mushishi is a new series I picked up about a week ago. It’s not action packed, or luvvy-duvvy, or even funny. It’s very mellow. The story is episodic, and yet it doesn’t bother me. I find it relaxing to watch this show before I go to bed. Strange, I know. ^^;;

Hellsing Ultimate OVA I & II. OMG. Cool. I must say that I am very impressed with how the OVAs are turning out. I really like how it’s staying true to the manga [mostly]. OVA II kicked major butt! Especially the fight scenes that involved Luke Valentine & Alucard. Coolness. I guess that I’ll probably have to wait another 5 or 6 months until OVA III is available. Man, I can’t wait to see Vernadead *grins*

::CONVENTION TIME::
Okay, okay. Panda has managed to convince me to cosplay with her as a student from Ouran High School Host Club. I must now decide to dress either as Haruhi or Nekozawa. But before I decide, I must do a bit of shopping tomorrow for some costume stuff. LOL!!! This should be fun!! I shall reveal my final decision before I take off to Portland for the weekend *grins*

Yay! I’m glad that you guys enjoyed my pictures. (^_^) And, did everyone have a good week?

::OFF TO COLLEGE::
I have noticed in several postings that some of you have headed off to college for the first time. Personally, I think that college represents one of the best times during a person’s life – well, for me it was ^^;; I’ve also had my share of ‘college’ stuff this past week. My 18-year old brother started college this past Wednesday. Our family helped him to move into his dorm and to settle down. It was a busy day. It was an exciting day. It was also…a sad day ^^;; My lil’ bro is growing up. Eh. I have confidence he will succeed, just like the rest of you!

::STATE FAIR::
The Oregon State Fair started this past Friday. I plan on taking the siblings to play there on Saturday. And Saturday evening, my sister and I will attend a music concert. The venue includes: Cake, The Violent Femmes, and The Decemberists. It should be an enjoyable evening *^_^*

::MANGA READS::
Hellsing volume 7 was very good, and gruesome as always. I am definitely looking forward to volume 8, but honestly I have no idea when that’ll ever be released. Volume 7 was released years ago, and…I don’t even know if the mangaka is still continuing this series. Personally, I think this chunk of the story is awesome. I am wondering if it’ll be shown on the Hellsing Ultimate OVAs. Seras’ upgrade totally kicks-butt. And Alucard…wow. Simply, cool. Ahhh!!! What’s gonna happen next???

Death Note volume 7. I have no words. Impressed? Shocked? Sad? Numb? Read it. All can I say now is that I will use this time until the next volume release in November to recover myself. Yes, I need it. ^^;;

::CONVENTION TIME::
One more week until Kumoricon 2006. Yippee!!! I still haven’t decided who to dress as ^^;; And time is running out!

Toodles!

I am very shy about posting real pictures of myself on the Internet. But for you all...I will do it!

::VACATION CLIPS::

All six of us drove from Oregon, through Washington, through Idaho, through Montana, and into Wyoming. Our method of transportation was via the infamous ASTROVAN!!!

Above: Dad is waving from the ASTROVAN. The surrounding are of some fascinating rock formations.

The first night was supposed to be spent in Spokane, WA. The plan was to lodge in Spokane, and then drive to Cour A'lane, ID to play. Unfortunately, some stupid-mega event was happening that very weekend, thus all lodging was fully booked from Spokane, WA thru Missoula, MT. We eventually spent the night inside of the ASTRO at some desolate rest area in the Montana mountains. It was very cold.

The next morning we drove through Missoula, MT. While there, we...ate at Denny's and moved on. Next was lodging in Butte, MT -- an old mining town. Then we headed towards Bozeman, MT. There, we visited a very cool dinosaur museum called the Museum of the Rockies. Awesome.

We finally arrived at Yellowstone National Park in Montana-Wyoming, and camped there for the next few nights. I must honestly say that this park is very beautiful. The geological features are amazing and stinky ^^;; Why stinky? The park, itself, rests on top of an area of active volcanos -- thus sulfur in constantly emitted from gesyers, fumoroles, hot springs, and mud pots. Despite that, I still love this place *^_^*

Above: Steam rising from one of the hot springs.

Above: The sun is peeking through the clouds above of the hot spring.

Of course, Yellowstone isn't only about the geysers & etc. This park is also home to numerous waterfalls, rivers, mountains, and more. The picture below is of a river flowing through the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone.

Above: Grand Canyon of Yellowston National Park

And here comes the more personal pictures - woo hoo!

Above: My family. From the left to right is myself, brother, sister, dad, mum, brother. The background is of the Grand Canyon with the waterfall.

I was able to encounter a variety of wildlife during my trip. I saw elk, bison, moose, and lots of birds including the bald eagle. I would've posted the picture of the moose, but it didn't turn good.

Above: Myself standing next to a possessed elk! Ths particular elk [a female] was huge, and munching on some grass very very close to our tent ^^;;

After finishing our stay in Yellowstone, we packed up and visited Grand Teton National Park which is just south of Yellowstone. Again, another beautiful park. I simply adore the mountain backdrop scenery!

Above: One of the many gorgeous views of the mountains of the Grand Teton National Park.

Afterwards, we continued back throug Idaho where we lodged and played around. And then...back to Oregon, back to home.

Overll, it was a very good trip. I hope you guys liked the pictures. I tried my best to pick out the good ones ^^;;
