[LIFE // obsessed: more on bugs 0.o]
konnichiwa~ how was everyone's weekend & week going so far? :D i'm so sorry i'm such a moron!! i said i was going to update last week, but i ended up being blown off course by my hectic schedule, unable to either update or finish the wp's i had been working on until today. sorry!! *bows* overall tho, things were pretty boring during the week & the weekend, i was preoccupied with nothing more than a whole lot of busywork. and since i don't remember much of what happened anymore, i'll just share with you whatever comes to mind. ^^
ok. first of all, pest infestation. so, several of you know what i was talking about in my last post, right? ^^ i'm usually not the type who'd scream at the top of my lungs every time a tiny little bug crosses my path, i just esp. hate spiders...esp. when they appear indoors!! >_< after a week of careful observation, i discovered there're 2 kinds of spiders in my house: one with small yellowish-brown bodies & thin legs, the other with big black bodies & thick black legs. the latter kind, which displays amazing speeds as they scurry across a room, is by far more fearsome. ((damn they're hard to squash!!)) good things are they don't seem to make webs or hang from ceilings and, so far, are confined to the vicinity of the basement. all in all, there were approx. 10 spiders sightings last week. i'm so freaked out that as an extra precaution, i now turn on the lights, look around, and wait 10 sec before entering rooms. =_= seriously, if i ever find out the whereabouts of their hideout -- which, based on noted traffic patterns, is most likely located behind the TV -- they're SO dead. *furious chi burning behind me*
well, enough about bugs. ^_^; ((inner voice: what's your fixation on spiders about anyway? me: nooo~ you just don't understand the horrors!!))
my brother and i were assigned to weed the lawn and trim bushes at home over the weekend. usually i'd moan & groan about doing yard work, but the weather was so nice (sunny & breezy & a tad cold, in the upper 50s°F i think) that i really enjoyed it. at any rate, it was a nice break from being always cooped up in a room, working in front of my compy. :) in other news, my brother, who attends high school, has just changed to a mohawk (!!)hairstyle for indeterminate reasons. as you can imagine, my parents are really shocked & angry about this (at first); and as the elder sister, i was delegated with the responsibility of persuading him to buzz it all off. -_-; out of the 3 siblings in the household, my youngest brother's definitely the "eccentric" one, hahaha...oh boy.
last week, i received a bunch of photos from some people i know of the cherry blossoms in Washington D.C. & in Tokyo this year. you know, the beauty of the sakura is simply breathtaking! ^0^ *hearts* i wish i could visit those places & see the cherry blossoms first-hand. wouldn't it be nice if we can all gather under the blooming cherry trees, enjoy the fragant spring breeze, sip sake & have our own O-hanami party together? KAMPAI!! ^0^
well, that's it for this "LIFE" post. i'll move on to talking about the new theme & wallpapers & stuff (btw, i finally updated my wp's after a month of 0% production!) in the post below, please continue reading if you want! other than that, have a nice week, everyone! :) |

[FANGIRL // sakura matsuri!]
[WARNING: attempt at a segue ahead] speaking of spring & sakura flowers, i hope you like the new Saiyuki theme! i know, this theme change is long overdue, isn't it? *sweatdrops* if you like, you can find the current Saiyuki bg, along with 3 other Rurouni Kenshin wp's, in my MyO wallpapers section. :)
i feel really bad that i didn't have any wp's or fanart to show for the month of March. i actually wasn't trying to slack off or anything, but was really having trouble since it didn't feel like i was improving with my wp's. i know i stink at abstract or techy designs, so i decided to try what i thought i could do better: realistic sceneries. soon after making that decision tho, i stumbled upon another road block: how to get the best out of lighting & creating a sense of depth or perspective. urrgh. >_<; well, after plenty of trials & errors, i hope i did get it (somewhat) right and that you'll like this new batch of nature-themed wp's! ^^
oh, before i forget, credits & thanks go to Imanimetions for their inspiring Photoshop tutorials & the "trees" brush set i used in the wp's! how can you not love trees?! XD
in addition, just a little note that RuroKen's "The Autumn With You" & "The Spring For Us" are related. the captions down at the bottom of the wp's are meant to be read together as one sentence. ^^
IMPORTANT! starting with these wp's, i'll be adding the name "natsunara" to my signature. ^^ "natsunara" is the name i use over at MiniTokyo, where i've recently joined just because i was required to sign up before downloading the ONLY "Lament of the Lamb" wp i could find on the net. ^_^; ((i didn't want to continue using "nausicaa0" since i'm beginning to think that simply using an anime chara's name as your own is kinda dopey & unoriginal. you know how you'd just roll your eyes at people who claim they're "Son Goku" or "Kenshin Himura" when they're really not. =_=)) so, if you ever see "nausicaa0" & "natsunara" on the web, please note that they're the same person! and from now on, i'll always sign my wp's with both names. ^_^;
you guys are probably tired of my RuroKen wp's, right? ((inner voice: *whines* but...but i haven't had a chance to make wp's for Saitou & Aoshi & so many other charas yet!!!)) *squashes inner voice* ahem, anyway, even tho i'm still very obsessed about RuroKen, i'll nonetheless try to branch out and work on other series & charas. umm, do you have any suggestions? :D

[LIFE // 1st signs of spring?!]
whoa~ i haven't updated in a while, how's everyone doing? ^^ btw, thanks for your PM,
Sita!! i'm very sorry i wasn't able to be on MyO a lot last week, since my brothers were home for spring break and they hogged the internet for themselves all the time. =_=; speaking of which, i hope you all had (are having?) a great spring holiday! ^0^ mine was OK. my brothers owned the internet for chatting & games while my dad owned the satellite for watching the 2006 World Cup qualifier games. as a result, i ended up watching a lot of videos & DVDs (both movies & TV-drama's) with my mom, including a subbed Japanese TV-drama my friend lent me several months ago. (i know i hate it when i lend people stuff and they seem to forget about returning it, so i'll return the discs asap, hon!! ^_^)
other than that tho, what else happened? let's see... manga-wise, the scan was becoming so blurry & the translation so incomprehensible that i had to take a break from reading Angel Sanctuary. ^_^; in its place, i read YGO! Duelist vol.2. it was really touching how, tho comatose, Seto's will exists in his (now stolen) cards and how one of his BEWDs stopped on its own in the midst of attacking Yugi. ^^ oh and Seto finally regains consciousness! (YAY beware Seto's back!! ^0^) beside YGO, i also read vol.1 of The Prince of Tennis. this 1st volume consists mainly of 2 matches to showcase the main chara's talent. although it's exciting to read, what i find lacking is more depth about the plot & the charas themselves. hopefully, it will get better in subsequent volumes! :)
oh i planned to talk about the 1st signs of spring, didn't i? ok. well, i'm not talking about the warm weather, the spring showers, the grass, the birds, or the budding crocus flowers here, i'm talking about bugs. BUGS! for instance, spiders are making a return appearance in my house after staying dormant all winter long; and a bug flew kamikaze-style into my face as i stepped out to get the mail yesterday morning. =_=; yep, to be sure, spring is indeed here. NOOOOO~~ ^0^
and HAPPY APRIL'S FOOL DAY!! XD lol, it kinda sucks that it has to fall on a weekday, so be careful, everyone!! btw, do you have an especially unforgettable april's fool day experience? ^0^ so far, i'm safe this year, but last year's was quite memorable. ^_^; it happened when i had just gotten out of bed and my good friend suddenly showed up knocking on my door, looking very nervous & exhausted. i asked her "what's up?" and out sprang the bomb: she suspected that she was pregnant!! 0_o;; naturally, i was shocked and panicked. at once, i was trying to remain calm, yell at her, and think of any comforting words or advices to say. just when i couldn't handle the shock anymore, my friend shouted "april's fool!" and laughed at how worried i was. she definitely deserved that (friendly?) slap to the head, lol. XI she was good tho, i'd give her that -- springing at me when i was unsuspecting & my defenses were low. anyways, who'd joke about a serious matter like that?? >_<; even now, this imaginary child of hers remains a long-standing joke between us. ^_^;;
this is becoming a long post so i'll end here. ^^ i'm still trying to finish some wp's & the new theme for april, so i'll let the Sai bg stay up for a couple more days. expect a new theme some time next week! *excited* till then, have a good weekend and watch out for the cold bug! :D |

[LIFE // snowing over spring break?!]
hello! hope everyone's enjoying their weekend, whether you're on spring break or not! :D both my brother and i are home for the break now; and let me say that the weather is REALLY cold up here! it was, umm, sort of raining & sleeting earlier? this is certainly not the sunny-hot-fun-at-the-beach-tehehe-chase-me-chase-me type of spring break people usually visualize about, lol. ^_^; but it's still fun, since we get to read new manga and bring out the old N64 for a few games, all nice & toasty at home. *currently typing to the cheery bgm of "Mario Party"* :)
i'm just starting to read Angel Sanctuary, is anyone familiar with that manga? you know, the artwork looks so good and i've heard so much about it that i decided to give the manga a try. so far, i think the story premise IS interesting, but i find myself deterred from reading by the poor quality of the scanlation and the many & confusing cast. i'm only in vol.1, and it's already difficult keeping track of who's who & the basics of the whole "angel hierachy" thing! @_@ *sighs* i'm looking up character profiles & summaries etc. online now, hopefully, i'll get to enjoy Angel Sanctuary more as i read on. ^^;
oh yeah, i've just changed the site bg to the 2nd HikaGo layout of the month, this time only featuring the very charming Fujiwara no Sai. hmm, you know that Sai is supposed to be male, right? this is just in case, since i thought he was a 'she' at first till i saw other charas addressing 'her' as a 'him'! 0.o but that doesn't make a difference, right? Sai's just too beautiful...*sighs adoringly* the bg is kinda blue & wintry, ne? what can i say? i miss winter already!! ^0^
anyways, i'll try to go online as often as i can this week. but with my brother in the house and his hogging the line all to himself and his insistence to chat on MSN needlessly for hours (& hours & hours), i'm sorry if i can't visit you guys now as frequently as i'd like. ^_^; well, guess i'll take my time offline and try to work on some wp's & fanart for next time...till then, have a great weekend, everyone!! :D
...at my brothers' feeble attempt to drag me to go outside & go work out with them (what?? in this freezing cold & ice?! are you nuts??!), it's eerie how i identify with the comic cat. ^_^;
>> pS: yikes, guess i'm still having trouble with my Shoutbox, and i can't even log in to my account now at their website. whatever's going on, it's really annoying!! >_<; hope it'll come back on soon tho!! |

[FANGIRL // i finally got u!...and ?'s answered]
hiyas! did you guys have a good weekend? :) sorry i didn't have much time to go online in the past several days because i was stuck doing chores & house-cleaning in order to prepare for a family get-together. we had relatives visiting from Canada; and after they arrived, i spent all of my time doing family activities, i.e. giving them a tour of American malls, lol! apparently, things are a lot cheaper here than in Canada! YAY for shopping sprees~ :D
as for myself, i bought a couple manga from my wishlist & a teal-colored mini-bag that was on sale (ooo~ never had that color before! ^_^;). the highpoint of my shopping trips, tho, was seeing the Rurouni Kenshin series #3 figures for sale at Waldenbooks! (just like finding a silver rupee~ it's time to jump for joy!! ^0^) after 2 rounds of selection, i got 4 out of the 5 figures, including Kenshin as the Hitokiri Battousai, Saitou as the 3rd capt. of the Shinsengumi, Enishi & a grown-up version of Yahiko. the figures are all colored & very detailed -- even more detailed & of a better quality than the previous series methinks! the only series #3 figure i'm missing is Kenji. still, at that time, i decided not to try my luck any further, because it was already very difficult telling the different figures apart with them being enclosed in "mystery boxes." and to select 1 certain figure out of all those remaining would be WAY more challenging than simply picking out 4 random, different ones from the original pool. ^_^; surely, i'll continue to search for Kenji; meanwhile tho, i'm just happy to look at the collection of RK figures i already have! XD
well, last time i said i'll answer your questions in the next update. it's long overdue, so i'll do it now. ^_^ btw, thanks for all of your very interesting & thought-provoking questions! ^0^ since it's just a handful, i'll take my time answering them! (<- of course, this is just an excuse to allow myself to ramble forth w/o constraint! ^_^;) *coughs* anyways, here are the Q&A's (the 1st batch from GrayUnderpants, the 2nd from Sitarose & the 3rd from Chocolate Cheese): ^^
DO YOU PREFER SPICY OR SWEET FOODS?
>> i LOVE sweets, but to eat spicy foods and to feel that hot, burning sensation travel all the way down the esophagus to the stomach, warming up the whole body, is a much more interesting gastronomical experience! no table-top should be w/o a pepper shaker!! XD
DO YOU HAVE ANY FRIENDS THAT YOU SIMPLY DON'T TRUST ANYMORE? AND WHY?
>> yes, one, a long time ago. she and i had been good friends for 3 yrs until we got a part-time job at the same place together. then suddenly, maybe the Darwinist nature of the workplace got to her or something, it was like seeing a whole new side of her i didn't know existed. u_u; incidents happened, i felt betrayed and we got into several fights; after that, i didn't trust her anymore. oh, that was my 1st job too. it was quite a disillusioning experience about friendship & the workplace. ^_^;
WHO IS YOUR FAVORITE NOVELIST? WHY?
>> this is a toughie! having gotten my fill of fictional stories from anime & manga, i haven't picked up any novels in a while. in the past tho, my favorite novelist was Mary Higgins Clark, who is so skilled at characterization, plot, pacing & creating the mood that her contemporary suspense/mystery thrillers always kept me at the edge of my seat, heart beating non-stop till the last page was turned. i enjoyed reading her works; but what i liked best was a collection of short suspense stories entitled "The Anastasia Syndrome & Other Stories." i found out that in 2002 Clark wrote her only historical fiction novel, "Mount Vernon Love Story," i'm really looking forward to getting that book! :)
DO YOU HAVE ANY GUILTY PLEAUSRES? WHAT'S THE GUILTIEST ONE?
>> oh yes, lots!! ^0^ the guiltiest one would probably be reading shounen-ai/yaoi or other R-rated manga & fanfic. the other day, as i was sitting in bed reading FAKE & my friend called, when she asked what i was reading & i answered, reading her the story description from the backcover of vol.1, immediately she joked: "in short, browsing through your stash of porn, huh?" *HUGE sweatdrops* now, now, i wouldn't lump everything under the "porn" category. and contrary to popular opinion, i DON'T own a stash of porn under my bed!! >_<
WHO'S YOUR FAV ANIME CHARACTER MALE AND FEMALE?
>> easy! male - Himura Kenshin from Rurouni Kenshin! female - Kikyo from InuYasha! ^^
IF YOU'RE DRIVING A BUS AND THREE PEOPLE GET ON AT THE FIRST STOP... 2 GET ON AT THE 2ND STOP AND 1 GETS OFF... 5 PEOPLE GET ON AT THE 3RD AND 7 GETS OFF... WHAT WAS THE COLOR OF THE THIRD ONE'S HAIR?
>> ah, this one is not so obvious! because that person was bald!! not a single hair follicle on his/her scalp!! XD
WHAT'S THE WORST TRAIT IN A GUY? AND WHY?
>> definitely selfishness! i think that many other problems can come from just him being self-centered: problems like being uncaring, unsympathetic, demanding, unfaithful, dishonest (hey, the 'truth' can only work for him, right?)... etc. have you ever had one of those times when he has a crappy day and so expects you to understand & babysit him till he feels better? however, if it were you who have a crappy day and expect some sympathy & understanding from him, he'd just write you off as PMS-ing & being moody! uurgh!! >_<;
AREN'T BUCKLES THE COOLEST? AND HOT WOOO AREN'T THEY HOT!?!?!?!
>> you bet! they are HOT!! nothing says "i'm a bad@$$" more than putting on a few buckles!!
CHOCOLATE OR CHIPS?
>> BOTH! but i usually prefer chocolate because i can snack & work at the same time, w/o having to worry about getting my fingers all greasy & covered with salt/cheese/whatever seasoning. oooh~ btw, chocolate-covered raisons are the best!! :P~
WHICH IS WORSE: A FRIEND TELLING A SECRET ABOUT YOU, OR YOU TELLING A SECRET ABOUT YOUR FRIEND?
>> this depends on from whose perspective you're viewing the problem, right? generally tho, i think me telling a secret about a friend is worse. because if it was a friend betraying my trust, at least i've the right to get mad & blast at that person. but if i were the one to leak info, i'd be worried about what if my friend finds out or what other people would say...stuff like that. u_u; i'm good at keeping secrets tho, both others' & my own, hehe. ^x^
WHAT IS YOUR FAVOURITE FRAGRANCE? (NOT JUST PERFUME ^^)
>> wow~ you like petrol?! 0.o i think you're the 1st person i know who likes the mind-numbing smell of petroleum! but then i guess we're both into some unusual scents since my fave is wax vapor! (ooh~ both are related to the great element #8, carbon!) wax vapor is vaporizing wax, the smell of a burning candle (needs not be aromatic), and it rises from the candle wick after you blow out the candle. try it! light a candle, watch a burn for a few minutes then blow it out! it smells SOOOOOOO good!! XD
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST, DO YOU WANT A TAIL?
>> why not? ^.~ i especially love bushy tails, like the ones squirrels, foxes & wolves have. (<- all are my fave animals!!) some dogs have nice tails too. ah, Sesshoumaru-sama's is not bad either, it can even double as a boa! cats' tails, on the other hand, are scary!! don't ask me why! ^_^
that's it! thanks for reading this super long update! :D i'll be going off to (as many of) your sites (as i can) now, so...ja ne! ^^ |

[LIFE // keeki tabemasu ka?]
hi! hope everyone has a good start this week! ^^ i guess my week started off pretty well. yesterday i received half a bag of apples my friend couldn't finish; so, suddenly (& rarely) inspired to make something, i ended up baking 4 small loaves of cinnamon apple x walnut bread with it. as long as i was on the go, i made that box of chocolate cake mix that had been sitting on top of the fridge since before X'mas as well. this time i follwed the recipe (albeit loosely) & added a generous amount of baking powder to make sure the bread would rise properly. for once, my venture was a success! ^0^ i'm still no good at baking cookies tho; they always end up either hard as a rock or runny like pancakes, lol. ^_^; ah chocolate cake for breakfast & the supply of comfort food for the week secured~ my diet plan is definitely going down the drain, hoho.
over the weekend, i finished reading the Hikaru no Go manga. it was a great story, tho its abrupt ending left me very empty & dissatisfied. you can call it an "open ending" of sorts, but to conclude the story so quickly after the climax? where's the dénouement?? >_< therefore i'm searching online now to see if there were any special episodes, OVA's, or movies etc. to offer more story to the ending. also, i can't wait to watch the HnG anime either! i asked my brother, and he told he had already downloaded the anime & can get it to me over spring break! ^0^ (better not forget this, ye forgetful moron!!) *coughs* nonetheless, i'm really excited.
pic o'de day: from HnG, Isumi Shinichiro, good friend of Hikaru the main chara, a "big brother" type of figure at the Go Institute where Hikaru studies. here he's all dressed up, looking spanking good, before his match. [Isumi-kun: *sweatdrops* did you just say 'spanking good'?? me: huh...guess i did...^///^]
lastly, i know some of you were doing the "4 personal questions" thing on your sites last week, umm, guess this is my turn. (yeah i'm playing by the rules Sita! ^^ *avoids glare*) if you'd like to ask 4 questions about me or anything at all, ask away! :D and if you do, please post this message on your site & allow others the chance to ask you 4 questions as well. 1 i'll answer as best as i can & post my replies in the next update. 2 that's it, i'm off to your sites now, ttyl! :D
notes:
1 - it's up to you! it's not that i'll be offended & come after you if you don't.
2 - if neccessary, i'll PM you my answers. ^^; |

[FANGIRL // GO!]
hello guys! hope everyone's having a good week so far. there're only 2 more days till friday, so hang in there! ^^v yeah, i haven't left, i'm still here somewhere, getting caught up with life and with reading manga. umm, i'll skip talking about the humdrum life part and go right to MANGA!! ^o^ for the past several days, i've been reading Hikaru no Go ("HnG"; story by Yumi Hotta, art by Takeshi Obata). would anyone be familiar with the story? tho it's basically about people trying to master the Japanese board game go and competing against each other (which is very interesting in itself...even for a person who generally sucks at board games ^_^;;), it's amazing to watch how the charas develop and grow as they walk the paths of their dreams. so far, over the two-yr time span btwn vol.1 and vol.17, i can really see Hikaru, the title chara, growing up and maturing from a goofy 6th grader into a confident 9th grader. i really have fun reading HnG. :D of course, there're some tear-jerking moments as well. and don't underestimate the power of go, many of the game cliffhangers have kept me up reading past 5a.m.! ^_^;
rather than reading on my compy tho, i'd prefer to be actually holding the tankoban in my hands and reading it on paper, to be able to better enjoy the story and its beautiful, clean artwork. [warning: rant ahead..] but VIZ's inconsistent publishing schedule is annoying the heck out of me. vol.1 of HnG was released back in may 2004; vol.2 in sept 2004; the newest vol.3 in feb 2005 (that was a very long wait!!); and vol.4 won't be availabe till june of this year. if things should continue at this irrectic and snailish pace, it'll take eons for all 23 volumes to come out! well, not eons, just probably a DECADE. >_<;; ok. maybe i understand that HnG isn't as exciting or as popular as Shounen Jump's other titles, like DBZ or RK (which has earned itself a monthly release date at the loss of quality editing), or even the newer Naruto, YYH, or Bleach etc., but still, how about picking up the pace a little!! >o< (<< not a patient person u_u;;)
with regard to VIZ or any other publishing company, does anyone else have bones to pick, stuff to rant/rave about, stories to tell? i've lots to rant about in this department, but i'll save it for another day, lol. ^_^;; in the end tho, guess i've to keep in mind that if not for these companies, we wouldn't even have the luxury of reading manga in North America. i shouldn't complain...too much, anyways. ^_^;
and so i chose HnG as the 1st theme for march. it's really bright and cheery, right? (even tho i'm still attached to dark colors ^_^) well, guess i'm off to go visit your sites! yikes, so many of you have updated during the past couple days, i'm really sorry i missed out on all of it. it's going to take a while to catch up, ne? ^_^;; well, i'm off. till next time, take care! ^o^ |

[FANGIRL // catching up!]
hiyas! it has been several days since i last updated because i've been busy trying to catch up with my fanart & wp's & stuff. but yeah i'm finally done with the 3rd APE pic! (the one i worried about it causing potential discontent -- to say the very least -- among fanatic fangirls. ^_^;) the lucky couple this time is BAKURA & ANZU/TEA!! (don't hate me!!) u_u; i know i usually write a couple paragraphs explaining my reasons for the pick & evaluating their compatibility with each other. however, i'll forgo the procedure this time, for i assure you the decision was completely (well, 99%) random!! i like bakura, but i'm not a fan of anzu's (to say the very least). although she does have some good points, anzu's infatuation with yami yugi & her 'friendship speeches' (in the Eng dub) annoy me a lot. so i stick her with bakura the maniac just for the heck of it, lol. ^_^;; if i really need to think about it, the only thing linking anzu with bakura is their duel monster card of choice: the "magician of faith" & "change of heart." when you take their names/meanings literally, aren't the cards polar opposites of each other? since this is all i can come up with, i used this play on words for the caption in the pic.
aside from the YGO fanart, i also posted 2 RuroKen wp's this week. the 1st one is a mushy wp created from a screencap of kenshin & tomoe from the "trust & betrayal" OVA. the 2nd one is an oft' seen artbook pic of the hitokiri battousai (sans tomoe). this 2nd wp is really inspired by the many beautiful InuYasha wp's i've seen: if sesshoumaru-sama can look good standing in front of a full moon, i'm sure kenshin can too! ^^ ah, this is my first attempt making a full moon, so i hope it turned out all right! it was also kinda difficult changing the appearance of the night sky so it doesn't entirely resemble the one in an Ai Yori Aoshi wp i made earlier...anyways, hope you guys like it! ^^;
ok ok. enough about fanart. [warning: change of topic ahead] i went shopping this monday (yay! new manga!); and walking around in the real world outside of land otaku, i suddenly realized how warped my senses have become. and so i've come up with a list of symptoms "you know you've read/watched too much manga/anime when...":
1) when someone asks if you've any "plans," you immediately assume the person is asking about anime/manga release schedules and answer "yeah! i've plans! X is coming out on Y, i plan to go snatch it up where & when!"
2) during conversations, you begin to quote from anime charas AND you make sure the other person knows who you're quoting, even if he/she is not interested. e.g. "sorry i'm late. today i wandered a bit from the path of life...and yeah, just so you know, that's from kakashi-sensei in naruto!"
3) fangirl japanese & mannerism.
4) lexicon slips substituting everyday vocab with anime ones. e.g. when trying to say "Adriatico's" (nearby pizza place), you end up saying "Akabeko's" (Tokyo beef bowl place in RuroKen) instead.
5) when looking at prices of different merchanise, you value them based on how many volumes of manga (etc.) the same amount of money can buy. e.g. "$40 for a pair of jeans?!! i could've bought 4 manga's with that money!!" "$25 for a meal?! that's like 1 Slayers boxset right there!!" in short, manga/anime DVD units have substitued the dollar as your monetary unit.
...and the list goes on. tho it's quite sad if you can identify with any of them! ^_^;
lastly, i'll be leaving you with a pic of rin amami, the main chara of the shounen series "dragon voice" by yuriko nishiyama, featured here on the vol.1 cover of the manga released by TP. the ridiculously enjoyable story is, in a nutshell, about a guy with a horrendous voice (that'd be rin) who's trying to find his dreams in the pop idol world. could a 15-yr-old possibly be this hot?! and look, he's wearing red, my current fave color!! enjoy and ttyl! ^///^

[LIFE // counting sheep...]
well, not literally. (besides, counting sheep doesn't put one to sleep anyway; its real purpose lies only in teaching kids how to count.) i think i've drunk one too many cup of (very concentrated) black tea; and now i'm having trouble falling asleep. maybe i should switch to having hot milk before bed instead? ^_^; what else should i do on an IY-less, AdultSwim-less night except to go online and see which of you will update in the wee hours of the morning (EST-wise)? and lo & behold, there're three of you! i'll visit you guys soon. ^^
umm, yes, i've a shoutbox now! ^^ even tho i found out i'm usually not around when people drop by (that defeats the purpose, doesn't it?), nonetheless i'll post updates in the box daily -- daily messages that are not significant enough to make up one regular post. so if you'd ever like to leave me a message, for whatever reason, feel free to use it. :)
in addition, i posted another RuroKen wp yesterday. it's a pretty romantic pic of kenshin & kaoru that i scanned from a doujinshi cover. i'm still feeling kinda mushy after v-day, so i'll continue to make mushy RuroKen wp's before this month ends. umm, yeah, save the action stuff for later.
this weekend, i'll also be working on my next YGO alternate couple fanart. it's very hard to draw intertwining bodies! *out pops my fox ears* JUST KIDDING, lol! ^^; anyway, i'm afraid i'll be blasted by some very fanatic fangirls when i submit this pic of a certain very-well-liked YGO bishie posing with a certain not-very-well-liked female chara. *sweatdrops* *begs* please, PLEASE don't take the couples i paired up so seriously!!
hmm, i notice that after several minutes of typing i'm still feeling quite awake & energetic (tho my fingers have gone cold). it probably has something to do with the facial i just did (out of boredom). do you know that aside from the expensive pore strips you can buy on the market, the least expensive method for getting rid of blackheads is massaging the wings of the nose with baby-oil? yup, try it after cleaning your face, for just 20 minutes a day! it's *supposed* to work like magic (meaning, i haven't tried it out yet)! ^_^; uh...is it all right if i talk about girly stuff like that here? i promise i won't do it very often!! i doubt any boys drop by my site; and growing up with two boys, i'm not really a very girly person anyway. ^_^;;
i can babble on like this forever, but i'll control myself and cut this post short, leaving you with my parting thoughts of the day, embedded in the following comic strip from my very favorite webcomic MegaTokyo. find the hidden meaning within hidden meaning! ^0^
since i might not have time to go online and visit you guys again this weekend...happy weekend, guys! :D

well, starting off the bottom half of february is the 2nd kenshin x tomoe theme. yes, i'm currently in love with deep, dark colors, marron & DEEP (blood?) red being my faves, lol. but if you like, you can also find a clearer copy of this bg (minus the red filter) in my wallpapers section! (shameless plug) ^_^; that's it. i'll try to get around to some of your sites today. tho i think i'm going to see a movie now...umm, so if i can't, i'll keep trying tonight. have a good week, y'all! :D
