Why the fuck do some people like to argue so much? I like to argue, yeah, but only because I enjoy proving points and stuff. Which is why I like proofs in geometry. But some people just argue about everything all the time! I admit, I argue about stupid things. But at least I give it a rest after a while.

I just had like an hour and a half long argument about the pronunciation of a japanese word with Cam. He keeps telling me "you're not japanese, we're in america, pronounce it the american way!"

Wtf? Who says they have to be different? It's a japanese word, why wouldn't I use the japanese pronunciation? "durr, cause we're in america!"

And being in america has what to do with pronouncing foreign words? Well, only that the majority of the population will pronounce it wrong. LIke the Rio Grande. It's "gran-day", not "grand"! It's spanish! They say things differently in that language, you know.

Same in japanese. You know, any word in japanese can be very easily written in english without skewing the pronunciation. (not the same the other way around, I'm afraid)

There's a character for "ah". It's written as "a" here. And it's always pronounced "ah". Simple enough, right? But no, because english has like 3 different ways of pronouncing one stupid letter. So it "ah-nee-may" becomes "an-i-may". Just because more people say it that way doesn't mean it's right... And I refuse to say it the "american way"; that's like saying I should speak like a hick if I go to Texas. And there's no way that's ever happening.

I don't care how other people say japanese words, but I'm going to say them correctly, no matter where I am. I don't start these stupid-ass arguments, they do. I wish they would just leave me the fuck alone... I'm so sick of this...

._.
