Later that night Shino and Karen make their way back to the hotel and collapse on the bed. The following morning Ash and Gary get up and head over to the gym by themselves. "Why doesn't she like me? I am rich. I'm good looking. What does he have that I don't? Why can't she fall for me?" Gary says out loud. Ash rolls his eyes and says "Maybe because you are an ass?" under his breath. They walk over to the gym and get in line. Gary goes in first and returns only a few minutes later. Ash goes in next and is met by Inferno. "So you are the famous Ash Ketchum of Pallet. I am Inferno of Brimstone. It is an honor to fight someone of your caliber. Please don't disappoint me. I have high hopes for this match." He says releasing a Slugma. Ash releases Ferialgtr and the match begins. "This should be a quick match." Ash says to himself. Ferialgtr cautiously looks around at the few scatted boulders. He investigates each one while Slugma slowly makes his way towards him. "Just attack it." Ash says. Ferialgtr flips Ash off. "Something isn't right." Ferialgtr replies. Inferno grins and nods at Slugma who takes off like a bullet towards Ferialgtr. Ferialgtr dives out of the way as Slugma smashes into the boulder and then oozes out of the hole. Slugma reforms himself as Ferialgtr checked himself over. "HYDROPUMP!!!" Ash yelled. Ferialgtr did as he was told and Slugma shot straight up the beam of water blew out the back of Ferialgtr's head. He dropped to his knees and then fell onto his face. Slugma sat on a boulder grinning at Ash who was shocked at what had just happened. "See what happens when you rush into things. Had you taken your time you could of pulled out a victory. Instead your pokemon died and you are to blame. Come back tomorrow if you want a rematch." Inferno says. Ash and Gary walk back in complete silence. Neither of them aware of the Agents or Team Rocket members following them. They flopped down on the couch at the Pokecenter and stared off into space. Each of them had been dealt a devastating loss today. Ash was still trying to figure out how a small ball of lava shot through the powerful beam of water and out the back of Ferialgtr's head. Gary had more then just figuring out how he had lost to Slugma as well. He was more interested in how he could win Karen from Shino. Ash was the first one to get up and leave. He went off to a nearby park and caught some pokemon. Then went to Shino's trailer to train them properly. Gary on the other hand never moved all day. Then it hit him. "The enemy of my enemy is my friend." He said to himself jumping up and running outside. All throughout the night Ash trained his new pokemon. Then slept till late afternoon. When he awoke he went back to training. Gary spent the entire day putting his new plan into action. Neither of them even bothered to go for their rematch. The thought never even crossed Gary's mind. He was too engrossed in his plan to win Karen. Ash was training so he could crush Inferno's Slugma. Around midnight or so Ash called it a night and went to bed. Gary sat in the hotel lobby waiting for Shino to come downstairs but to no avail. Shino and Karen were still in bed sleeping. At 7 a.m. sharp Ash was up, dressed, and at the Gym waiting for it to open. Very few people showed up that day. Most of the trainers have gotten their badge and have moved on. Once the door was unlocked Ash rushed in and stood in the box waiting for Inferno to take his place on the field. 2 hours later Inferno shows up and doesn't even apologize for being late. "So you decided to show back up. I thought for sure you had gone home with your tail between your legs." Inferno says. "Here is your little friend." He continued sending out Slugma. Ash ignores his comments and sends out a Golduck. "Trying the water over fire tactic again." Inferno says. "Just do what you need to." Ash says. Slugma launches toward Golduck and misses. Golduck begins burrowing and a large pool starts to form in the center. Slugma backs away from the rising water and seeks safety on a nearby boulder. Golduck surfaces in the middle of the pond and motions for Slugma to come and get him. Slugma looked around for a safe way to reach his target. Golduck sunk back into the water and vanished. A few seconds later a Psybeam shot from the water and shattered the boulder Slugma was sitting on. Slugma skipped across the water and landed on another boulder. Then he began glowing and the water started to bubble. Inferno smiled. Golduck jumped onto a boulder just before the water vaporized and flames shot through the ground. Golduck put the fire out on his tail and while he is distracted Slugma shot toward him. Golduck whipped around and used Psychic on him, splattering him like a waterballoon. Inferno nodded in approval. "Very impressive. You learn quickly how to overcome your opponents. Here is the Hell's Flame Badge. You earned it." Inferno says tossing him the badge. Ash thanks him and leaves. He walks back excitedly to the hotel. When he walked in Gary was still sitting on the couch waiting for Shino to come down. Around noon Shino and Karen came downstairs looking very well rested. Gary had given up and gone to bed only 15 minutes before. Ash showed his new badge proudly to them. "Good job. Looks like we will be leaving tomorrow then." Shino says shaking his hand. Karen also shakes his hand as well. "So where is Gary? Still at the gym trying to get his badge?" She asks. "No. He stayed up all night waiting for Shino to come down for some reason. He just went to bed." Ash replies. Shino and Karen both head out for a peaceful afternoon alone. They wandered around town hand in hand stopping at a few shops every so often. Following them were several Agents keeping constant watch over them. In a blink of an eye Shino vanishes and the Agents panic. Karen sits down at an outside café and looks over the menu. The Agents franticly search the area for him. One Agent is snatched into an alley and slammed against the wall. His radio is taken and slammed against the wall again. "Afternoon Agent. If you are going to follow someone then you must stay out of sight by blending in with the surroundings. You my friend stick out like a sore thumb." Shino says getting right in terrified Agent's face. "This is my first surveillance mission sir. Please don't kill me." The Agent replied whimpering. "I won't kill you. Just go back to your hotel and rest up. Tomorrow is going to be a challenge. I will be leaving at 8 a.m. Just leave now and tell your fellow Agents to do the same. I would heed my warning if I were you." Shino says and slams him once more before leaving. He sits down next to Karen and watches as the Agent delivers his message to the rest. With in a minute the Agents have all retreated. "I hope you were nice to that rookie Agent." Karen says. "I only slammed him against the wall a few times. Nothing to drastic. I was even nice enough to tell him when I was leaving tomorrow." Shino replies. They relax and enjoy their meal unaware of the Team Rocket members currently seated all around them. Gary is sound asleep and Ash is on the phone to Misty.

Shino and Ash walk silently through the head high grass. Shino is walking rather briskly with Ash right on his heels. "Why are we walking so fast? And why are we off the path so far?" Ash asks as Shino makes a sharp right turn. Several minutes later they walk into a small group of trees. Shino stops and shoves Ash to the ground behind a tree. "Shhhh." He says before disappearing into the grass. Voices are heard moments later. "Where did they go?" A female voice says. "How am I supposed to know?" A male voice says. Seconds later a muffled scream is heard and a few minutes later Shino grabs Ash, dragging him to the clearing a few feet away. Two people are tied up, gagged, and blindfolded on the ground. "What the.." Ash started to say before Shino interrupted him. "These two have been following us since we left. I know they aren't law enforcement with those stupid looking uniforms on." "They are Jesse and James of Team Rocket. And they have been following me and Pikachu for several years now." Ash explains. Shino removes their bindings and they jump up. "Try to run and you won't survive." He says coldly. "Why are you here?" He asks. "We were here to take that damn Pikachu. That was until we told our boss about you, Shino. Now our boss wants you and your Pokemon to join forces with us. If you refuse then we will have no choice but to take them by force." James says nervously. "Is that so? Well I obviously don't stand a chance against the likes of you." Shino says sarcastically. "Here's what's going to happen. I am going to leave you here (points to James) and take her with us. (Jesse's face lights up) After we leave you are then going to call your boss and tell him what happened and if he wants my pokemon then he better bring hell itself to take them from me." He says sternly. Then grabs Jesse's hand and walks off with Ash following. While they are walking Shino's cell phone goes off. He answers it and stops dead in his tracks. A minute later he hangs up and shakes his head. "What is this gang up on me day?" He says. "What's up?" Ash asks. "An international strike force just arrived in Purgatory (the first town where Ash landed) and they are after me." Shino replies. They start walking and when they reach the path they walk out right in front of Karen and Gary. Karen glares at Jesse who is holding Shino's upper arm. She quickly lets go after seeing the look in Karen's eyes. The 5 of them walk quietly all the way towards Brimstone (the next town). They come across the only rest stop between Soul Creek and Brimstone. Shino removes a pokeball from his necklace and his semi comes out of it. Shino climbs inside followed closely behind by Karen. The other 3 head over to the diner from some food. About 10 p.m. Shino comes out and heads for the diner. Jesse was walking out as he was walking in. "Call the other women Team Rocket members and tell them to leave the Team immediately if they value their lives." He says and walks inside. In the morning Ash, Gary, Shino, and Karen walk the last bit to Brimstone. They hit town a little after 4 in the afternoon. They walk by the Gym only to find out its closed. So they all head to a hotel. Shino lets his semi out and climbs into the trailer. An hour later Ash opens the trailer doors as Shino comes out. He is covered in sweat and blood. He is also out of breath and his nose is bleeding. "What happened to you?" Ash asks. "Sparring." Shino replies and Scizor comes out all banged up as well. Both of them rest for a few minutes after Ash went in the trailer to train. They head back in to clean themselves up. While they are doing that a black full sized SUV pulls into the parking lot next to them. They come out a little while later all cleaned up. Shino jumps from the trailer to the pavement where he is instantly tackled by 2 large men. He is handcuffed then thrown into the back of the SUV. Scizor looks around for a second before backing back into the trailer. Karen comes out a little while later in an evening dress. She goes into the trailer and sees Scizor resting. "Where is he?" She says. "Kidnapped a little bit ago." Scizor replies. "Great. Just fucking great. Only this could happen to him today." She says. Ash walks by. "Go clean yourself up. There is a carnival tonight and you are going. There is more to life then Pokemon. Try finding a girl for a change." Karen says and storms off. Gary tries to get her attention but she ignores him. Downtown, the SUV pulls into the back of the police station and the men get out carrying Shino. Inside one of the interrogation rooms Shino sits with his hands still handcuffed behind his back. A man walks in wearing an expensive looking suit and sits down across from Shino. "I would like to apologize for the rough way we grabbed you this evening but, dealing with criminals for a living, I have learned they don't usually accept an invitation and come here on their own." The man says. "I can see why but, I'm not like other criminals. I come to police stations on my own accord quite frequently." Shino says twisting his wrists. He puts his hands on the table with a broken and twisted handcuff still attached to one wrist. "I see. Where are my manners. My name is Agent Tendo and I am here to arrest you. It would seem that local law enforcement is incapable of doing the task." Tendo says. "Well that would be due to the agreement I have with them. If you aren't going to arrest me now then I shall be on my way." He says getting up. "One more thing talk to the President before coming after me. He may have some interesting facts for you." He continued opening the door. "Do the names Larry and Jerry ring any bells?" Tendo asks. Shino turns around and smiles. "Yes. Larry stalked and tried to rape Karen in high school. I beat the shit out of him. Then a few days ago he shot me and a dear friend, Aurora, who's brother Akurei beat him almost to death along with Jerry. I saw that on the news." Shino replies. "We talked to them. They said that you were there as well. They also said that payback is a mother fucker." Tendo says. "Are you going to arrest me?" Shino asks. "Not yet. We still need some more evidence. But mark my words we will get you." Tendo replies. "Better agents have tried and all have failed. You are going to need a hell of a lot more men. Good luck trying to follow me." Shino says walking off. Tendo smiles to himself. Ash drags Gary to carnival under orders of Karen who stayed at the hotel to wait for Shino. When he arrives he explains everything to her and then both of them head for the carnival. While they are there Shino notices several agents following them but he didn't notice was the dozens of Team Rocket members also following them. At the carnival Diego spots them. Diego is the same height as Shino and dresses mostly in white. He is also a couple years older. He sneaks up behind them and grabs Karen's ass. "Firm as always." He says. Karen slaps him. "Must you do that every time?" She asks. "Have you seen the latest headlines?" He asks holding up a newspaper. "Shinogami has finally has officially taken Karen off the market." Reads the headline over a picture of them walking holding hands. "Don't they have anything better to do?" Shino asks. "Speaking of which. Word around town is that you have caught the attention of the famous Agent Tendo." Diego says leading them away from the crowded street. Shino nods and Diego hands him a folder. "Here is all the info my sources could find on him. Just glancing it over you are going to have your hands full." Diego says. "What brings you here?" Karen asks. "We got a gig in a little bit. So I thought I would wander around." He replies. "See what you can dig up on a group called Team Rocket." Shino says. Diego smiles and taps the folder. "That is almost creepy." Shino replies. "I have some very revealing photos of Karen if you would like." Diego says holding up an envelope. Karen glares at him as the envelope bursts into flames. "Your head is mine!" Someone shouts and a gunshot is heard. A wall of solid ice surrounds them and the shooter. Shino grabs his arm where the bullet grazed it. Diego's arm has blood running down it. He walks over to the guy who is trying to break the ice. "What did I do to you?" Diego asks. "You stole my girlfriend from me." The guy replies. "What are you talking about? I have had the same girlfriend for the last 6 years." Diego says. "When she dumped me she said she had fallen for the guitarist in a band called Gauntlet." The man replies nervously. Diego wipes his face and says "I am the bassist for Gauntlet. Not the guitarist. You would want Paul or Slash." Diego snaps his fingers and the ice melts. The man runs off. "I see we have some of the similar problems." Shino says. The 3 of them head for the concert without any further incidents.

The following morning Ash and Gary are waiting for Shino and Karen to come downstairs before sunrise. About an hour later they come strolling through the front doors still dressed in their kimonos and are holding hands. Gary jumps up and rushes up to them. "Where the hell have you been? I would like to continue my journey sometime this week." Gary snaps at her. Shino steps in front of Karen and peers down at Gary. "Calm down. We were out together last night. No need to get all pissy, we had breakfast together as well. So sit down, Shut up, and wait patiently till we get showered and changed." Shino says lightly pushing Gary back into a chair. They go upstairs and get ready. An hour later they come back down dressed in their usual clothes which is jean shorts and a tight black tank top for Karen and baggy jeans with a black T-shirt and heavy biker boots for Shino. Also around Shino's neck is an inch thick logging chain necklace with 5 pokeballs in the links. "Let's go." Shino says grabbing Karen's hand. The 4 of them get to the Gym and a long line has formed already. "Damn! Had you not taken her last night, I could of gotten my badge already and we would of been on our way." Gary Says glaring at Shino while they walk to the end of the line. Karen drops Shino's hand and gives Gary a devastating right hook sending Gary to the ground. "What I do with Shino is my fucking business. I am not your girlfriend! I AM SHINO'S GIRLFRIEND!!! SO KNOCK IT OFF OR I'LL KNOCK THAT FUCKING HEAD OF YOURS OFF!!! YOU CONTROLLING PIECE OF SHIT!!" Karen screams at Gary. Every backed away and Gary sat there on the ground shaking. Karen grabs Shino's hand and storms off dragging him with. "Meet you inside." Shino says. A few hours later Ash makes it to the door and another hour later makes it inside. Shino is sitting on the sidelines with Karen sitting in his lap and her arms wrapped around his neck. Ash steps into the box and Paul steps back into his. "Ready small fry? I am going to use a Qwilfish against you so lets see what your precious little Pikachu can do against it." Paul says. Ash glares at him and is about to send him out but stops. There is no ground for Pikachu to stand on. "Plan B then. Lets use you and see how good you can do." Ash says to himself. He throws his pokeball into the water and a Ferialgtr swims to the surface. "Impressive, but too slow." Paul says and Qwilfish takes off like a rocket towards Ferialgtr. Qwilfish circles him for several minutes causing a whirlpool to form. It goes all the way to the bottom of the deep pool. Ferialgtr hasn't moved since he was let out. Shino looks at Ferialgtr closely and shakes his head. "Shit. This is going to be bloody." He says. Karen looks at him confused. "That was my Ferialgtr awhile ago before I released him." He explains. A massive hyperbeam cuts through the water and explodes right in front of Paul. Water rains down and the whirlpool has stopped. Qwilfish is nowhere to be seen. A splash is heard and Qwilfish floats up dizzy. Ferialgtr swims silently towards him. Suddenly the water turns murky and Feraligtr has disappeared. Seconds later Qwilfish is launched high into the air and recovers. He uses pin missile and as he hits the water a hyperbeam nails him vaporizing him. "Ash wins." Says the ref. "Shino I'll get you for this." Paul says smiling. "Sorry. I didn't realize it till it was too late." Shino replies. Paul throws the badge to Ash and says "Congratulations. That is the River of Death badge. You should be proud. Nobody beats me that quick." Ash leaves and a couple more hours later Gary finally gets into the box. "Now I can win this and show off for Karen." Gary says to himself. "Hey kid. I'm sorry but this is going to be a quick match. I have something I some place I have to be in 10 minutes." Paul says apologetically. Gary thinks for a second and sends out a Dewgong. "This should be easy." He thinks to himself. Paul holds back a laugh and lets out a rather large Lugia. Everybody backs up and the ref waves the green flag before backing up himself. Dewgong tries to dive underwater but Lugia catches him by the back of the neck and flings him into the air. Dewgong's neck snaps at that point which paralyzes him. He also hits his head on the side of the pool as he hits the water. Lugia flings him into the air a couple more times before catching Dewgong's head in his mouth and crushing it like a grape. Lugia then starts to slowly eat the rest. "Paul is the winner." Says the ref. Gary drops to his knees speechless. "Be here at sunrise tomorrow and I'll give you a rematch." Paul says walking by. All the other trainers leave and Gary walks slowly back to the Pokecenter. Ash is already there and packed. Shino pops in and says "Ash we'll leave at sunrise tomorrow. So rest up we got to walk to the next town." Shino leaves along with Karen. As the sunrises the next morning Ash and Shino escort Gary and Karen to the Gym. Karen shoves Shino inside and closes the doors behind her. A click is heard and they are locked in. A half hour they come out all out of breath and looking slightly flushed. Karen is walking funny and Shino's neck has a bite mark on it. Paul raises his eyebrow after looking them over. "You two are fucked up. Locking me out of MY OWN Gym like that so you can do that to each other." Paul says. "Relax we used the spare bedroom. I'll come by later and fix it for you." Shino says. Several of the female trainers blush as they realize what just happened. Karen kisses Shino again and he leaves along with Ash. Gary glares at Shino with pure hatred in his eyes. Shino waves and walks off with Ash. Karen sighs with a blissful look in her eyes. Gary goes inside and 20 minutes later wins the badge. He looks on the sidelines for Karen but she isn't there. A female trainer walks up to him and says "Karen told me to tell you to go get your shit packed if you win. She will be along after her shower." Gary nods and walks off with a depressed look on his face. A few hours later Karen shows up and they are off as well.

The following morning Ash and Gary are up early and headed towards the hotel. Gary gets to the front desk and says "Excuse me could you ring Shino's room please?" The guy behind the desk smiles politely and says "Shino? As in The Shinogami? (Gary nods) Sorry sir but I can not ring that room for you. Nor will I tell you what room he is currently staying in. I value my life and the lives of the other guests here." Gary shakes his head and storms off. Ash meanwhile has taken over a phone booth. "Hello Misty?... Good morning. How are you doing?... That's good. I am doing fine surprisingly... Yup Pikachu is getting stronger everyday. He says hi... No Shino is as bad as I thought he was. Although I can't figure out his relationship with Karen...Alright you take now and I'll call you in a few days." Ash says. He sits there pondering for awhile. Upstairs Shino and Karen are sound asleep in bed together. Downstairs Gary is fuming. "That bastard had his filthy hands all over her body and I couldn't stop it." He says to himself. Just then Scizor walks by. Gary jumps up and stops him. "Where is Karen?" He asks. "Probably still sleeping in bed with Shino. Why?" Scizor replies. "Because I want to get back on the road and win this damn tournament." Gary shoots back. "Slow down. Just Relax. Today is Sunday. The gym isn't open today. So go see the sights of the town. There are things here you can't get anywhere else. So shoo and if I were you leave Karen and Shino alone." Scizor says. Gary kicks a chair and storms out." "Annoying little shit." Scizor says and heads out to the trailer. Ash plops down in a booth at the hotel's restaurant. Around noon Gary comes back and asks the front desk if Shino has come down yet. The guy shakes his head no. "Just great. Today is a perfect day to spend with Karen and she spends it doing who knows what with that bastard. I wish there was a way to get rid of him." Gary wanders off plotting. During which time Ash has found several trainers and is currently whooping their asses with ease. No point in going into detail. Around 3 or so Shino wakes up and looks down to see Karen staring up at him. He squeezes her closer and she snuggles up closer. Another hour later they finally get up. "Shall we have that dinner tonight?" Shino asks. "Sounds good to me." She replies and slips into the bathroom. Shino walks out to the balcony and stares down at his semi below. Gary is spray painting something all of the semi. Shino walks back inside for a minute and returns with several oranges. He throws one at Gary narrowly missing him. Gary looks up surprised and sees Shino on the balcony then sprints inside. Shino walked back inside eating an orange. He unlocked the door and went down the long hallway to the elevators. A couple minutes later an elevator opened and Gary came rushing out. He swung at Shino who casually dodged it. Gary swung again and Shino blocked with his palm. Again Gary swung and again was blocked by Shino's palm. "Look here you pathetic piece of shit. That woman is too good for the likes of you. So why don't you crawl back into what ever hole you came out of." Gary says getting right in Shino's face. "It sounds like you think she is perfect for you? I realize she is too good for me but for some reason she loves me. I haven't a clue on why but she does. If you truly feel for her then you are doing the dumbest thing you can do." Shino replies. Gary looks at him and says "And would that be?" "Easy. A guy from high school did the same thing. They told me to stay away from her and never talk to her again. She over heard that and never talk to him again. As much as you dislike it I am not going any where. I am in debt to her and promised to watch out for her. Tell you what while I am getting cleaned up you use that opportunity to make her yours. If she does great if she doesn't tough shit. Got it?" Shino says eating another orange. Gary sits down in a nearby chair as Shino goes back to the room. A few minutes later Karen comes out in her oversized bath towel. Gary jumps up and greets her. He grabs her hands and starts confessing is love for her. Meanwhile Ash is in the trailer training under the supervision of Scizor who is badly beaten up. His arm is in a sling and there are dents all over his body. Also his right eye is swollen shut. Ash looks at him while Pikachu rests. "What happened to you?" He asks. Scizor looks at him and replies "My sparring partner got a little rough today this happened. Now get back to work." "Who the hell do you spar against?" Ash asks curiously. "One of Shino's other pokemon." Scizor replies. "He has pokemon that are stronger then you?" Ash asks surprised. "Let me put it this way. I am number 3 out of all his pokemon as far as overall goes. But as for victories and used most that's where I am number 1. Now enough questions and back to training. The rest of the gym leaders are going to be a lot tougher then Slash." Scizor replies. When Shino comes out of the bathroom Karen is sitting on the bed pondering something. Shino sits down next to her and drapes his arm around her shoulders. "So Gary confess his feelings for you?" He asks. Karen nods still lost in thought. "Shall I drive you two to dinner?" He asks with a smile. She glares at him and replies "Very funny. I rejected him. But he did bring up something that never occurred to me." Shino smiled as he said "Tell me about it at dinner. I have a surprise for you. So get ready." Shino and Karen both get dressed up in their traditional Japanese clothes again. These ones aren't the same as the night before. They head downstairs where a horse drawn carriage awaits them. Tears start to form in Karen's eyes as she sees the carriage. Gary glares at Shino from the lobby of the hotel till his phone goes off. Gary looks down and sees a new text message. "You have got to learn what a girl likes then use that to your advantage. Especially when you want to win Karen's heart." The message said. "That bastard Shino. Just wait I will make her mine and he will be out of the picture." Gary mutters to himself. Shino and Karen ride off into the near by forest. Gary grabs a nearby bicycle and rides after them. Karen cuddles up to Shino as they bounce down the path. "Your little love sick puppy is following us." Shino says. Karen kisses Shino's cheek and catches a glimpse of Gary out of the corner of her eye. "He doesn't get it. He thinks money means everything to a girl. He kept flaunting it when we were out that night. It was revolting." Karen says resting his head on Shino's shoulder. "I know. He'll figure it out eventually. How should we get rid of him? He could ruin the evening." Shino says. Karen smiles wickedly and the lays her head in Shino's lap. He tips his head back. Gary's eyes are as big as dinner plates after see such a public display. He loses control of the bike and smashes into a large tree. They pull up to the same traditional Japanese restaurant as the night before. Both of them go inside and the entire place is empty. Candles are everywhere and a huge buffet table is set up with all kinds of Japanese food. "Wow." Karen mutters. The owner walks up to Shino and bows. Shino bows back and they start talking in Japanese to each other. The man bows again and then leaves closing the doors behind him. Shino locks the door and Karen looks at him. "What was that about? And since when do you know Japanese?" Karen asks. Shino grins and grabs her hand lightly. "My dear. The owner said you are as beautiful as a spring morning and we have the whole place to ourselves." After an hour or so they are lying on their backs staring up at the night sky through the glass ceiling. "Earlier you were about to tell me something. What was it?" Shino asks. "Oh that. During Gary's little speech he got me thinking. We aren't dating. Yet everyone assumes we are. Which causes a lot of problems. You know how I feel about you. I want to know how you feel about me." She says rolling onto her side to look at him. Shino is still looking up at the sky. After several minutes of absolute silence Shino says "You want to know if I have the same feelings towards you. Well it was your smiling face that was the first friendly one I saw while I was in prison. You were also the only one who wasn't afraid of me." "Isn't afraid of you." She corrected him. "Right. Isn't afraid of me. You are always there for me no matter what. I would definitely say you are the only positive thing in my life. So I guess now would be a perfect time." Shino says getting up and extending his hand out. She gets up and Shino wraps his arms around her tightly. "Karen would you like to go out with me and by my girlfriend?" He whispers softly in her ear. Karen blushes and starts to cry into his chest. "I love you. Like I have since you stood in the doorway of my cell." He whispered into her ear. Karen hugs him tightly and Dearest from Inuyasha starts to play. They dance long into the night.

Shino and Ash are climbing the hill in the semi as Karen's voice comes over the CB. "Demon God, I can see you." She says. Shino grabs the mic and checks his mirrors. "Is that so Demon Goddess? And where might you be at?" He replies. Up the road Shino sees Gary's blue convertible pulled over with the hood up on the side of the road. Shino pulls his truck over in front of Gary's car and Gary rushes up to his door. Shino opened the door hitting Gary in the face accidentally. His nose started to bleed while Gary started cursing. "I already told you to leave her alone. We don't need your help. Now just leave." Gary says extremely pissed. Karen leaps into Shino's arms and kisses him deeply. Then whispers something into his ear. While she is whispering her cheeks began to blush. "That sounds like a good idea but we don't have that kind of privacy for me to properly relax you." Shino says with a wicked grin. Karen playfully slaps his chest and gives him another kiss. Gary cleared his throat and Karen says "Sorry, forgot you were standing there." Gary's jaw drops and Shino walks over to the car. He examines it and can't see anything so he lays down and crawls under it. Karen leans over the hood as she asks "See anything down there?" "Everything." He replies. Karen looks down at her feet and sees him looking up her skirt. She smiles as she says "You can look under my hood later. For now just get this thing running." Shino slides out with a few pieces of the engine in his hand. Scizor walks to the back of the car and holds on to it. Shino walks to the side of his trailer and opens a sidebox. He comes back with a couple heavy duty chains. Karen lets out her Celebi as Shino climbs under the car again. A moment later the front end slowly lifts up and Celebi fastens the chains to the car and to the trailer of the truck. Shino crawls out and dusts himself off. Gary stares in amazement. "You get to ride in here." Shino says to Gary. He is about to protest but Karen puts her finger to his lips. "A real gentleman would let the lady ride in the safety of the truck." Karen says as sweet as can be. Karen climbs into the truck as well as Shino. A minute later Ash climbs into Gary's car. "What are you doing?" Gary asks. "They threw me out." Ash replies as they start to move. A couple hours later they are back on the surface and an hour later they are pulling into a large port city. They stop at an auto repair shop and let Gary off with his car along with Ash. Shino drives his truck a few more blocks and parks at the lavish hotel just a few blocks from the pokecenter. Both of them go inside and shower up. Shino comes down first dressed in a full kimono and hakama pants (similar to Naraku). He walks outside and a black limo pulls up. He gets in and it drives off. Ash and Gary are confused at what just happened. Gary of course took it as she rejected Shino for him. Ash didn't really care. They waited around for about an hour and that's when Karen came down dressed in a beautiful kimono that was rather tight. Her hair was done up in a traditional Japanese style with the hairpins. Gary couldn't speak he just stared along with every other guy in the place. Even a few women were staring with lust in their eyes. She also climbed into a limo and drove off. Ash and Gary were dumbfounded. Shino was sitting in a traditional Japanese restaurant (low tables. no chairs just cushions. that kind of traditional.) waiting for Karen to show up. Karen had run into a bit of a problem. The limo she got into wasn't the right one. "So my plan worked perfectly." A very familiar voice said. Karen looked up and saw Larry smiling at her. "Shit. What a way to ruin a perfect day." Karen said as the limo cruised through town. It finally stopped in a garage of an abandoned warehouse. Larry pointed a gun at her and motioned to the open door. She got out and Larry quickly followed her while enjoying the view of his new captive. The driver of the limo lead the way to some room where a large oak bed with silk sheets and an Arcanine fur comforter was located. "Call Shino and tell him that something important has come up and you have to cancel your date." Larry said. "That is a bad idea." Karen said. The driver slapped her across the face hard enough to knock her onto the bed. Her cheek was bright red in the shape of his hand. "JERRY!! What the hell is wrong with you? You don't slap a woman as beautiful as her. Not until after I have ravished her succulent body." Larry said looking her over slowly. Karen pulled out her phone and made the call. "Hey Shino. Look Guadalupe and another friend invited me out for drinks so I won't be able to make our dinner. Huh? A nightclub on the south side somewhere. Ok. Love you too." She said and hung up. The last sentence stinging hard into Larry's heart. Jerry carefully lifted her up and forced her into a chair where she was tied to and gagged. She sat there quietly while Jerry and Larry locked the place up. Jerry was the first one back and stood there looking her over hungrily. Her phone went off and Jerry looked at the caller id. He removes her gag and she answered. "What's up Shino? Not tonight its a girl's night out. All of those plans we made earlier will have to wait till tomorrow. I know. I can't wait either. I am sorry for teasing you. Trust me tomorrow will be a night you won't forget. Alright love too." She said then Jerry hung up the phone. His mind was racing with dirty thoughts. He could do anything to her helpless body. "I have a better way to fill that mouth of yours." He said unzipping his pants. "Try it with that tiny thing and it won't be attached anymore." She said making a biting gesture. He was furious and punched her in the face hard enough to make her mouth and nose bleed as well as split her lip. He grabbed a nearby towel and held it over her nose. Larry walked in and saw the bloody towel. "What the hell? Must you beat on her. Damn! Find your own woman to beat on. I have major plans for her and at this rate she won't be able to perform some of them if you keep hitting her." Larry said in an extremely pissed tone. Jerry lowered his head and apologized. A loud bang was heard. Then Shino's voice saying "KNOCK. KNOCK. MOTHER FUCKERS!! YOUR FRIENDLY NEIGHBORHOOD SHINOGAMI IS HERE!!" His voiced echoed through the large empty warehouse. Larry and Jerry looked at each other terrified. His heavy boots were heard walking heavily throughout the place. Karen simply sat there quietly. They quietly closed the door and then quickly barricaded it with everything and anything they could find. They sat there as quiet as a mouse as the boots got closer. The handle on the door jiggled and Larry's and Jerry's heart stopped beating for a second. The jiggling stopped and the boots started to move again. Their hearts started to beat again. From out of nowhere a fist comes through the thin walls making all of them jump. Another fist comes through and rips part of the wall out. "Sorry to intrude but the door was locked." Shino says putting his foot through the wall. He continues till the hole is big enough for him to get through. He stands there in his heavy biker boots, baggy black leather pants, black T-shirt, black leather trenchcoat that barely misses the floor, black sunglasses, and black bandana over his hair. He looks around and sees Karen along with Larry. "Who the hell are you?" he asks Jerry. "I'm his cousin Jerry." He replies sheepishly. Shino pulls out his cell phone and calls someone. "Yo. Have I got the greatest gift for you. Come to the abandoned warehouse on Core road. Can't miss it. My bike is out front. Yeah I'll wait." He says and puts his phone down. He leans against the wall and smiles. While he looks around he sees the bloody towel that was discarded at some point. He looks at Karen and notices the dried blood on her face. "That's her blood isn't it?" Shino asks pointing at the bloody towel. Larry gulps and says "Yes but there is a perfectly good reason. She tripped and fell." Shino walks over to Karen and unties her. "There is no dirt on her. Tell me. Do you know why people call me Shinogami?" Shino says pulling the large oak bed one handed with ease to the corner of the room. Karen sits back on the bed. They shake their heads no. "I was giving that name when I was in prison when I first came here. I was put into a cell with a child molester by the father, who was a guard, of a high schooler I killed which got me to prison. The next day the guards found me in the middle of the cell with the child molester and the guard. I pulled a full grown man through the narrow bars of my cell and then beat the molester to death with my bare hands. Blood and body parts were everywhere. The guards then put me into solitary confinement. A few days later a guard looked into my cell and jumped at what he saw. My eyes were on fire, but not with a normal fire. (removes his sunglasses and closes his eyes) No, there was a very dark purple almost black fire coming out of my eye sockets. (Looks at them with his eyes burning with dark purple flames. Making both of them jump) From then on they called me Shinogami." Shino explained. Larry and Jerry gulped again and their faces went pale as milk as they listened to the story. A motorcycle was heard in the distance and was coming fast. It stopped and a few seconds later footsteps where heard heading straight for them. Akurei stepped through the hole in the wall and smiled. "This is why you called me? You were right this is a great gift." Akurei says. Akurei towered over Shino and even more so over Jerry and Larry. Larry is 5 foot 4 inches. Jerry is a few inches taller about 5 foot 9 inches. Akurei is a staggering 7 foot 6 inches and Shino is 6 foot 4 inches tall. Larry stands up and says "Alright you have caught us now its time to call the police so they can arrest us." Akurei says with a slight laugh "That is a nice try but after what you did to Aurora you think I am just going to hand you over to the cops just like that? You are definitely dumber then you look." "Judging from the history between Larry and Karen its a safe bet that your stupid ass hit her." Shino says to Jerry. "You guys really picked a bad day to do this." Karen says scooting back on the bed. Shino was showing no signs of injury from the night before. Larry stood up to Akurei and says "You hit me and I'll have your ass behind bars for assault." Akurei smiles and replies "If you can survive what I am going to do to you then I'll turn myself in." Larry's eyes widen and be backs away. He remembers his pistol and quickly draws it. Neither Akurei or Shino flinch. He aims at Karen who doesn't react. "If I can't have her then neither will you." Larry says. Akurei rolls his shoulders and sprints forward clotheslining Larry with so much force that he does a complete backflip and lands on his face causing the wooden floor beneath them to crack. Jerry jumps back to the corner. Akurei reaches for the gun and the floor gives out. Larry and Akurei fall through and crash through the floor beneath them as well and finally hit the hard cement floor of the basement. Both Shino and Jerry looked down the hole. Buried under all the debris, Akurei slowly gets up and surveys the damage. "Son of a bitch." He says looking up. Shino looks over at Jerry. "Tell me. Why did you hit her?" He asks. "The bitch deserved it. Questioning a man's order." Jerry said smugly. Shino scratched the back of his head and says "So you have those kind of beliefs. What did she do?" "The bitch talked back to Larry so I slapped her. Then she had the audacity to threaten to bite my genitals off. So I punched her." He replies. Shino takes off his coat and hands it to Karen. "Master, how would you like him disposed of?" Shino says to Karen bowing to her. "You may dispose of him with extreme force any way you see fit." Karen says sarcastically. Jerry looks at the scene before him in disbelief. "Why do you call that..." Jerry says before he is interrupted by Shino glaring at him. Shino turns back towards Jerry and walks towards him but the hole separated them. Jerry smiled as he realized his safe position. The hole completely blocked Shino from getting to Jerry. Down the hole Larry was coming around. Akurei had pulled him from the rubble and waited patiently. Larry slowly stood up and as he turned around Akurei caught him with a right jab. Larry stumbled back and Akurei continued his vicious onslaught of punches to his body and face. Larry backed against the wall and Akurei laid into him with a barrage of body shots. Shino smiled and floated gracefully over to Jerry. Just before Shino touched the ground Jerry tried to kick him. Shino caught his leg and yanked it so that Jerry fell down the hole back first. Shino floated down and landed next to a gasping Jerry. He grabbed him by the shirt and lifted him to his feet before slamming him viciously into the cement wall which cracked. Akurei grabbed his prey by the throat and threw him across the room. Larry smashed through a brick support column. Shino glanced back and that gave Jerry the second he needed. He drew his 9mm pistol and unloaded the entire clip into Shino's chest. He stumbled backwards, looking at the blood flowing from his chest. Akurei looked at Shino and started over to him but he was waved off by Shino. Shino turned his head back to Jerry and walked back towards him. Shino dropped to one knee and punched him in the stomach so hard he went through the cement wall. Shino climbed through the hole and disappeared into the darkness. Akurei casually made his way over to Larry. "Still alive huh? I'm impressed." He said crouching down next Larry. Larry opened his eyes and tried to focus them on who was talking. "Karen?" Akurei yells. "Yeah." She replies. "Anything special you want done to this guy?" He asks. She thinks for a minute before replying "Just don't kill him. Other then that do as you please." While his attention is elsewhere Larry takes the opportunity to get a cheap shot in. He lunged towards Akurei and punched him in the nuts. Akurei groaned and fell backwards. Larry got up and started stomping on Akurei. Inside the dark hole Jerry was having a very terrible time. It is hard to defend yourself in total darkness. The only light came from Shino's eyes. The dark purple flames where a raging inferno now. Larry went for another stomp and this time Akurei caught his right foot. He squeezed it to the point where bones could be heard cracking. Larry began screaming at the intense pain coming from his foot. Akurei continued to apply more pressure making the cracking sounds louder. When he was done several bones were sticking through his shoe. Akurei got up and noticed another brick support column. Karen came out of the stairwell with a lead pipe in her hands. "You stupid son of a bitch. You ruined a perfect day. I had Shino all to myself for once and you pull this fucking shit! You won't be walking ever again." She says smashing the pipe down repeatedly on his right knee. Her blows moved up and down his leg. Akurei simply leaned against the wall and lit up a cigarette. While he smoked he wandered over to the hole. He peered in and what he saw made him jump. Jerry burst through the wall again making a new hole. Jerry somehow got up and tried to run for the stairs but Karen stopped him by swinging the pipe full swing at his face. Jerry never saw it coming. He laid there twitching and coughing up blood. He was literally covered from head to toe in his own blood. Shino walked over to Jerry and grabbed his left hand. "This is the hand you used to cause Karen pain. From this day forth it won't be used ever again." He says squeezing it till every single bone from his shoulder down to his finger tips were completely obliterated. His breathing slowed way down and he laid there twitching. Akurei put a hole through the bottom of the brick support column. Then he dragged Larry over by his left leg and put that into the hole. "Any last words mother fucker?" Akurei asks. Larry tried to wiggle out but didn't make it. Shino and Akurei knocked out the remaining bricks around Larry's leg. The column smashed down completely crushing his leg from mid-thigh to a couple inches above his ankle. The pain was too much and he passed out. Karen stood next to Larry still holding the pipe. She jammed it through his right hand. Shino put his hand on hers and helped her push the pipe into the cement floor. Akurei then bent the pipe till it was pressing against Larry's chest. The 3 of them looked around at the damage they had caused before walking out. Akurei shook Shino's hand as he says "Aurora is going to be pissed at me. I promised to leave him alone. Whoops. Take it easy." He got on his bike and rode off. Shino got on his bike as well as Karen and they rode back to the hotel. Once they entered Gary rushed up to them. "Where were you guys? I must of called every restaurant in town looking for you." Gary says. Shino grabs Gary by the shirt and pulls him close. "Now is not the time." He says giving him a slight shove. Karen and Shino head up to their room leaving Gary standing there. Karen flips on the TV and the news comes on. "Good evening everyone. Tom Ivory here with this late breaking story. Akurei of the popular band Gauntlet has turned himself in to local authorities. According to our sources several days ago a Pokemon Trainer named Larry had tried to assassinate Shino but ended up shooting Aurora in the leg instead. The two meet up in town today where Akurei decided to seek his revenge. The images you are about to see are extremely graphic. ( the camera pans around the basement of the factory) As you can tell the battle was very fierce. In the end Larry and his cousin Jerry were miraculously alive. Although it will take sometime to remove Larry. As more of this story we will continue to update you. Now onto sports." Tom explains. Karen turns off the TV and heads for the hot tub where Shino is currently trying to remove the bullets himself.

Gary drives by Shino and says "Don't worry about a thing tonight. I'll be taking very good care of her. Later." They drive off and Ash turns to Shino. "Aren't you worried about him stealing her from you? Or even her safety?" Ash asks. "Nope to both questions. If he tries anything she doesn't like then her pokemon will defend her. All of which were hand trained by me and my 2 best pokemon. Contrary to popular belief the 2 of us aren't actually dating. So if he wins her heart then more power to him. Now lets get going." Shino replies. The 2 of them walk on to the gym in silence. Ash opens the door and walks in. Its a typical earth gym, nothing fancy. "So you are the first trainer to enter. I would say I'm surprised but looking at the company you keep. I'm not." Someone says from across the gym. The lights come on and a man in military camo is standing there. Shino smiles and says "Slash. So you got stuck as number one. Ouch." Shino says. Slash shrugs and smiles while he says, "Yep. Its fine though my pokemon skills aren't that good. So lets get it on!" He says snapping his fingers. Ash takes up his position as well as Slash. Ash sends out his first pokemon, Pikachu. Shino shakes his head and sits down on the sideline. Slash sends out a Steelix and says "This should be interesting." The ref raises the green flag and the match starts. Steelix smashes his tail onto Pikachu but, he dodged at the last second. Pikachu quickly runs up Steelix's body. Just before Pikachu reaches Steelix's head Steelix dives into the ground. Pikachu climbs out of the hole and looks around. Its quiet for several minutes till the ground begins to shake violently. Steelix burst through the ground right under Pikachu which sends him flying. "Now Pikachu! Thunder!!" Ash yells. Pikachu thunders Steelix right in the mouth and it electrocutes him. Both fall to the ground and Steelix doesn't move. The ref runs out and checks him. "Match over. Ash and Pikachu win!" The ref says. Pikachu jumps into Ash's arms and Ash does his usual celebration thing. Slash hands him a badge. "Congratulations Ash! You are the first person to win the Hell's Gate badge. Good job." Slash says shaking Ash's hand. Since its early afternoon Gary is out getting a tuxedo for his big evening and Karen is getting a dress. Shino and Ash have split up. Ash is off to celebrate his victory while Shino heads towards downtown on foot. In case this wasn't clear this town is in a cave underwater. There is no natural light. Gary pulls up in front of Karen's dress shop. She steps out in a beautifully elegant dress just as Shino happened to walk by. "Beautiful as always." He says making her blush slightly. Gary gets mad and says "Hey! Why are you here? This is our date. That means no you!" "Relax. I am just passing by on the way to my favorite place. This was entirely coincidence. No need to be pissy." Shino says as he gives Karen a hug. Gary glares at him until he is out of sight. "What exactly do you see in him?" Gary asks. Karen simply smiles and climbs into the limo. Shino walks down a narrow alley and disappears into a tiny teahouse. Meanwhile Ash is at the Pokecenter on the phone. "Hello Misty? Guess what? I am the first person to win a gym badge in the Dark Islands." Ash says. A click is heard and then dead silence. Ash sits there for several minutes dumbfounded. A couple hours have passed and Ash is still stumped on why Misty hung up on him. Gary on the other hand is having an excellent time with Karen. Shino has left the small teahouse and is headed back to his semi. On his way he passes a park that has several teens playing football. They see Shino and run over. He is quickly surrounded and the leader says "You're the guy everyone is after. That supposed badass that is unstoppable in pokemon battles." The teens start beating him profusely. Shino gets knocked down and then they start stomping on him. After several minutes Shino is lying there covered in his own blood. He simply gets up and limps on his way. The teens are stunned by the lack of emotion and the zero effort he made to stop them. Down the way some younger kids are playing baseball in the street. A ball rolls up to Shino's boot. He looks down at it and as he is picking it up a wooden baseball bat smashes into his face shattering the bat as well as Shino's facial bones. He falls to the ground and those kids swarm to him. They bring all their bats and start swinging. Finally the kids grow weak and Shino sits up. He gets up to his feet and the kids run for their lives. As his semi comes into view a pick up truck pulls up next to him and a glass beer bottle smashes into the side of his skull. He looks at the 4 guys in the truck through all the blood flowing down his face. The truck stops and they get out armed with glass bottles, lead pipes, chains, and a cattle prod. Each of them take a turn beating Shino. For almost 2 hours they beat him. When they finished Shino laid there motionless. A woman walking out of a coffee shop sees him laying there and rushes over. She looks at him and recognized him. Instead of calling for help she dumps her scalding hot coffee on his face. After she leaves Shino gets up very slowly and limps even slower to his semi, which has been vandalized. Holes in the trailer walls, broken windows, slashed tires, and graffiti all over it. He climbs into the trailer and shuts the door. A blood trail can be seen all the way from his first beating to the semi. Scizor shakes his head from his seat on top of the trailer. The following morning Ash comes out to the truck and sees its terrible condition as well as the blood. He runs to the back ready to yell at Shino but Scizor stops him. "Take it easy. That's Shino's blood so no need to get all worked up. Just go wander around town for awhile. I have already sent for help. It should be here shortly." Scizor explains. "What happened to him?" Ash asks. Scizor ignores him and shoves him away. A few minutes later Karen and Gary pull up. "Again?" She says. Scizor simply nods and motions to the trailer. Gary gets out of the car and just stares at the scene before him. Karen climbs into the trailer to see Shino laying face down in a large pool of his own blood. The door on the metal chamber shuts and Karen rushes to his side. "Why must you do this every time you come here?" She says to him. She pulls out a pokeball and lets out a pokemon. It materializes and a Celebi is standing there. "He did it again I see. Don't worry I'll fix him up." Celebi says, "Bastard always makes me fix him up when he does this shit. I swear if it wasn't for Karen I'd be gone." He mutters to himself as he checks Shino over. Karen climbs out of the trailer and looks at the blood trail. Gary stands there waiting for someone to explain what's going on. Scizor ignores him and follows Karen. The 2 of them follow the trail to its origin. They returned a little while later and Celebi was floating around. "Well I set the bones as best as I could and I also popped his dislocated parts back into place. He won't be leaving the trailer for awhile. He should be back to normal by tonight. Somewhat anyways. He is going to be sore for days after that beating." Celebi says going back to his pokeball. Ash shows up and he and Gary demanded an explanation. "Okay. About 3 years ago Shino was involved in a large riot here. Over 50 people were killed, including a few small children and several women. Although the official causes of death were them being trampled by a large group of people. The people blamed Shino because he caused them to run. Although somebody had drawn a gun and several small bombs which is why people were scared. Shino stepped in to make peace but that didn't help. Shino blames himself for the innocent people dying so as atonement for it. Every time he comes here the people gang up and beat him and he doesn't fight back." Karen says her voice cracking slightly. "Thanks for coming over, but you can leave if you want. I'm sure Gary is anxious to get his badge." Scizor says. Gary and Karen leave as well as Ash who goes into the pokecenter. Later that day Karen comes back on foot and goes into the trailer. Ash is still in the pokecenter trying to get a hold of Misty and Gary is sleeping in his hotel room after successfully winning the badge. The following morning Ash comes out of the pokecenter and sees Shino repairing his semi. He is limping severely. "How are you up and about after such a beating?" Ash asks. "You have seen the equipment that heals pokemon at the pokecenter right? Sorta like that." Shino replies as he puts the new windshield in place. An hour later Gary shows up. "What did you do to her?" He asks. "Nothing. She just slept next to me while I was being treated." Shino replies. "I want you to stay away from her completely. If I see you near her then I'll be the one that ends your life." Gary says coldly. Shino starts laughing and stops quickly because his ribs aren't completely healed. Gary storms off. A couple hours later Karen gets up and strolls out of the trailer. "Good to see your up and feeling better." She says giving him a hug. Shino tells her what Gary had said and an wicked smile comes over her sultry lips. Gary pulls up moments later and glares at Shino. Ash comes out of the pokecenter with his stuff and tosses it into the semi. "Well my love it appears my client is ready to go so I'll see you later." She says giving him a long passionate kiss. She pulls him closer and is literally hang on him. Gary is in total disbelief of what she is doing in front of him. A few minutes later she breaks the kiss and looks at Shino with flushed cheeks and out of breath. "You behave yourself this time. And if you do I'll give you a special treat." She says giving him a another deep kiss. As she jumps into the car she turns back to Shino and says "I love you!" Gary floors it and off they go. "She is so mean." Shino says as he goes back to work. "How so?" Ash asks. "What you just saw was mostly just an act. She is usually not like that. Gary must of done something she didn't like." Shino replies. About an hour and a half later Shino and Ash are on their way as well.

As the sun was coming over the horizon dozens of trainers were already headed to Hell's Gate. A podium stood off to the side and banners were hung everywhere. Police were directing traffic for the few trainers that could drive. Shino's semi was up front and pointed at the Gate. Gary parked his blue convertible on the left side of Shino's semi. Gary and Ash both got out and looked around. More people were headed their way. Ash turned to Gary with his hand out. "Good luck Gary." Ash says shaking Gary's hand. "You too Ash." Gary replies. They split up and mingle with the other trainers. About an hour goes by and Gary pounds on Shino's truck. The door whips open and Shino glares down at Gary. Gary gulps and says "I would like to speak to Karen." Shino yells for her and she stands next to Shino. Her hair is wrapped up in a towel and she is wearing a robe. "Whatcha want?" She asked happily. Gary looks at her and says "I was wondering if you were going to ride with me today?" "Of course. I am getting my things together now. I'll be ready shortly." She replies and disappears back into the truck. Shino closes the door and disappears as well. Gary lets out a huge sigh and smiles. "Just wait." He says to himself. Meanwhile Ash is getting his provisions when he bumps into a girl with long red hair. Before he can apologize to her she disappears into the crowd. More trainers arrive and it is quickly packed so Ash heads back to Shino's semi. Just before he could knock on the door it opens and a duffel bag flies out hitting him in the face. He got up and bumped straight into Karen's chest. Shino grabbed Ash's shoulder and pulled him out. "Don't want you to start grabbing. That would be bad." Shino says as Ash's face turns red realizing where he just was. Shino puts Karen's bags into Gary's car. Gary is just beaming with joy. Karen puts a small box onto his dashboard and Shino hooks it up. "What is that?" Gary asks. "Its a CB radio." Karen replies. Gary rolls his eyes. The crowd starts to cheer as Prof. Willow stands at the podium. "Ladies and Gentleman. Trainers of all ages. Today is truly a day we can all be proud of. For a few reasons. The first reason being the obvious. We are starting our official league today. Another we have two of the greatest pokemon trainers in the world. Ash and Gary (the crowd cheers) here to compete as well as our own infamous Shino (the crowd goes nuts). Who in fact made history yesterday. When he started he had a total of 9,236 victories and when he defeated the 774 contestants that gave him over 10,000 wins in a row. He has the most pokemon battles won in a row of all time! (again the crowds goes nuts. Shino simply waves to the crowd.) Now in 5 minutes the gate will open and you will be off. Good luck to all of you!" Prof. Willow says and walks off. Shino loads Ash's stuff into his semi as Maurice walks up with a evil grin on his face. "Whatever you are planning I am not falling for it." Shino says when he sees Maurice. "Oh come on all I have to say is why not make a friendly little wager." Maurice says winking at Gary. "And what would that be?" Shino asks. "As you are aware Shino the next town is just over 100 miles from here. And its almost down hill all the except the last 10 miles or so. (In case any readers are wondering the next town is in a cave below the ocean.) Why not have a friendly little race between your semi and Gary's convertible?" Maurice explains. "What does the winner get?" Gary asks. "Just an all expense paid night out on the town by yours truly and a room at the most luxurious hotel in town." Maurice says. "Figures." Shino replies. "I'm in!" Gary says. Shino shrugs and shakes Gary's hand. They climb into their vehicles as news quickly spreads about the bet. Maurice smiles wickedly. "Why aren't we walking to the next town? I want to catch some pokemon." Ash asks. "Because there are no pokemon till we get to the second town. All the trainers who don't drive will be taking the bike route which is a small road on the side of the major road. Besides no one will be battling each other till the second town. They want to be first to get the first badge." Shino explains as he double checks everything. Karen looks over at Gary and smiles. "Relax." She says and pats his shoulder. Tonight I will be spending the night with her and with any luck she will forget all about that loser. I got a car and he has a semi this will be a piece of cake." Gary says to himself. The gate starts to open and Gary revs his engine. Shino laughs and revs his as well and drowns out Gary's. The gate opens completely and off they go. Gary takes off like a shot leaving Shino behind. Several other cars pass Shino as well as a few bikes. But as Shino gains speed he passes a few cars and all the bikes that passed him. Scizor gets up and looks out the window. "You let him talk you into another race didn't you." Scizor says shaking his head and heading back to the bunk. A few moments later anime music is heard and Ash looks back. "What are you watching Scizor?" He asks. "It's called Ai Yori Aoshi." Scizor replies slightly annoyed. "Is that a girl's show? Ash asks. Scizor growls and replies "No. It is considered a romance. Say another word about it and your precious Pikachu becomes breakfast." Ash turns back to the road. He notices that the scenery is whipping by and glances at the speedometer. "Are we really going 175 mph?" Ash asks. "No. We are going 190 mph. The speedometer tops out at 175 mph." Shino replies. Ash looked forward again and saw that the road disappeared. Suddenly they were headed into the mouth of a cave. Shino grabs the CB mic and says "Demon Goddess are you listening?" A second later A voice from the box replies "Yes Demon God. Where are ya at?" "On my way. Only a few miles behind you." He says. "Well better hurry. Gary seems pretty eager to take me out tonight. Who knows he may get lucky?" A minute later a small blue car comes into view. "Heh" Shino says flipping a switch. Fire shoots out the side of the front end. "Look behind you Demon Goddess." Shino says laughing. Gary looks in his review mirror and sees a fireball chasing him. He freaks out and hits the gas harder pushing the car to its limits. Shino turns the fire off and easily catches up to Gary. Then passes him and keeps going. "Get behind him and ride his bumper. What ever you do don't take your foot off the gas." Karen says. The road levels out again and both of them aren't letting up. Shino's truck starts to lose speed because the momentum from the hill wore off. Gary pulls into the next lane and starts to pass Shino. As they do Scizor jumps out and lands in the backseat making Gary jump. "What the hell are you doing here?" Gary asks. "Don't worry about him he isn't going to do anything to cheat you. Just keep going." Karen says. Just before the finish line Scizor jumps out and grabs the back of the car. He starts to slow it down as Gary brakes. They cross the finish line and moments later Shino barrels by in a cloud of smoke with all 18 wheels locked up. He stops and and gets out of the truck. Maurice walks up as the two racers shake hands. "Congratulations Gary. As promised you win an all expense paid night out with the gorgeous Karen. Plus the suite at the best hotel in town. Enjoy." Maurice says laughing. Shino grabs Karen's hand and kneels. He kisses her hand and says "See you tomorrow." He gets up and turns toward Ash. "Ready for that Gym badge?" Shino asks.

The following morning just before sunrise Ash and Gary walk out of the Pokecenter. Shino's semi is gone and cars are heading west. They follow and as they get closer a massive iron gate comes into view. It stands about 30 feet tall and 20 feet wide. In font of the gate a carnival has started. With games, rides, food, and vendors of pokemon equipment. To the far right Shino's semi is parked with a line forming. "Why are you lining up?" Ash asks a nearby kid. "Its to challenge The Great Shinogami." The kid replies excitedly. The line quickly grows and there is easily over 200 people waiting and still growing. Gary jumps into line and says "Come on Ash, Let's see how tough this guy really is." Ash shakes his head and heads for the Grandstand. At 7 a.m. Shino and Karen step out of the truck and the crowd goes wild. Ash has a feeling there is more to this guy then he let's on. Shino walks onto the battlefield where he is met by Scizor. Prof. Willow grabs the microphone and walks onto the field. "Ladies and Gentlemen. Trainers of all ages. Welcome to Hell's Gate. Tomorrow morning all of these brave trainers will walk through the gate and make history by being the first group of trainers to begin their quest as an official league. Congratulations to all of you. Anyway, today we have an open challenge to everyone. You get to fight against Shino. Not just for honor but there is a $50,000,000 cash prize to whoever beats him and $1,000,000 to whoever can last more then 5 minutes. Good Luck and may the first trainer come on out." He says. Shino shakes the kid's hand and each of them head back to their boxes. "Is he really that good?" Ash asks. "Scizor has just over 9,200 victories and no losses. They have never lost and the average match is under 30 seconds." The guy next to him says. The ref raises the green flag and the contestants send out their pokemon. Scizor and Nidoking square off. A split second later Scizor is standing behind Nidoking with his back to him. Nidoking's head falls to the ground and blood squirts into the air. The crowd goes crazy. "NEXT!" Willow yells. The next contestant steps into the box. "Go Pikachu!" The kid yells as he tosses the pokeball. Pikachu doesn't even get a chance to get out of the pokeball completely before Scizor kills it. This goes on over and over. "Number 305 your up." Willow says. The kid throws out a Steelix and the crowd "ooohs" and "aaahs". Scizor is 6 feet tall and Steelix is around 40 feet. Unlike the other 304 pokemon Steelix actually gets an attack in. He uses Iron Tail and smashes Scizor into the ground. The dust settles and Scizor is gone. "Could it be? Has Shino and Scizor finally lost?" Willow says. Suddenly Steelix starts bashing his tail into his own head repeatedly. His eyes start glowing then a second later they explode. The lifeless body collapses to the ground and Scizor walks out of the smoking eye socket. The crowd cheers again and Scizor waves. Gary steps into the box and the crowd gets louder. It has been around 3 hours since the match started and Scizor shows no sign of fatigue. Gary sends out a Charizard and Scizor laughs. The field starts to change again and Shino walks to his semi. When the field is done Shino has set up a large flat screen HDTV along with a PS3 and a large comfy couch. Shino starts playing Dynasty Warriors 6 and the match begins. The field has changed from electric to ice. Scizor runs from ice block to ice block while Charizard melts them just as fast. Charizard launches a fire ball in front of Scizor's path. It melts a large hole and Scizor falls into the freezing water. Within seconds the hole has covered over. Charizard begins celebrating as well as Gary. Shino is still playing his game and Willow gets on the microphone. "Well folks it appears Scizor has finally lost." Willow says as the ice begins to glow. Shino puts on a pair of sunglasses as the entire field glows. A massive beam that covers the entire field shoots into the air. A passenger airplane flying high in the sky, vaporizes the second the beam hits it as well as the carcasses of the other pokemon. The beam stops and Scizor climbs out of the hole that was the field. A new field comes into place and Gary is standing there dumbfounded. Scizor walks over and roundhouse kicks Gary out of the box. Another trainer takes his place and the battles continue. Around 4 o'clock in the afternoon the line is finally down to its last 3 people. Willow grabs the microphone and tells everyone that its the last call for competitors. Only 1 person jumps into the line. Scizor is showing slight fatigue and the next 3 trainers drop in under a minute. "Ladies and Gentlemen this is the final chance to fight Shino. (waits a few seconds) Ok bring out the final challenger." Willow says. Shino turns off his game and stands up. The kid throws out a pokeball and out pops a Scizor with a scar down the left side of his face. Shino's Scizor looks at him for a second and smiles. "So you finally come to seek revenge, huh?" The scarred Scizor smiles and replies "So you do remember me. I am honored. I have perfected my own fighting style that will leave you begging for mercy. Prepare to die!" Scizor grins wickedly and they attack each other. Sparks fly when their claws connect. The entire crowd has fallen deathly silent as the sparks and dust fly. Shino looks on laughing. A buzzer goes off signaling that 5 minutes have passed. The Scizors are going blow for blow. Neither of them have the upper hand until the scarred one pulls off a leg sweep. Scizor lands on his back and hops back to his feet. He quickly punches the scarred one in the gut, lifts him over his head and slams him on his back. Scizor backs off and checks himself over for any serious injuries. "I have yet to see anything impressive. Just like I thought you are all talk and no guts to back it up. This ends now." Scizor says. The scarred one gets up and Scizor rushes him. Just before they make contact the scarred one launches a massive hyperbeam at point-blank range. Scizor tumbles backwards as the crowd gasps. The scarred one walks over to Shino while Scizor lays there motionless. "You're next so stay put." He says to Shino. Shino simply smiles and points to Scizor who has gotten to his feet. "So the banished one has survived. I'm not that surprised. Try this." The scarred one says as they rush toward each other. Scizor blocks the punches and cuts off the scarred one's arms. "I may be banished but at least my bloodline will still continue unlike yours." Scizor says and cuts his head off. The scarred Scizor falls to the ground and Scizor raises his arms in victory. The crowd goes nuts with cheers. Ash sits there amazed while Gary watches from the first aid tent. Shino walks over to the kid (who had the Scizor) and gives him the $1,000,000. They shake hands and Shino walks back to Karen. "Shall we head to the carnival?" Shino asks extending his hand. Karen grabs it and they walk off.

The following morning Ash walks out the front door of the Pokecenter and is greeted by a very happy and cheerful Karen. She is dressed in jeans shorts and black tank top with a demon skull on the front. "Morning Ash." She says smiling. "Morning. Where's Shino?" Ash replies. She points to a black semi and Shino climbs out of the cab. "Well Ash, ready to get started?" Shino says and opens the trailer doors. *(the trailer is like the ones for NASCAR)* Ash and Shino climb in. There is a metal wall a couple inches from the trailer doors. Right in the middle is a door. Shino opens the door and motions for Ash to go in. He goes in and Shino follows. Inside is an endless white space. To the left is a metal chamber with "DO NOT TOUCH OR YOU WILL DIE HORRIBLY" on it. "Welcome to my training area. If you ever want to leave just look for that and the door will be next to it." Shino says as Karen walks in carrying a towel. "What is this place?" Ash asks in amazement. "Have you seen the Matrix movie? (Ash nods) Something like that. Anyways, here you can do what ever you want. There is a large pool that is capable of making all kinds of currents for water training. A battlefield that changes to any kind of elemental field you desire. An agility course, target range, and anything you could ever want to train with." Shino explains pointing to everything. "What about training against other pokemon?" Ash asks. Shino smiles and walks over to the battlefield. "This is how you train against other pokemon. Just scroll through the pictures until you find the ones you want to battle against. They appear on the field and the battle begins." Shino says as he is clicking through the pictures. A Dragonite appears and Shino's Scizor comes through the door. "I thought you were going to make this a challenge?" Scizor says as he steps onto the field. Dragonite instantly launches a massive hyperbeam at him. It narrowly misses Scizor and Scizor launches a hyperbeam back at Dragonite. He tries to block it but explodes like a waterballoon sending blood everywhere. "That's beyond cruel. Killing innocent pokemon for training." Ash protests. "Yes but these are clones. They are copies of real ones. Only difference is you can set their levels anywhere you want to. You just can't catch them only kill them. Quit bitching and start practice killing pokemon." Shino replies pushing Ash onto the trainer platform. "Ill be watching so you better KILL your opponents or there will be hell to pay." Shino says and heads over to Karen who is swimming in the large pool. He is about to jump in when someone pounding on the door stops him. He opens the door knocking Gary out of the trailer. "Sorry Gary. Didn't see you there." Shino says jumping down to help him up. "Where is she?" Gary asks in a pissed tone. "Inside doing her morning exercises. She'll be out in about an hour." "She told me to met her here so she could help me train." Gary says. Shino climbs back into the trailer and holds the door open for Gary. "Come on." He says and the two of them go inside. Moments later Shino has Gary battling. Gary is of course trying to show off for Karen. Ash has successfully killed his first pokemon , a weedle. All day and into the early night the two trainers trained. The following morning Ash and Gary got up early and continued training diligently. Ash wasn't completely over killing but he can do it if he didn't watch. Around lunch Shino came in and had them stop. "Alright you two, listen up. I am sure you two don't want your pokemon to die so I am taking you out to catch some pokemon to use while you here. Willow didn't explain this but as you know you can only have 3 pokemon on you. That means those 3 must be physically touching you, like in a pocket or on your belt. Carry around a bag and keep the extras in there. Also one more loop hole. When registering, they only ask for one pokemon. And if that one dies then you are out. So keep the one you registered alive. Now lets go." Shino explains handing them each a backpack with several pokeballs in it. "Oh also tomorrow is the official start of the league so get to Hell's Gate early. That is the large gate just west of here. You can't miss it." Shino says and the 3 of them leave.

The gun goes off twice filling the room with gunsmoke. Karen screams as she watches Shino fall to the ground. He lays on the ground motionless and blood pools around him. Larry stands there dazed for a second as reality sets in. "I've done it. I killed him. I actually killed The Great Shinogami. I have finally released my one true love from his demonic spell. Nothing can tear us apart now. (Karen is making her way toward him.) That's it my dear come to your savior and true love." Larry says. Karen steps over Shino and heads straight towards Larry whose arms are out stretched. Nikki was snapped back to reality with the gunshot and rushes to Shino's side. Larry closes his eyes awaiting Karen's loving embrace but is given an extremely hard right hook to the jaw instead. He stumbles backwards as Karen continues to punch him. He stumbles back till he is against the wall and then Karen unloads on him with the ferocity of lioness on the hunt. Akurei gets up and wraps his arms around her trapping hers to her side. Larry is on the ground unconscious and bleeding terribly. Karen settles down and begins sobbing uncontrollably. Akurei lets her go and she walks over to Shino's body. Nikki has his head on her lap as she strokes his face and tears stream down hers. Karen kneels next to them and grabs Shino's body tightly clutching it to her own. Larry staggers to his feet and sees Karen clutching Shino. "I don't get it. If he's dead then the spell should be broken. (he thinks for a moment) He must not be dead. (grabs the gun) Guess I'll have to finish him off." Akurei grabs his arm as he walks by. "You have done enough." Akurei says just Aurora yells in pain. Her hands are covered in blood and as she stands up there is a bloody wound on her leg. Diego, Sparx, Inferno, Paul, and Slash run over to her and tend to her wound. Slash extracts a bullet from the wound and the sounds of bones breaking fills the room as well as Larry screaming in excruciating pain. *(Writer's Note: I probably should of mentioned this early but now would be a good time. Akurei is 7 and a half feet tall and all muscle. Not grossly over-built but chiseled. Larry is 5 foot 4 inches tall and skinny.)* Akurei releases Larry's arm only to grab him by the throat and lift him up to eye level off the ground. While Larry is struggling to breathe Shino has wrapped his arms around Karen. "I'm fine. Fortunately he missed all my vital organs." Shino whispers into her ear. Karen stops crying and tears of joy stream down her cheeks now. She helps him to his feet. And Shino looks at his chest. The bullet went in between the shoulder and collar bone. "Akurei. Let him go for now. He's not worth killing. Larry if your still conscious the listen up. You had some guts to actually shoot me. I am impressed. As thanks for making me realize something I am going to spare your life. Come find me when you heal up." Shino says and the Akurei slams him through a nearby table. Shino turns to Nikki and thanks her for her kindness and apologizes for leaving her like that and for her to call him sometime so he can make up for it. As he is walking out the door, he looks at Ash and says "Tomorrow you and are going to train. So be ready at nine in front of the pokecenter." Karen and Shino leave and everyone is stunned by the night's events.
