The bell rang, but Yugi made no move to get up. He was staring out the window, but his amethyst eyes were focused on something immaterial rather than the busy city outside.
“Earth to Yugi! You copy, Yugi?”
“Huh? What?” Yugi jumped, and refocused on Joey’s hand, flailing around in his face.
The blonde grinned. “Man, you really spaced out there. Where were you?”
“Oh, I was just thinking about someone.” He stood up and stretched.
“Who?” Téa asked, her blue eyes sparkling mischievously.
Yugi shook his head, his millennium puzzle swinging on its chain. “You wouldn’t know her.”
“Well, I don’t know about you guys, but I want to get to lunch before it disappears. Anyone with me?” Tristan asked.
“I am!” Joey agreed enthusiastically.
“Well, then, let’s go.” Tristan gave them a push to herd them along to the lunch room.
“So, who’s this mysterious girl, Yugi?” Téa asked once they’d gotten their lunches and sat down.
“She’s just an old friend,” Yugi answered between bites of his lunch. Hamburgers were his favorite. “I haven’t seen her in a long time.”
“How’s old is she?” Tristan wanted to know.
“Uh, about my age.”
Joey and Tristan couldn’t help themselves. “Is she hot?” they asked in unison.
Téa fixed the guys with a long, hard stare before rolling her eyes and muttering something about men.
Yugi blushed again. “I don’t know.”
Joey and Tristan stared incredulously. “You don’t know?!”
Téa waved off their question with her hand. “But seriously, what’s she really like?”
“Well, uh, she’s…” Yugi screwed up his face trying to think of an accurate way to describe her. “well, different. It’s kinda hard to explain.” He stared off at an invisible person as he tried to explain it. “She’s quiet…not really shy, just…oh, I don’t know. Like everything was new to her.”
“Eh…you’re not making much sense, Yug,” Joey said.
“I know. She was my only friend before you guys came along, and she’s very special to me.”
“How you meet?” Téa asked, munching on a fry.
“Well, I found her actually. She was curled up in a door well and it was raining pretty hard. She looked like she was lost. I offered her a walk home, but then I realized she didn’t have a home. So I asked her if she wanted to stay at my house. That’s what I mean by the ‘everything was new to her’ part. She acted like she’d never been in a real home before, or even had a family. She never told me where she was before; I don’t think she wanted to remember.”
“Wow,” said Tristan, whistling appreciatively. “That’s really something. But then where’s she now?”
“I don’t know. One day she told me she needed to go somewhere and do something. She wouldn’t tell me what, except that she’d been gone for a long time. And there was something else she said that shocked and scared me.” Yugi paused, unsure if whether he should really continue.
“What?” Téa prompted.
Yugi said the next part quietly, making sure no one else but his friends could hear. “She made a vow…never to kill a human being again. She told me never to let her forget that. And then she was gone.”
They sat in silence, eating their lunches and slowly digesting those last few sentences.
“One last question,” Joey finally said as they were picking up their empty trays. “What was her name?”
We have to make a power point presentation on the Vietnam War for American History. Which means that for 3 out of the 4 remaining days of school left I get to spend the last two hours of the day on the computer! (Computer Lab for presentation, and Study Hall.) HOORAY!!!!!!
I downloaded this awesome AMV on Saturday. The song’s Shot through the Heart – Bon Jovi and the anime’s Excel Saga. It was AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-Possible Spoilers about Star Wars Movie-
I GOT TO SEE STAR WARS YESTERDAY!!!! Yes, I am a Star Wars fan. It was good…but I almost cried. It’s like one of those movies where you know how it ends but you don’t want it to end that way. Especially when Ani killed all the younglings…T.T DON’T DO IT ANI!!!!!!!! It’s really ironic though how in his effort to prevent Padme from dieing, Anikin ends up being the reason she dies. So sad…*sniff*
-End of Spoilers-
Anyways, I think I’ve figured out where to start my story, so I’ll post it as soon as I get a chance. Which reminds me, I’ve gotta start getting all my files off the school computer, because school lets out on Friday!!! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Oh, yeah, I slept with Fluffy.
Seto: you did WHAT?!?!?!?!?!?!?!
Me: EEP! You weren’t supposed to hear that!
Seto: How…how could you??? I’M GONNA GET YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!
Me: calm down! Seto, please calm down! I was just kidding. The fluffy I speak of is not Sesshoumaru, it’s really my fluffy scarf! It’s a joke!!! PLEASE DON’T KILL ME!!!!!!!!!!!
Seto: Hmph…you shouldn’t joke about stuff like that.
the graduation ceremony went really well, except for the part when whoever was supposed to turn on the lights after the movie forget too. ^.^ it was kinda funny, since the principal started joking about it.
YAY! RIN21 stayed over at my house last night! We stayed up till like 3 down in my room watching dvd's. we watched 13 going on 30, and then Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. Nausicaa was really good, except for the whole evolution bit. But I liked the rest of it. ^.^
Well, that's all i have to talk about right now. my mom went shopping and she could possibly be gone for the whole day so i have pretty much free run on the computer.
Feh…I can’t even write the first sentence of my story…but I’ve got other parts written, so that has to count for something. ^.^” I’ll keep working on it, and when I get it started I think I’ll post it here b/c for some asinine reason ff.net is blocked at school. -.-
The seniors graduate tonight, and I’m going to graduation b/c the choir is going to be singing. We’re singing a whole new world (we really don’t sing that much, b/c most of the song is solo’s done by the few seniors who’re in choir) and we get to where choir robes! YAY! Choir robes are so much fun to wear because…well, just because. Plus that means I don’t have to dress up either b/c the choir robe’ll hide whatever I’m wearing underneath.
RIN21, I’m really sorry I’m not coming to your house this weekend. Mom made me choose, and the only reason I chose to go to ladysesshoumaru’s house is b/c we’re going to see the last Star Wars movie this weekend. So this is my public apology, b/c I think that’s why you seemed kinda depressed at lunch. (I’ll make it up to you sometime…maybe next Friday? It’s early release, so we can have a school’s out party and watch lots and lots of anime movies.)
YES! Only one week left of school! I can’t wait!
Question: How old was Seto when Gozaburo adopted him? And how was Yugi when he first became friends w/ Joey and the rest? Anybody know?
There was something I was going to ya’ll yesterday, but I forgot again…wait! I remembered! We had our little awards ceremony thing during school, and I got a ton of awards for being super smart…Best Biologist, one for Spanish class, A Honor Roll, one for being in Forensics, one for Gym (me: O.O I absolutely despise that class…how the heck did I get an award for it?) and one more…oh, yeah, Most Improved Musician for choir! Undeadloner kept teasing me, telling me I should just sit on the floor b/c I’ll just get called up again for another award. But the best part was I got a bunch of Sharpies in all different colors with my Best Biologist award! ^.^ But they were defective (a few didn’t work) so Mrs. A is gonna take them back and get me another pack.
I told the choir teacher she should’ve had a craziest person in choir award, which would go to…*drum roll*…RIN21!!!!!
Since you guys seemed to have really liked my story (except for RIN21…your comment had absolutely NOTHING to do with my post. Told ya’ll she’s crazy. ^.^) I try and write the beginning as soon as I can get the right words out. So far I’ve been basically writing different parts, what I posted is about the middle of the story. And possibly the best part of the whole story. I haven’t even decided where I want to start it yet. Well, I’ll see what my crazy, insane, demented mind can concoct. So far I like where it’s going.
Okay, so first things first, this article is hilarious. Just follow the link. ^.^ Barbecue Sauce
Next, today is the seniors’ last day. Which means I have less than two weeks left of school. And because the seniors are leaving, the lunch line will be shorter!!! (Not that school lunch is really anything that good in the first place, but it is food, and usually at least half edible)
FEAR ME!! I AM WRITING AGAIN!!!!!!!! I am re-writing “Without Name” but it’s gonna go under a different title. I’ve changed some major things for the first one, worked out most of my plot bugs, and furthermore, found what I think Nanashi’s “true” personality should be more like. So I think I’ll give you guys a little teaser, because that’s a writer’s privilege and us writer’s love to torment reader’s with stuff like that. So here goes…
Seto re-entered the cell a dazed and broken man. He trembled visibly, and was unable to even glance in Nanashi’s direction. He leaned against the cold stone wall for support. Soundless sobs wracked his tall frame as he hung his head in silent shame.
“I betrayed Mokuba,” he finally rasped. He looked up, finally catching Nanashi’s gaze. He appeared to have aged decades instead of minutes during his absence. His blue eyes faded into a flat, lifeless gray. “I betrayed my own brother.” The shame of it pressed down on him, causing him to slouch, suffocating him it seemed. He searched Nanashi’s eyes, looking desperately for some kind of reassurance this wasn’t true.
She had none to offer him. “I know. I heard.” Compelled by some unknown force, Nanashi got up and walked over to him, setting her hand on his shoulder. “There was nothing you could do.”
“That doesn’t change the fact that I did it.” His voice was thick and gravelly, laced with anger directed at himself. Seto Kaiba didn’t cry, but nevertheless he felt tears burning trails down his cheeks.
“I know that too.” She closed her eyes for a moment, and Seto saw the pain etched clearly in her face. He suddenly understood what her life was like, to be the one carrying the guilt of all those murders, even if the guilt was misplaced; she hadn’t known, had no way of knowing it was wrong. And so she still hated herself for it, to the point of fearing herself and what she could do.
And there I shall leave you. Probably leave you for about half a year, until I manage to even work up to that point in the story. MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! Writer’s are evil.
My piano recital went really good yesterday. I don’t get nervous about things until about two seconds before I do them, so I was just fine until I walked up to the piano. I’m blessed with nerves of steel, so I didn’t really get that nervous. I played all four pages of my song from memory (I’ve played it so many times that it would be pointless for me to use music, and besides, then I gotta worry about turning pages…I usually find it best to memorize my songs as quickly as possible). It’s “Sonata Pathetique” by Mozart (I think). Anyways, it went really good. My parents were impressed. They told me I was “holding back” at home when I played it and deprived them of hearing how good I could play until yesterday. ^.^ I think it was just the grand piano I got to play on.
I finally got to ride my pony again! I spent about a half hour just walking him around, over ground poles and through this little labyrinth thing that involves making some pretty sharp corners. Speckies was a good boy except for the first 5 or so minutes, when at first he wanted to take off on me and then he didn’t want to move at all! Then he did his little hop/buck thing and then a few minutes later he was just fine. Plus, I now have two new riding arenas! Not just one…but two!!!!!!!! We sectioned off a part of the pasture and added some extra fence so now I have a small arena and a big one!!!! I can use the small one for dressage and the big one for jumping and maybe even driving. (Mom wants to teach me and our little pony Cocoa to drive) YAYZ!!!!!!!!
undeadloner’s dog Rosie was put down this weekend. She’s really sad because Rosie was a great friend for her and she misses Rosie. Please go to her site and give her your condolences.
rawr! not much to say besides that my parents are gonna be out of the house for about 4 hrs, and then i'm going to babysit for the neighbors tonight so i can earn some money! i desperately need that! and, i also found where my parents hid my YGO cards so i took out the good ones and i'm gonna sell them. oh, yeah, and thank God for my dad b/c mom was trying to convince him not to let me and my bro on the computer on saturdays either. i already can't go on on sundays. and it's really unfair b/c my parents can go on any day they want. but at least dad didn't agree to the saturday thing.
i finished reading "to kill a mockingbird". it was pretty good. haha, everyone in school today was like, "you're already halfway through??!!?!" but i feel like i missed something at the end...hmmm...maybe i'll have to reread it.
The librarian just commented: “As long as our computers work, you’re happy.” Heh…it’s true.
I finished the Spanish movie last night!! I got everything finished at about nine (after running down to school frantically searching for a recharger b/c the battery in the camera went dead and wasn’t compatible with our recharger. Thankfully Mrs. G was still there and she had one). But then it took like another two hours to figure out how to burn it to a CD. This error message kept coming up, and then finally I tried to do it in another program and finally made it work at about 11 o’clock. (We burned it to a CD instead of a DVD b/c dad has more CD’s and didn’t want to use up a whole DVD for 8 minutes of movie. But the CD still works in a DVD player, the only down part is you don’t get to use the little interactive menu thingies.) Then I went downstairs to do my English hw but for some reason I misplaced the dictionary (maybe it got dragged back upstairs?) and I wasn’t going back upstairs to look for it b/c then my parents would get mad if they found out I put my other hw off that long. So I tried to do it today but the music teacher’s computer is sooooo slow that I only got half the words done so I cheated off a friend’s paper. (bad nanashi, bad nanashi) Just for the record, I usually don’t do that, but I was desperate.
But I was up till 12 reading “To Kill a Mockingbird” b/c that’s the book the English thing was on, and it’s not half-bad so I couldn’t quit reading it. Needless to say, I was pretty tired today and was really glad when we only had to run 25 laps in gym for Fitness Friday. (And I didn’t go to morning practice either, although it’s not like I have any games left that I’ll be playing in) Then I got out of the rest of gym to go chop veggies and such for our Spanish Club fiesta during lunch time, which was lots of fun. Plus, we’re finished with finals in Spanish class, and we’re having another fiesta during class on Monday…hooray!!!
