Edward Elric

Other Names: The Fullmetal Alchemist, Genius Alchemist, Dog of the military



Family: Brother Alphonse (Al) Elric age 14, Mother Trisha Elric dead, Father Hohenheim Elric status unknown

Age: 15 (Born in 1898) (Age in the main story line and not in flashbacks.)

Birthplace: Rizenbul City

Hair: Yellow

Eyes: Gold

Height: Short, was smaller then his brother even when his brother was alive.

Description: His right arm and leg are auto-mail. Auto-mail is an artificial limb made out of metal and can be moved like a normal arm because each of the nerve endings are attached to it. If you are an Alchemist you can change it into other forms, such as a knife or a gun. We know that there is something significant about his father since it is repeatedly mentioned how Ed and Al are his kids. He is a National (State) Alchemist.

Personality: Very focused on getting his brother a new body. Resents the fact that he is short and gets very angry when people call him short or assumes that he is the younger of the brothers. Gets angry easily and often over reacts. Often acts like the younger of the two brothers and his brother often has to assume the role of older brother.

Talents: Called The Fullmetal Alchemist. Can perform alchemy without a transmutation circle (Normally alchemists have to draw a circle in order to transmute something.

Hates: Milk...Really hates milk...That is why he is so short, "There is no way that I can drink some what juice that is secreted from a cow."

Alphonse Elric



Other Names: The Immortal Alchemist



Family: Brother Edward (Ed) Elric age 15, Mother Trisha Elric dead, Father Hohenheim Elric status unknown

Age: 14 (Born in 1900)

Birthplace: Rizenbul City

Hair: Used to be yellow (According to show)

Eyes: Used to be gold (According to show)

Height: When not in the suit of armor he was still taller than his brother, now that his soul is in the suit of armor he is really quite tall.

Description: He lost his body but his brother put his soul into a nearby suit of armor.

Personality: Much calmer then his older brother and often acts like and is assumed to be the older brother. Is sometimes depressed about not having a body but says that he want to return his brothers normal arm and leg before he gets a new body.

Talents: A talented alchemist although not quite a good as his brother, passed the written part of the National Alchemist exam but was encouraged to drop out before the practical part.

Winry Rockbell
Also Known As: Automail or Mechanic Geek (Ed calls her this).




Family: Grandmother Pinako, Mother and Father died in the war in Ishbal. Ed and Al are like family to her.

Age: Around the ages of Ed and Al. So around 15

Birthplace: Rizenbul City

Hair: Yellow

Eyes: Blue

Height: Normal height. Taller then Ed.

Description: She is an automail mechanic with her Grandmother. She has been friends will Ed and Al since they were all really little. She may act as if she is mad at Ed sometimes but they really are good friends.

Personality: She is obsesed with mechanical things and does not like it when her automail that she creates is damaged.

Talents: Very talented at making automail.

Roy Mustang
Other Names: The Flame Alchemist




Family: Unknown

Age: 29

Hair: Black

Eyes: Black

Height: Tall, but shorter then most of the other guys.

Description: A Lieutenant Colonel in the army and a National Alchemist. Was searching for the Elric brothers’ father but says that he is now more interested in Edward. Has helped Edward to become and National Alchemist and hide his past. He may have some other interest in them that we have not seen yet and we are still unsure what his motive in helping them is.

Personality: Calm, looks out for Edward and Alphonse.

Talents: Is called the Flame Alchemist because he has a talent of throwing fire. By using his gloves, which are made out of spark cloth, he creates a spark and then by changing the concentration of oxygen in the air he can cause the spark to grow and travel.
