Today, 190 yeras ago, the independence day of my country was being declared

Today is my independece day, I know yours was last week (congratulations) and today is mine!
I know you probably didn't know this but I study History at University and I would like you all to know just a little about my country's history; so, let's start with the independence day:
On July the nineth of 1816, independence was declared here in Argentina. The Spanish domination had been trying to be stopped for several years. Since the very begining of the 19th century people had fought to be free and, finally conquered european domination in 1816. The declaration did not take place in the capital city, not even in the capital province (in Argentina we speak of Provinces not States), it took place very far from there, in a Province called Tucumán; wanna know why? well, because that way, Buenos Aires (the capital) wouldn't and couldn't be accused of being monopolizer. Independence was declared in a non-political building, a normal and typical house.
So now you know a bit more about my country and for that matter, about me too.
This is the monument built in honor of my flag:
