   [LIFE // happy new year, guys!!]

hi there!! *waves energetically* how's everyone doing?? i hope you had a great Christmas w/ your family & friends & are looking forward to New Year's! ^0^ i really have been away for such a long time, if i've caused you to become angry or worried, i'm really sorry!! ~_~; the truth is...i've been busy...uh, yeah...holed up in my house...uh...watching anime. *sweatdrops* in the beginning, a winter storm hit my city, satelite signals became disrupted & ended my access to Cartoon Network. and so, anime-starved, i decided to re-watch my "rurouni kenshin" dvds. ^^; later tho, when my younger bro came home & brought with him the complete "hikaru no go" tv series, the 2nd & 3rd InuYasha movies, and lots of episodes from other anime's, i became overwhelmed & didn't know where to begin watching (or when to stop watching, for that matter). needless to say, the whole collection has been keeping me busy...i know this isn't really a valid excuse for not updating, so gomen!!! *bows* other than that, Christmas passed by rather quietly at my house. since the party my family was planning to attend got canceled at the last minute because of wintry weather conditions, on the 25th, after a simple dinner at home, we sat around the couch & watched X'Mas specials on TV (on the handful of channels our satelite could still receive under all that snow)...there's nothing interesting to write about, really. *embarrassed* ^_^;; anyways, the weather has warmed up considerably since last weekend; and i'm really looking forward to New Year's. ^^ so i hope you all will have a *HAPPY NEW YEAR'S EVE* tomorrow!! and i'll be seeing you next year...w/ a brand new theme for MyO!! (in the meantime, please put up w/ the 'Merry Christmas' bg for a couple more days!! *sweatdrops* ^_^;) ps: i'll try to get around to visiting most (if not all) of your sites today & over the weekend!! :) pps: dec.31. finally posted my last batch of "gundam wing" wp's...just in time for finishing off 2004. and if you're wondering why chang wufei is missing -- it's not intentional!! i've just never come across wufei's picture from that series. if i ever find it, i'll make up for it. ^^;

   [FANGIRL // happy birthday, malik-sama!]

THANK YOU SO MUCH (setolover1213, Gray Underpants, sitarose & YokoBandit!) for your comments on tuesday's post &/or on my GW wp's!! even tho most of you aren't really into GW, you were still kind enough to look at my work & commented on them! thanks guys!! i'm really touched!! ^^ my obsession w/ GW began a long time ago. in the beginning, since i read the manga (49-eps worth of story crammed into 3 thin volumes! 0_o) before watching the anime, nothing made sense to me. but after finally watching the anime (& then re-reading the manga), i fell in love w/ this series! much more than the cute bishies, mecha, or space battles (which is an art in itself), what intrigued me the most was the pacifist & peace philosophy discussed in the series. lol, there was a time when i was a hopeless political junkie...but i won't get into that here. ^_^;; anyway, GW was really thought-provoking & it taught me a lot...uh, including that if you do decide to quote gen. treize khushrenada on your peace studies term paper & if you include all the proper documentation, your prof would generally allow it, even tho it's "anime". *guilty sweatdrops* ...i hope that you'd like GW as much as i do! okok, all that geeky stuff aside... visiting matsuo's site has just reminded me that today (dec.23) is malik's birthday!! so HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MALIK-SAMA!! ^0^ and since namari gave me the news a couple days ago that malik would be making a comeback in the anime, today's really worth celebrating!! XD

   [FANART // at long last, an update!]

when it comes to drawing and making wallpapers, i work at a guiltily slow pace (kinda like drippy molasses or sluggish snails). i really feel bad b/c there are so many budding ideas for wp's in my head that never get realized. *sighs* ~_~ *then suddenly energized* yep, i'll definitely try better at keeping up w/ wp production in the new year! ^0^ well, after the YGO fixation last month, i chose to work on Gundam Wing for december b/c of its "focus on a better future" theme. in addition, you can say that "Endless Waltz" is the perfect x'mas movie as well! ^^ anyway, hope you'll like these couple wp's; i'll post some more before the year ends. ...let's ring in a new year that's better than the last!! :D

   [LIFE // honestly, snowed in]

*sigh* the weather yesterday was still so nice & sunny, but ever since this morning, it has been snowing non-stop. the level of snow accumulation is just unbelievable. with the drifting snow & icy roads & all, i decided to not go to church this afternoon (& instead stay home to go online??!). i feel guilty, but i'll be sure to set aside some quiet time for myself tonight. urrgh, the snow & i, we've some sorta love-hate relationship. anyways, i finally got my compy cleaned & updated! *cheers* all there's left to do is creating backup CDs, which will doubtlessly take days. other than that tho, i def feel better about my compy's current state of health...esp. after installing a new anti-virus program, a new firewall & a new browser. ^^v something "psuedo-cool" happened when i suddenly got attacked by a trojan last night. usually i just let my compy's defense system do its job, but just for the heck of it, i decided to track down the evil doers. upon starting up the virtual tracking system, a techy map of the world popped up & slowly it started zooming in to a certain country, showing the coordinates of the originating IP address. 0.o obviously it's not remotely as advanced or accurate as govt tracking, but it was kinda cool. ^_^; now, if only i can transport myself through cyber space, i'd def get whoever it was on the other end. *turns into fiercely protective mode* no one harms my baby (a.k.a. compy)!! >o< p.s. just checked weather.com and it's only 10°F outside right now (tho adding: "it feels like -4°"). you def won't be seeing me leave the house anytime soon!

   [FANGIRL // random thoughts...]

* finished reading vol.4 of "lament of the lambs". the story is dangerously twisted & addictive; and the art (ink drawings?) is extremely beautiful. i love it so much!! hmmm, maybe i should make some wp's for this manga in the future? anyways, the suspense is really building up, i can't wait till the next vol. comes out!! * finally got to read up to vol.10 of "kare kano" this weekend. (i'm still kinda behind tho!) the plot is getting increasingly complex as more charas are introduced. dunno why, but i like it better when the series is NOT focused on the main storyline of yukino & soichiro. ^_^; for example, i love the story of maho & takashi (vol.10); and the childhood story of tonami & sakura (vol.8) was so touching that i started to cry as i read. think i'm falling in love w/ this series more and more, it's touching how masami tsuda-sensei can artfully draw on paper the feelings & emotions i can't even describe. of all the charas introduced so far, i like maho the best...i can really identify w/ her! ^^ * didn't WB used to air --NEW-- YGO episodes every Saturday?? what happened to that?? >_<; * lastly, "DBGT" was really exciting last night, wasn't it?? ok, maybe just the last couple minutes of the show when vegeta *finally* transformed into SSJ4!! didn't he just look awesome?! i've to agree w/ you, bulma, vegeta does look better than goku. ^///^ tho i've already seen this series --raw-- on the international channel, it's always better the 2nd time around, esp. now that i can actually understand what the charas are saying!

   [LIFE // infected objects: 12 & in counting]

hiya guys! guess this is another one of my half-witted "LIFE" updates, but i'll update nonetheless before i break for the weekend. pls be patient w/ my ramblings. ^_^; * on wed, i went to the mall & stood for about half an hour in the manga aisle in waldenbooks, contemplating on which manga to purchase, my mind slowly leaning towards GGG. however --somehow-- almost every manga i wanted to buy looked like it suffered from all the symptoms of too long a shelf life (or abuse & neglect from store employees?): bent corners, broken spine, discolored pages & dust-collected covers (geez! even we dust off books at the library!). it was a sad sight. so i decided to just exit the store then, empty-handed except for one magazine. *sigh* maybe i'll try my luck again some other time. * but a day later, tempted by the steep holiday discounts offered on Rightstuf.com, i went on an otaku shopping spree & spent more money than i prob should. uh...therefore, the manga, at the end, would have to wait. ^_^;; and now, for some good news & bad news: * good news! i mailed out my x'mas cards! * bad news! my NAV has expired & today i got a new antivirus program (AVG). so far, it has detected 12+ infected objects (mostly trojans) on my compy!! :*( poor baby, i didn't know it was so sick!! *blames self* i'm glad it's only trojans tho, if it's some malicious virus, my compy'd have died...and...that'd have been horrible. T_T well, i'm off to continue scanning & updating my compy & creating backup etc. (wish me luck! ^_^) ja ne! have a happy weekend! :)

   [LIFE // today: snowed in & sleeping in]

waah~ seems like i was unable to update my wp's over the weekend after all. u_u geez, i've really been slacking this month, haven't i? *depressed* OK! no more moping around! i need to buckle down & get some wp's done no matter what! yep, that'd be one of my goals for this week!! >_<; well, since i don't have anything important to say, i'll just ramble on about nothing. hehe ^_^; * first of all, i wanna thank the people who had commented on my last post; your encouraging words really helped to make me feel better!! ^^ and i'm glad everyone seem to like my YGO fanart too. *relieved* * after an entire day of rain, it finally started snowing on saturday night! just in time for X'mas! *excited* * went jogging with my brother on sunday afternoon. tho my legs are really sore now, the exercise was certainly much-needed for a person who's used to sit in front of the computer all day. ^^; well, what was weird was that we bumped into two other joggers -- who i didn't recognize as being from around my neighorhood -- running towards us on the opposite side of the street. we couldn't even tell if they were male or female. 0_o; anyways, they saw us coming & immediately changed direction, jogging away back the way they came. maybe they just wanted some "privacy", but from the way they acted, my brother and i thought that was kinda suspicious. can't be too careful these days... * still deciding on which manga series to get (= to invest in): D.N.Angel, Naruto, Samurai Deeper Kyo, Scryed, or shoujo titles like Pita-Ten or Girl Got Game... *sigh* i've read a couple volumes of each & loved them all, now i've to decide which series do i actually want to own. it's a tough decision to make... ?_? * gotta finish & mail out X'mas cards to everyone on my address book by tomorrow! this year, i'm determined to get my X'mas cards to their recipients on-time & actually before X'mas, not several weeks into the new year, for a change. ^_^;; * lastly, weather report for my city: lake effect snow! yay!! :D AND temps in the upper 20s...well, maybe not so 'yay!!' about this one.

   [LIFE // ......]

wow, i just realize that i haven't updated for days, gomen ne!! ^_^;; guess i've been feeling rather exhausted & stressed out lately. there never seems to be enough time to finish all the stuff i need to do. and to make me feel even worse, i've been receiving a lot of criticism from my family -- "family friends" (a.k.a. "nosy nobodies") included -- about some life decisions i've made. argh!! as if they know me! >_<; to take my mind off the problems, i've been playing mini games on my cellphone. ^_^ tho at risk of being labeled as a 'dork' or, as my close friends call me, a 'goofball', i still must admit that i'm becoming quite addicted. no quitting before beating the game, muhahaha!! there's definitely smtg very soothing about smashing buttons & listening to cheerful, hypnotic games midi's....XD and, switching to another topic, what's w/ WB cutting short the ending of YGO's Battle City arc & shuttling us back to the Virtual World? what's w/ showing us first thing how seto was unjustly defeated by noah? what's w/ seto always losing & having to wait for yugi to rescue him? UNJUST, i tell u! *clings to rock statue of seto & cries*

anyways, i'm still working on the next set of wp's but i prob would be able to update soon (by this week's end, hopefully?? u_u;). in the meantime tho, i finished an x'mas fanart for YGO. yup, it's seto & i wishing y'all a happy holiday!! (warning: artist's conception) ^///^ at first i was working on a (more realistic) "grown up" version of this picture, but after hrs of drawing & erasing, i got so many smudges on it that i had to start over. the 2nd time around, i became lazy & reverted back to drawing child-like figures instead. i haven't drawn anything in a *very* long time, so pls forgive whatever doesn't look right. and hope u'd like it! ^_^;

   [FANGIRL// malik of a 1000 faces]

over these past few weeks, i've been watching the reruns of YGO's "battle city finals" on TV. this 2nd time around, i can pay less attention to the dialogue or the duel & more time to just marvel at the animation. lol, i esp love the charas' facial expressions & exaggerated gestures. yMalik's are esp classic! SETO [sulking in a corner]: u never pay any attention to me any more. ME: yes i do. see, i know tht when u laugh, somehow u remind me of tht villain 'joker' from batman. i don't have any screencaps on hand to prove it, but u know u do. SETO [shocked]: wht??! tht clown?!?! i'm insulted!! ME [hugs]: don't worry, seto-kun, u r a lot hotter than joker can ever be. u r cute when u smirk, but just don't laugh from now on. it doesn't suit u. SETO [grumbles]: i should've known...
