The end of dragons chapter one
Rotting away in this cell makes me look back. Not only at all the accomplishments in my life or all the magic that I have learned, but also the bad times where was I almost slain by demons or evil barbarians. This is my legacy. I must start at the beginning to help you understand the whole story.
This is how the end of the dragons will come to be. They will all be slaughtered like pests. People do not understand that dragons were the first on this planet. Humans were even born from dragons, although very far on down the evolutionary chain.
Since a few years ago, people have been “snacked on” by dragons. The people of Hilay haven’t been taking it well. They want revenge for all the damage done to their villages and their families. I have been doing everything I can to protect the dragon race. I must find away to alert the home colony of the danger approaching the den even though I am locked in this dungeon. Again, I must start at the beginning to help you understand.…………………
My name is Neith Winchester, age 10 (then). I had wild, white hair and blue eyes. When I was a child, my father was advisor to King Horace. Horace was an incompetent leader. He and his wife ruled the town of Knar. His wife, Queen Linda, ruled better than he did. That puzzled me for the longest time because women had no power. Later, the scandal was discovered. She was sleeping around the castle to get what she wanted. She was immediately beheaded. Leaving King Horace to raise Princess Larenda. Horace raised Larenda better than my father raised me.
My father never spent any time at home with my mom and me. I understood fully that the king needed him. The king was so incompetent that he needed my fathers help to run his own royal family. Even though the king needed my fathers help, it didn’t stop me from hating him. My mother had to support us while my father lived in luxury. Momma worked in the field and shrugged off any mention of my father.
