   [FANART// play hard, YGO boys!]

ME: at long last, an update! just in time for finishing up the month of november. amidst the chaos of daily life, this 2nd set of YGO wp's took forever to finish. after finishing the (more "serious") "egyptian legacy" theme, i wanted to do smtg *fun* w/ the YGO boys. so i ended up w/ some sort of a "gorgeous bad bishies" fest. hahaha. ^^ yup, i decided not to slack off this time and actually spent time making up different designs for the bkgd. ^_^; i love them all, so hope u guys will like these wp's too. [waves & turns to leave] SETO: hold on, i've two questions for u. ME [stops]: seto-kun?...sure, ask away. SETO: question one. would u kindly explain why i only got one measly wp in this update, while the other two undeserving morons have four??! ME: uh...that's because...uh...i already made wp's for u back in october, so now it's their turn to get featured? SETO: feh whatever! on to question two: why r u using that pathetic malik as ur avatar?! i'm supposed to be ur fave bishie, but i never got to be featured on the avatar!! all i ever got are a couple lousy wp's... ME: a "couple" u said?? isn't that nice, seto-kun? a couple is more than one! u see, kenshin is my fave char and so far he only has one wp.... KENSHIN [offstage]: oro? SETO [shocked]: come again, what's this about ur FAVE char?? ME [innocently]: uh...i'm afraid i speakest too much truth...? YUGI/JOU/HONDA/ANZU/MAI etc. pop out from nowhere and grab SETO. they look extremely bubbly and cheerful w/ big smiles on their faces. YUGI/JOU/HONDA/ANZU/MAI etc. [cheerfully]: aww, don't feel bad, kaiba. welcome to our club of under-represented YGO characters! we've little to no screentime, but we're still happy. u should learn that frienship and love are what's impt in life, not popularity! blah blah blah.... SETO [struggles to break free]: what the--?!! hands off, u bunch of idiots !! how dare u lump me in w/ u losers!! ME: now, now, seto-kun, don't be mean. SETO gets carried offstage, kicking and screaming, by the cheerful members of 'the club of under-represented YGO characters'. the stage is now empty except for ME. ME [sighs]: i wish i could make wp's for the others too, but i think i've already spent too much time on YGO. so next month, i'll try to focus more on *other* anime series for a change... [looks up into the infinite sky] seto-kun, i know u will come back!...some day... XP

   [LIFE// nov. 25 specials!]

first of all, happy thanksgiving to y'all!! hope u will have a great time w/ ur family & a safe drive home afterwards! ^^ today's specials not only inlcude turkey, potatoes...& yummy desserts (in this case, an experimental peach cobbler made by urs truly, lol!), but also the *FIRST SNOW* of the season!! XD i was so surprised to wake up to find the world outside blanketed beneath a layer of white. for tho both the temperature & barometer have been falling drastically these past few days, snow still comes kinda unexpected...sleet or icy rain maybe, but snow??! c'mon! it's thanksgiving! it's still november!!...but i'm happy nonetheless, as urumi from GTO would say: "snow is a present from Heaven". ^^ well, i'll try to get some wp's done this weekend & maybe also prepare for the new december layout (yay!). but btwn hanging out w/ family, working at the mall & decorating the house for x'mas (!!)....uhh...i really hope i can find some personal time to get *something* (anything!) done. ^_^;

   [FANGIRL// good things go to those who wait]

...esp in a world where marketing teams & product development specialists conspire together daily to come up w/ (often slight) product modifications (justified as being "added value" for the consumer's benefit) in order to either maintain or increase the product's market appeal & consumer demand. the consumer, therefore, should resist "impulse buys" & any other illogical urges to possess a new product until its "final" (or so we thought!) debut. more importantly, a consumer should stay informed on a product's future upgrades & planned re-releases! case in point, from the life of n-san whose identity she wishes to remain undisclosed: a> a certain "star wars episode one podracer" game for the N64, previously purchased at approx $60 at its debut, now sells for less than $10 at local walmart. not to mention the fact that the N64 has already become a "dead system". b> a certain kpop album purchased at its debut two months (or so) ago is now re-released as a "newly repackaged limited edition" album w/ a bonus VCD (of music videos) & a 44-pg photo album -- all for a couple more dollars than the original. and now the (most recent) case that causes n-san much grief & heartache.. c> the much beloved "samurai x: trust & betrayal - director's cut" OVA, purchased at sam goodie's for approx $30 two years ago, now sells for $8.99 on www.rightstuf.com. not to mention the fact that the more recent "samurai x" OVA series boxset contains the same film in its superior, original form -- as the separate 'trust' and 'betrayal' OVA's, w/ tons of extras not included in the aforementioned *combined* product. >>thus, today's lesson is: the importance of *patience*...a.k.a. the folly of impulse buys<< ...unless, of course, it really, truly WAS a limited edition. then if one missed out, one is simply screwed. ...unless, of course, should it later be found on eBay, as a "used" or a suspicious "low-quality-copy" copy... ^_^;;

   [LIFE// friday, and put on hold]

went to the mall today to check out the place where i was recently offered a temp job for the holiday season. i was supposed to start working this weekend, but as it turned out, the owner said that business isn't as busy as expected so he wouldn't be needing me to start until much later -- maybe like after thanksgiving. *sigh* is it b/c of the slow economy that people aren't shopping as much as they used to in november? or is it b/c everyone is just procrastinating & gonna wait till a week before dec 25 to do their shopping?? either way, it's kinda disappointing...i was really looking forward to starting & earning some (much needed) x'mas money too. u_u after that tho, i still had a "pleasant" stroll in the mall, what w/ all the glittery holiday decorations & christmas songs playing over the broadcast & kids crying, yanking their parents into toy stores... ahhh, it gave such a nice, warm, fuzzy feeling. ^^ ok. let's move on...

   [FANGIRL// gotta have YGO! ^0^]

have u guys seen it? the 2005 YGO calendar is already out!! :D *fanfare* (well, there were calendars of inuyasha, hellsing, girls of anime...etc. too) the theme for next year is "enter the shadow realm". it features both awesome group pics (nice big ones that take up the whole length of the calendar) & juicy pics of malik (pin up for january!) *drools*. for people suffering from the 'malik withdrawal syndrome' since his departure from the story, this is definitely a must have!! ^0^ also checked out the new YGO movie dvd. but i was very disappointed that the language selection options only include english/espanol/francais; what happened to the orig japanese? if they even bothered making it multi-lingual & dubbing it into spanish/french (no offense! ^^;;), why didn't they just leave the orig japanese in there as well?? is it that difficult to just leave the orig audio in tact?? uuurgh. anyways, should i buy now or hold out for a (possible)(future)(re-package)(box-set) new edition that will include the japanese track?? ahhh, decisions, decisions. >_<;

   [FANART// egyptian legacies...]

yay! just got done w/ five new wp's for YGO!! ^0^ i've wanted to do wp's w/ the cast (well, least the major char's who share an egyptian past) in their egyptian customes for a long time (i love historical customes!!). and after hours of search, the images i ended up using range from manga scans, doujinshi art & scans from the 2004 calendar (u can tell which one, right? ^_^). the downside to having this variety of sources is: the drawing styles are all different & they don't look very uniform together. u_u; but hey, at least the boys all look (SO) good, don't they? (esp. seto & bakura in this instance, tehehe... *drools*) still i must admit to being *very* frugal in reusing the same bkgd four times. ^_^;; i honestly thought that the mosaic/stained glass look (yes! it is NOT animal skin!!) would be nice for historical themed wp's...tho it's not exactly egyptian. ~x~ ...and an apology to dear malik. i know u don't look as hot as the others what w/ u drawn in simple lines & hidden behind ur 'rare hunter' cloak & all. i promise i'll make better wp's for u in the future, okkies? *pleads* ^^; ok ok, last comment: the group pic! hahahah, i call it the 'gather around seto' formation! am i playing favorites here? hohoho...^0^ (well, not *entirely*, since it was *partly* done for a technical reason...) and somehow the wp turned out looking more byzantine than egyptian, darn i tried my best...u_u ...hmm, my YGO fixation still hasn't been completely satisfied...maybe more YGO wp's next time??! hohoho...^^v >> p.s. waaah~ this quiz result made me so happy & proud, i'm just gonna show it off here! XD YOU ARE A TRUE MARIK FAN! Well done! I applaud you! You understand that, although Marik is good-looking, he does have a personality and a history that go along with the face. Chances are, you're more knowledgeable about him than most people. Marik deserves some respect and you KNOW it!    [FANGIRL// orO? a new environment!]

in this chilly, gray & rainy november, i decided to erase the dark colors of october to completely change the look of my MyO page. the aftermath: isn't this brightness uplifting?? haha, it certainly feels diff around here & i hope hope u'll enjoy this cheerfulness too! XD aside from that, i don't really have anything to say today, so i'll just share some random thoughts on some recent manga i've read! ^_^; ...don't u think "girl got game" (TP) by shizuru seino & "hana-kimi" (VIZ) by hisaya nakajo are awfully similar? they are both about a girl disguising herself as a boy in order to enter a boys' school/athletic team & the chaos/romance that ensues. personally, i prefer "girl got game" since it's more believable (as believable as a girl's crossdressing success can really get), the char's are more conflicted...& that the main male char is cuter (?!!). ^^ ...for those who are into horror/drama, "lament of the lamb" (TP) by kei toume is a very good read. it's about a long-held family secret & a pair of siblings who (resistingly?) are turning into vampires. so what is in their blood?? i've only finished vol.1, can't wait to read more tho! btw, the main female char really reminds me of 'mana' from rumiko takahashi's "mermaid saga", interesting. ...no more 90s romance! no more stories w/ char's of indistinguishable gender! no more flamboyant 90s/heavy metal fashion! and most importantly, no more guys in drag, pls!!! >_<; if u r familiar w/ the works of tomoko taniguchi ("miss me?" "princess prince" "aquarium" & so forth), u'd know what i'm talking about. argh! the horror!!! ...since my younger brother is currently into reading chinese martial arts manhwa, i've the chance to pick up some of his books & read too. and this is one thing i don't get: how come every char in there - male & female - look like they are body-builders? i know they are supposed to be martial artists, but still. ?_? well, enough rambling for today. i'm sure u r tired of reading my mumbo jumbo too. ^_^; gotta go back to work & reading...maybe.

   [FANART// true blue love...]

it feels like i haven't updated my wp in a while, tho it was only a week. maybe it's the guilt from seeing everyone being so productive that's getting to me & distorting my sense of time. ^_^; so i'll finally update today with three wp's for the series "ai yori aoshi" (AYA) by kou fumizuki. i put it under the 'original anime' category...huh, i really hope that's ok! *nervous* (see NOTE below!) anyways, i'm sure many of u will recognize the main female char aoi sakuraba (if not, her betrothed kaoru hanabishi) who is pictured. ^^;; after making so many wp's for my fave bishies (namely kouga & seto, lol!), i wanted to do smtg else for a change: a female char. and so i chose aoi from AYA; my goal was to picture her innocent flirtatiousness in diff ways. i really like her, tho sometimes i do get frustrated w/ that series, w/ it being in truth a 'fantasy' manga for young men and all. u_u; hope the wp's turned out all right. i think i had the most fun w/ the last one ('the thread that binds'). haha, a light blue watery bkgd, bubbles & flowers too -- could it be any more girlish?! hmm, maybe if i throw in some lace doily patterns too? lol! >> NOTE: now i know that's technically not allowed, but i did email the administrator like a week ago w/ a suggestion to open another wp category for AYA, but so far i haven't received any reply. this is the method to try to get a new category right? anyways, i'm not trying to cause trouble, so if needs be, i'll take these three wp's down. <<

   [FANART// shoujo...fantasy... ]

>> fantasy - n. imagination; a state of mind; a place to be; usually hits when one is physically and/or mentally exhausted (see also 'wishful thinking') << i've wanted to make halloween-themed wp's for quite some time now; and i've finally gotten around to it yesterday, three days before oct 31...just in time, huh? *sigh of relief* ^_^;; and since i'm still sorta recovering from the 'acid' attack from a couple of days ago, hence, i'm trying out shoujo & fantasy themes! ...though i did cave in a little on the 'black & white' wp...w/ its implied shonen ai...bad habits die hard... ~_~; anyways, the pictures are created by an artist named 'satsuki sheena'. i came across her work somewhere on the web a long time ago & was totally impressed. as her signatures are reserved on the pics, the credit of the artwork belongs to satsuki-san. (please don't sue me!! ^-^;;) ah, if u wanna find out more about satsuki-san & her magnificent artwork, visit her at SHEE'S CAFE! even tho the site is in japanese only, it's still very lovely & worthwhile to browse through! :) p.s. changed my avatar (it has been a while!) today & added the 'wht's not to love?!' pic of kenshin above!    [FANGIRL// when the pH gets too negative...]

yes, when i can't take any more of the pH inbalance, i shut off my connection to FanFiction.net or its more acidic counterpart AFF and try to restore to equilibrium by partaking more neutral & basic substances. after all, no matter how masterful the writing skills, how interesting the plot, or how attractive the characters...lemons & limes are still sour -- regardless of how one dresses them up. and overexposion to acidity can cause heartburn, headaches, excessive vomiting, wearing away of the lining of the esophagus...& a pure implusive fear of the sight of one bishie closing in on another one. =_= don't get me wrong! so far i've only read ONE & A HALF (the half being incomplete) yaoi fanfics. it came recommended; and perhaps against my better judgment, i clicked on it. the story was interesting w/ the (seto x jounichi) + (seto x otogi) pairings. (found here!) but in spite of it all, i still got bored -disillusioned??!- about half way through. in truth, i got tired of seto addressing jounichi as "my puppy/mutt/dog"... *shivers* >_<; i really have nothing against yaoi/yuri, as long as it is fictional (be it doujinshi/fanart/fanfic). anything NONfictional is out of the question. yes, i'm kinda hypocritical, but that's me. ^_^ actually i haven't come in contact w/ anything yuri since michiru kaioh x haruka tenoh, from the old 'sailormoon' days. they were my fave couple from SM, haha. all in all, i think i'm more possessive than yaoi. hey, NO WAY can my fave bishie make out w/ another bishie!! that's simply not allowed!! >_<; also, guess i've forgotten that i'm turned off of the romance genre a long time ago. after all, it's only the same thing over & over again. besides, too much of a good thing can be a bad thing, ne? *winkwink* so, i've decided to cease consumption of anything containing citric acid from now on. ...until my allergic reactions are over, at least. ahhh, i need a break... ^-^;;; >> the above post contains my personal opinions only. it's not made to offend or persuade anyone about anything. and if u have no clue what i just blabbed on about...i honestly, sincerely envy u. ^_^; <<
