My Opinion....
Well as the title suggests my next few posts will be my opinion on may different issues. Anyone who has read my earlier post will know where I stand when it comes to child abuse. Next on the list is female suppression. Others will occassionally rear their heads. I was tempted to do one on which is correct. Vase (stressing the a) or Vase (just saying a). But I decided to start with female suppression. My friend Alisha and I had a long and I mean long argument/discussion over this particular topic. We actually continued for an entire day. Freaky no?

It all started with our Dead and Buried class, in which we are learning about Ancient China. We watched the movie Anna and the King. The king had about 20 wives and they were treated very poorly. As nothing more than possessions. Hence how our argument/discussion started.

I believe that the repression and "possession" of women is wrong. Women are human beings just like men and therefore they deserve to be treated equally. I hated the fact that this guy (in the movie) could have so many wives and have almost no respect for any of them. Not to mention the dude had like 50 kids. We women have fought long and hard for the rights that we in the western world have today but it disgusts me that even in our modern times today, some people still treat women like objects that can be owned. I am not trying to be offensive to chinese or anything, that just happened to be the guy in the movie. And I know it's stupid to base things off a movie but this is just one of those issues that really bugs me.

Okay well now that I've done my rant for the day, I shall return tomorrow with yet another issue to post about. Stay tuned.
