Nana Rants
On Remakes:

Okay, so Nana has like a few remakes but come on! There are at least over ten different Romeo and Juliett movies/shows. There are many others that Nana can't remember the names of, Transformers is another one. Most of the time it is an old play (Shakespear) or a book. There is nothing wrong with it, as long as the story feels fresh and different from the other 600 other adaptations.
It happens in Anime too, but it is a problem with genres. One in particular that comes to mind is the "Magical Girl". Nana likes this genre, but it seems that there are only so many good ones out these days. The typical set: a moe type girl usually in grade school or middle school, a plushy type mascot, frilly costume(s), some type of catch phrase, a wand, a transformation sequence, and a love intrest that is not intrested in them at the start. Nana's first series was actually Sailor Moon back when it was on Fox. Then came Cardcaptors. At the time it intrested Nana, until Nana started to see incongruence with the plot time line and a few other things. Later Nana found the Cardcaptor Sakura manga and it straightened out her views. As it stands, Sakura is one of the few Original feeling Magical Girls.
The genre meltdown is flooding America too. The cop/crime investigation type shows are rampent on TV. All the CSI type shows, The NYPD Blue's, The Sitcoms that all feel the same as the last Seinfeld. The most original sitcom Nana has seem is Arrested Development. As for the CSI type show Nana likes the best, NCIS. The best cop show, as short lived as it was, The Job. And one show that Nana can't really find a double for, Rescue Me.
Then there are sequels, many, many sequels. Take all the Disney movies. One of Nana's favorite discraces is Beauty and the Beast: The Enchanted Christmas. Now as we all know, the original movie had a complete and solid plot and ended with the freeing of the castle. The sequel, somehow has the cast back in their cursed bodies and a new villian then never appeared the the original stand alone movie. Someone explain this to Nana. Then Bambi 2 and Lion King 2, and every other damned Disney movie part 2-100. Another recent film that astounds Nana with the complete lack of plot regard is High School Musical 2. Nana never saw the first and sure as hell ain't seeing the next one. How in gods name did they even begin to fathum a sequel when the original probably sucked royal ass?

On Gas Prices:

Nana has this to say, "I've been over to where the government says they are trying to get oil, and guess what, we already have those places." When Nana left from overseas, the price was a little over $2 and that is fine. Nana gets back and it is well over $3. Nana knows it is all the corperations doing trying to get all the worlds money but still...

On Naruto:

Nana realizes that there are many fans of the show out there, but Nana sometimes can't see why. Nana has never really been a fan of the Shounen Jump type series and probably never will be. The plots are very predictable as well as the dialoge. The characters usually seem fairly one dimensional. And they last forever. Every episode feels the same as the last and if the viewer is lucky, every once in a while there might me an actual plot twist or character development. Yes, Nana realizes that it is kinda like her Magical Girl thing. But atleast the ones she watches don't reach over 80 episodes and that is only because Cardcaptor Sakura has two movies.

Yesterday, an alien space craft landed on the White House lawn. The crew exited the ship and proceeded to preform surprise Buttseck on the president and vice president. When they finished, they paid them $100 each and left never calling.
