ZOMG take two
Nana has some new for Otaku. But right now Nana doesn't have the time to tell every one.
So instead Nana will tell a story.
The flashing lights of a red alert blared as Shinobu guided the ship through the battle. "Enemy port side." The weapon's officer informed
"Evasive actions. Disarm, don't destroy." Shinobu ordered.
"Banking and diving into side of enemy vessel." The pilot briefed.
"Whatever," Shinobu pressed the universal comm. button, "All hands, brace for impact."
Omoikane's voice answered the order, "To hell with that. All hands get comfortable, we gonna crash."
"Omo-chan!" Shinobu yelled, "There is a small amount of protocol...Aa, ouch, oof, ack..." Shinobu flew out of her chair when the ship hit the enemy's shields. The ship took a moment to steady.
"Enemy ship disabled." The tact officer informed.
"Thanks." Shinobu grunted as she got up off the floor, "Omo-chan, end program." She cracked her neck as the bridge disappeared revealing the holobay, "Damn it Omo-chan, that was supposed to be serious training."
"I know but, "Omoikane's voice answered, "I felt you should know it is your shift in five on the actual bridge."
"Right." Shinobu brushed her hair back and put it in a ponytail; she sighed, "Mission my ass." She left the holobay and headed to the lift, "Bridge." She ordered as she entered.
The lift moved smoothly up the few decks to the bridge; the lift doors opened, "Captain on the bridge." The stand in LT announced.
"Carry on." Shinobu said as she stepped down into the center of the bridge and took the chair the LT had occupied.
"Nothing unusual to report, Ma'am." The LT informed.
"Thanks, Kuroda-kun." Shinobu smiled, "Get some lunch."
"Will do." The LT bowed and left the bridge.
Shinobu let out a sigh as she leaned back in the chair, "Is there any reason why he likes to take the longest jobs out of the universe?" She asked rhetorically.
"Probably just to annoy you." The ensign at the weapon's consol answered.
Shinobu laughed lightly, "Wouldn't surprise me."
“Captain," The comm. officer called, "Incoming transmission from Vermillion."
"Put it through." Shinobu leaned forward in her seat, waiting for the comm. to connect, "What's..."
"I have a special mission for you," Vermillion interrupted, "One to sickbay for immediate treatment." The comm. cut off.
"Captain," The head nurse called over the comm., "We have just received one 18 year old female with a cauterized arm. It's been amputated up to the elbow."
"Roger that." Shinobu answered, "I'll get Nagie." The comm. cut off. The head nurse, Risa, turned back to her team, "Lets go people, prep her for a replacement."
"Yes ma'am." They answered
Risa snapped on a pair of gloves and walked over to the unconscious girl, "Now what is your story little one?" She lifted up the half arm, "Vermillion's doing," She commented, noticing the burn pattern. As she finished suiting up, Mesia handed the head nurse a pair of scissors. The head nurse proceeded to remove the girls shirt. "Two large bruises on chest," She looked at the panel above the girl's head, "caused by cracked ribs in the third wrung." Ezra turned the girl to her side slightly, "Minor lacerations on upper and lower back." She added.
Risa looked at Rei, who was standing to the side, "100cc of barrier solution; then prep a tyrium injection." She looked back to the girl; Mesia was placing a tourniquet on her half arm. Mesia moved down the body, "Now removing scab." She cringed at the sound the chard flesh made as she tore it off.
"Lovely." Rei commented as she brought over the barrier solution.
"Finished healing fractures." Ezra informed, "Preparing arm brace."
"Tourniquet, 5 minutes." Mesia informed, "Doing good."
"9 minutes till barrier takes affect." Rei added.
"Placing on arm brace." Risa said as she slipped the small cylindrical device over the girl's stub; a low hiss came from it as it sealed.
"Removing tourniquet." Mesia said as she slowly removed the band.
"I'm going to need everyone to clear the room." Nagie ordered as she entered; two younger girls trailed behind.
"Yes ma'am." Risa said motioning her team to leave, "Let's put a little hustle into it, ladies."
Nagie looked back at the two other girls, "Lisa, Rumi, other side of the girl."
"Yes Milady." The girls answered, moving quickly to the girl’s side.
Nagie placed a small green crystal on the girl's bare chest; she held out her hands. The other two took each other’s hands then Nagie's; the three formed a triangle. They bowed their heads, "Oh holy light of ancient lives past." Nagie started.
"We ask you to purify this innocent child." Rumi continued.
Lisa went on, "We asked the gods to forgive her of sins past."
"So she may be whole once again."
"Oh holy light of ancient lives past."
"We ask you to guide this individual through her pain,"
"And across the river of death,"
"So she may once again be born into this world anew."
"Oh holy light of ancient lives past."
"Hear our plea, help us,"
"In bringing this child into a life of light and goodness.
"This we ask and no more."
The crystal began to glow, its dim light lit the darkness around the three. Nagie looked up and opened her eyes, "Imade domi esa," her voice seemed to resonate, "kasar la mie. Vera saka des moneka mei." The crystal's light grew amazingly bright, illuminating through the girl's whole body. The three repeated the chant together; a gust of energy hit the three making their robes flutter.
"Oh holy light of ancient lives past," Nagie yelled over the wind.
"We ask you to purify this innocent child," Rumi strained to hold on to the other two.
"We ask the gods to forgive her of sins past." Lisa squinted into the bright light, her voice barely audible.
"So she may be whole once again."
"Oh holy..." Reaching her limit, Rumi pressed herself to continue, "Oh holy light of ancient lives past,"
"We ask you to guide this individual through her pain." Lisa could feel her hands go numb.
"And across the river of death." Nagie pressed on unrelentingly.
"So she may once again be born into this world anew." The room started to shake, the three braced themselves.
"Oh holy light of ancient lives past,"
"Hear our plea, help us,"
"In bringing this child into a life of light and goodness."
"This we ask and nothing more." Lisa gritted her teeth as another burst of energy hit the group. The three repeated the prayer again; the resulting energy burst flung all three of them aside.
The flashing lights of a red alert along with a gentle hand, greeted Rumi when she awoke, "Are you all right?" Nagie asked with a gentle smile.
"A bit dizzy," Nagie helped Rumi sit up, "But I think I'll be fine, Milady."
"That’s good to hear."
"Did we do it, Milady?"
"Sadly," Nagie sighed, "not all could be reversed. She'll never be able to be a 'pure' maiden again, and her age may not return for a hundred years or so."
"I'm sorry Milady. It's because I'm..."
"Shhh," Nagie put a finger on Rumi's lips, "You did great. I am proud of you." She looked back at Lisa, who was leaning weakly against the girl’s bed, "Both of you did excellent. You are on your ways to being wonderful maidens." She looked at Rumi, "So don't get yourself down because you almost cleansed a level 10 infection."
Rumi's eyes lit up, "Level 10, really?"
Nagie smiled, "Yep, and we couldn't have done it with out you."
Rumi embraced Nagie and squeezed her tight, "Thank you, Milady. I'm so happy."
Nagie stroked Rumi's hair, "Doubt is the first step of a spreading infection, but with time it passes. You did good, young one."
Nagie wiped the tears from Rumi's face and helped her up. Lisa walked over to the two and hugged Rumi, "Remember, maidens fight together, not alone. I'll always be glad to have you by my side."
"Now," Nagie said in a stern tone, "You two might be doing excellent, but don't start slacking."
The two snapped to attention with big smiles on their faces, "Yes Milady."
"Okay," Nagie put her hands on her hip and looked at the girl, "I want you two to take shifts watching over her till she wakes up. When she does, you can find me in the artifact room. I'm going to see if I can find a talisman to give her so she is constantly protected."
Rumi raised her hand, "I'll take the first shift."
Nagie smiled, "So be it."
