The following morning Ash and Gary are up early and headed towards the hotel. Gary gets to the front desk and says "Excuse me could you ring Shino's room please?" The guy behind the desk smiles politely and says "Shino? As in The Shinogami? (Gary nods) Sorry sir but I can not ring that room for you. Nor will I tell you what room he is currently staying in. I value my life and the lives of the other guests here." Gary shakes his head and storms off. Ash meanwhile has taken over a phone booth. "Hello Misty?... Good morning. How are you doing?... That's good. I am doing fine surprisingly... Yup Pikachu is getting stronger everyday. He says hi... No Shino is as bad as I thought he was. Although I can't figure out his relationship with Karen...Alright you take now and I'll call you in a few days." Ash says. He sits there pondering for awhile. Upstairs Shino and Karen are sound asleep in bed together. Downstairs Gary is fuming. "That bastard had his filthy hands all over her body and I couldn't stop it." He says to himself. Just then Scizor walks by. Gary jumps up and stops him. "Where is Karen?" He asks. "Probably still sleeping in bed with Shino. Why?" Scizor replies. "Because I want to get back on the road and win this damn tournament." Gary shoots back. "Slow down. Just Relax. Today is Sunday. The gym isn't open today. So go see the sights of the town. There are things here you can't get anywhere else. So shoo and if I were you leave Karen and Shino alone." Scizor says. Gary kicks a chair and storms out." "Annoying little shit." Scizor says and heads out to the trailer. Ash plops down in a booth at the hotel's restaurant. Around noon Gary comes back and asks the front desk if Shino has come down yet. The guy shakes his head no. "Just great. Today is a perfect day to spend with Karen and she spends it doing who knows what with that bastard. I wish there was a way to get rid of him." Gary wanders off plotting. During which time Ash has found several trainers and is currently whooping their asses with ease. No point in going into detail. Around 3 or so Shino wakes up and looks down to see Karen staring up at him. He squeezes her closer and she snuggles up closer. Another hour later they finally get up. "Shall we have that dinner tonight?" Shino asks. "Sounds good to me." She replies and slips into the bathroom. Shino walks out to the balcony and stares down at his semi below. Gary is spray painting something all of the semi. Shino walks back inside for a minute and returns with several oranges. He throws one at Gary narrowly missing him. Gary looks up surprised and sees Shino on the balcony then sprints inside. Shino walked back inside eating an orange. He unlocked the door and went down the long hallway to the elevators. A couple minutes later an elevator opened and Gary came rushing out. He swung at Shino who casually dodged it. Gary swung again and Shino blocked with his palm. Again Gary swung and again was blocked by Shino's palm. "Look here you pathetic piece of shit. That woman is too good for the likes of you. So why don't you crawl back into what ever hole you came out of." Gary says getting right in Shino's face. "It sounds like you think she is perfect for you? I realize she is too good for me but for some reason she loves me. I haven't a clue on why but she does. If you truly feel for her then you are doing the dumbest thing you can do." Shino replies. Gary looks at him and says "And would that be?" "Easy. A guy from high school did the same thing. They told me to stay away from her and never talk to her again. She over heard that and never talk to him again. As much as you dislike it I am not going any where. I am in debt to her and promised to watch out for her. Tell you what while I am getting cleaned up you use that opportunity to make her yours. If she does great if she doesn't tough shit. Got it?" Shino says eating another orange. Gary sits down in a nearby chair as Shino goes back to the room. A few minutes later Karen comes out in her oversized bath towel. Gary jumps up and greets her. He grabs her hands and starts confessing is love for her. Meanwhile Ash is in the trailer training under the supervision of Scizor who is badly beaten up. His arm is in a sling and there are dents all over his body. Also his right eye is swollen shut. Ash looks at him while Pikachu rests. "What happened to you?" He asks. Scizor looks at him and replies "My sparring partner got a little rough today this happened. Now get back to work." "Who the hell do you spar against?" Ash asks curiously. "One of Shino's other pokemon." Scizor replies. "He has pokemon that are stronger then you?" Ash asks surprised. "Let me put it this way. I am number 3 out of all his pokemon as far as overall goes. But as for victories and used most that's where I am number 1. Now enough questions and back to training. The rest of the gym leaders are going to be a lot tougher then Slash." Scizor replies. When Shino comes out of the bathroom Karen is sitting on the bed pondering something. Shino sits down next to her and drapes his arm around her shoulders. "So Gary confess his feelings for you?" He asks. Karen nods still lost in thought. "Shall I drive you two to dinner?" He asks with a smile. She glares at him and replies "Very funny. I rejected him. But he did bring up something that never occurred to me." Shino smiled as he said "Tell me about it at dinner. I have a surprise for you. So get ready." Shino and Karen both get dressed up in their traditional Japanese clothes again. These ones aren't the same as the night before. They head downstairs where a horse drawn carriage awaits them. Tears start to form in Karen's eyes as she sees the carriage. Gary glares at Shino from the lobby of the hotel till his phone goes off. Gary looks down and sees a new text message. "You have got to learn what a girl likes then use that to your advantage. Especially when you want to win Karen's heart." The message said. "That bastard Shino. Just wait I will make her mine and he will be out of the picture." Gary mutters to himself. Shino and Karen ride off into the near by forest. Gary grabs a nearby bicycle and rides after them. Karen cuddles up to Shino as they bounce down the path. "Your little love sick puppy is following us." Shino says. Karen kisses Shino's cheek and catches a glimpse of Gary out of the corner of her eye. "He doesn't get it. He thinks money means everything to a girl. He kept flaunting it when we were out that night. It was revolting." Karen says resting his head on Shino's shoulder. "I know. He'll figure it out eventually. How should we get rid of him? He could ruin the evening." Shino says. Karen smiles wickedly and the lays her head in Shino's lap. He tips his head back. Gary's eyes are as big as dinner plates after see such a public display. He loses control of the bike and smashes into a large tree. They pull up to the same traditional Japanese restaurant as the night before. Both of them go inside and the entire place is empty. Candles are everywhere and a huge buffet table is set up with all kinds of Japanese food. "Wow." Karen mutters. The owner walks up to Shino and bows. Shino bows back and they start talking in Japanese to each other. The man bows again and then leaves closing the doors behind him. Shino locks the door and Karen looks at him. "What was that about? And since when do you know Japanese?" Karen asks. Shino grins and grabs her hand lightly. "My dear. The owner said you are as beautiful as a spring morning and we have the whole place to ourselves." After an hour or so they are lying on their backs staring up at the night sky through the glass ceiling. "Earlier you were about to tell me something. What was it?" Shino asks. "Oh that. During Gary's little speech he got me thinking. We aren't dating. Yet everyone assumes we are. Which causes a lot of problems. You know how I feel about you. I want to know how you feel about me." She says rolling onto her side to look at him. Shino is still looking up at the sky. After several minutes of absolute silence Shino says "You want to know if I have the same feelings towards you. Well it was your smiling face that was the first friendly one I saw while I was in prison. You were also the only one who wasn't afraid of me." "Isn't afraid of you." She corrected him. "Right. Isn't afraid of me. You are always there for me no matter what. I would definitely say you are the only positive thing in my life. So I guess now would be a perfect time." Shino says getting up and extending his hand out. She gets up and Shino wraps his arms around her tightly. "Karen would you like to go out with me and by my girlfriend?" He whispers softly in her ear. Karen blushes and starts to cry into his chest. "I love you. Like I have since you stood in the doorway of my cell." He whispered into her ear. Karen hugs him tightly and Dearest from Inuyasha starts to play. They dance long into the night.
