I have a proposal
For those who want, I have a contest of sorts.

I have set up a scene, but no character or real situation. The contest is to complete the scene. PM me if you wish to try and I'll send you my email so you can send me the finished product.

It Begins:

The bright afternoon sun flooded the crystalline fields below, creating a dancing sea of transparent green. Up at the top of the cliff the soft grass stretched off to the edge of the town, disappearing beyond the houses. A light fall breeze blew along the stretching grass, bending it gently to the ground. Birds flew over head singing songs of the coming storm, which was only a few days away. The laughter of children rode the breeze to any listening ear. The air was full of amazing scents that tantalized the receiver with their gentle words of hunger.
The town was calm and moved at a easy going pace. Its people care not the passing of time but more for the things they were doing. Every smile bright, every laugh full and hearty; their love radiated out into the heavens and was captured by the stars so they could shine on forever. The children played nonsensical games with one another; each as fun and engaging as the next. Once in a while an older kid would join the younger ones and their game became even the better because now they could play longer.
The day slowly came to a close; the sun began to hide beyond the sea of transparent green changing it to a dancing array of rainbow ribbons that disappeared into the sky. The red ribbed clouds gently blanketed the darkening sky. One by one the many stars revealed their light; one by one the houses lit theirs. The crickets that swan in the grass played a calming melody that told all that night had come. The breeze now carried the smell of night, the soft and cool smell of nature herself.
Below the cliff now lies a vast field of night. The crystals took in the sky and spread it among each other. The red moon hung low in the eastern sky, its rusty rays painted the white shadows made by the moon that stayed high in the night sky. The laughter of the town had died down and was replaced by the quiet sounds of reflection. They sit together at their houses talking of the day gone by and of the day to come. They laugh still, sometimes, but only to the memories of the day. The young children lay down to rest while the older ones lay back and lose themselves in the sea of stars.
‘A wonderful day,’ some would say. ‘The best day ever,’ other might say. But for some, it was just another day, just another disappointment.
