Vacation, finished!
Ah yes, I love vacations, yes I do!
My family and I went camping in southern Oregon and then drove up to Seattle, WA, then to Vancouver, B.C. Canada and lastly to Victoria, B.C. Canada.
I shall now do a recount of my trip:
Camping in Southern, OR:
Always fun and warm! I was lucky enough this time NOT to get bitten by any bugs ^^;;
While here, our family engaged in kayaking, peddlin-boating, and sandboarding [which is MUCH better than snowboarding!].
I also rekindled my love for fire-toasted marshmallows...mmm...
Onward to Seattle, WA:
This was actually a short trip. We left town pretty late, SO arrived in Seattle pretty late. By the time we reached the Fisherman's Warf the people were already packing up. Quite sad BUT I've already been to Seattle several times ^^;; I also spied a very nice and long poster of Legolas [Lord of the Rings]. I wanted to buy the poster but I refrained -- mum was still around >_<
Next to Vancouver, BC Canada:
Ooo...this was a fun trip! We got to wander around Chinatown and eat yummy Hong Kong style noodles and tasted several SouthEast Asian fruits. I also bought myself some Anime posters -- woo hoo!!
We then ventured through Stanley Park -- one of the World's largest urban parks [it sort of reminds me of Central Park in NYC -- BUT much nicer!!!]. While in the park, we visited many scenic view points and also the Vancouver Aquarium. I got to see numerous colorful fishies, a dolphin, and several belugas! Belugas are SO cute!!! *^^*
Lastly, the beautiful Victoria, BC Canada:
Okay. I loved Victoria -- gorgeous place, but the ferry tickets were so damn expensive, ick! *sighs*
In Victoria, I took my little 8-year old brother to the Victoria Bug Zoo -- which is pretty impressive! On the outside, the zoo looks very dinky and small, BUT the once you enter the small door it's absolutely worth the price of admission. I had seriously NEVER seen such LARGE and STRANGE bugs in my life! Yes, I've seen them on TV BUT this was different! Those SouthEast Asian bugs are so...amazingly large and stange. You MUST visit this place. ALSO, I was very impressed that the entire zoo was run by young women. Yep, they love their buggy critters!
The main reason for going to Victoria is to visit the Buchart Gardens -- you MUST also visit this place! The gardens are amazing and the fireworks show are the best! Actually, I'm mainly in in for the fireworks show -- choreographed with music!
End of the trip?
Yes. That's all! A simple, and fun trip [despite the compliants and nagging along the way ^^;;].
What's ahead for me? WORK! My mom actually had the nerve to force my brother and I to sign-up for work as 'envelop-stuffers' as we headed towards the freeway. I guess she just got fed up with our 'sloth-like' lifestyles ^^;; Hopefully, the timecards will still be there tonight. We signed up to work and don't show up until a week later! Hehe...talk about being late! It's also during the swing shift...ughh... |
