[+.::HARUKO::.+]

Chapter Three:

Haruko and her troops attacked the enemies with full force. Haruko desperately wanted to end this horrible war, so she fought with all her might. "Naoki..." Haruko thought, "...I will avenge you!" She took her sword and slashed it through another enemy. Suddenly, she was jerked backwards by her long hair. Haruko realized an enemy was trying to get her. Without thinking, Haruko used her sword to cut her hair to escape. She knocked the enemy out by kicking him. Using her shield, she blocked another foe's attack. A sharp object suddenly struck her arm. She looked at her arm and saw that an arrow had hit her. Without a word, she removed the arrow and continued. She wanted to end the war, even if it had costed her life. Her arm bled the whole time. Haruko tried to ignore it, but the sharp pain was distracting. Soon the day was done, and when she had gotten home, she did not confront her father, for she was afraid he would notice the wound and not allow her to fight in the war no longer.
Three days later, it was Haruko's birthday. She didn't feel like celebrating. All she wanted to do was end the war. To her, that was the present she really wanted. "Happy birthday, Princess," one of her butlers said to her. "Thanks," Haruko said as her butler served her her breakfast. "Why did you cut your hair?" her butler asked. "Oh, um, I just...I just wanted to change my look, that's all. Um, you see, sometimes in battle my hair gets in the way," Haruko said. "Ah, I see," her butler replied. Haruko finished her breakfast and left for the battlefield.
When Haruko got to the battlefield, she noticed something a bit strange. "Huh?" Haruko thought, "There are actually less enemies then yesterday...Maybe our chance of our kingdom winning is getting bigger?" Haruko suddenly heard some sort of battle cry behind her. She turned around and saw that it was an enemy coming after her. "Heh, idiot..." Haruko said under her breath. She took her sword and killed the foolish person who attempted to attack Haruko. Haruko put her hands on her hips and said, "Never underestimate a girl like me." She suddenly heard another enemy, once again, trying to attack her. "Don't these idiots ever learn?" She sighed. She turned around and punched the enemy in the stomach. "That'll teach you!" she said. The enemy was knocked out at once. Haruko then took her sword and went in to kill the other enemies.
At the end of the day, Haruko went to confront her father. She had told him the number of enemies was lesser than the day before. Her father was very satisfied to hear this.
Haruko went to bed that night, but didn't sleep. Instead, she sat by her window and looked at the beautiful glowing moon. When she was a little girl, she would sometimes go to Naoki's room, and they would look at the moon together. When Haruko recalled this memory, tears filled in her eyes. She still couldn't believe what Naoki had done for her. He risked his own life to save her. "Maybe..." Haruko thought, "...Maybe if I was more alert at that time...Naoki would still be here...fighting along with me..." And with this, Haruko dozed off to sleep.
It was soon morning, and Haruko woke up to the rising sun. She got into her battle armor and went to eat breakfast.
When Haruko got to the battlefield, she realized there was double the amount of enemies now. "Oh no..." Haruko thought, "They must have fooled us into thinking we were going to win...Well, looks like I'll have to deal with even more idiots." She took out her sword. Her blade shined in the morning sun. She then ran into the crowd, and destroyed every enemy that was in her way. Weapons had hit her, yes, but she didn't care. Anyone who was foolish enough to strike her, became a dead man. Soon, many of the enemies were frightened by her power. Haruko was covered in blood. She was breathing heavily. She didn't want to give up. Very few enemies were left, and Haruko was slowly weakening. "I...can't...give up...now..." she said. Suddenly, a sword striked through her from the back.
