My review of HP movie #5
My rating: 4/5 stars :D

It really was pretty good... if you go see it with an open mind.

I know a lot of people who say it sucked say so because of all the stuff they left out. Well think about it: if they didn't leave some stuff out, we'd have a 6-8 hour movie on our hands.

Granted, they did leave some important stuff out (like who became prefects & Quidditch in general), but the movie still made sense without those points.

One thing that did bug me (& makes me wonder how they're going to cover it in the next movie) was they left out the whole Valentine's Day incident (I'm not going into details because I don't want to leave spoilers for people who haven't read it yet). It wouldn't make too much difference if the couple in question actually stays together, but they don't. *shrugs* Ah well, that's the movie makers' problem to sort out, not mine.

The lady who played Umbridge did an excellent job with her, I just wish they had made her look remotely accurate. :\ Yeah, she had curly hair & the pink outfit, but she was not anything else that Rowling described her to be.

Straight from the book:

"He [Harry] thought she looked just like a large, pale toad. She was rather squat with a broad, flabby face, as little neck as Uncle Vernon, and a very wide, slack mouth. Her eyes were large, round, and slightly bulging. Even the little black velvet bow perched on top of her short curly hair put him in mind of a large fly she was about to catch on a large sticky tongue."

The lady looked nothing like that. D8 Ah well, again, not my problem to fuss over. At least she played to character to a "T" - so much that I wanted to punch the screen. XD

I really don't like the new Dumbledore actor. Why did the original have to die?! D'8 He was EXACTLY how Dumbledore was described to be - he had the look, the attitude, & most of all, the soothing voice. RIP man.

On to some good points though (^^; ):

~ Luna. OMG she was PERFECT. Just... wow. <3
~ Thestrals. They looked amazing. 8D I want one. XD
~ Ron is still amazing. <3 <3 <3 <3 (He's always been my fave)
~ The Department of Mysteries. I cried - I really did. I think they did that scene absolutely perfectly. ;u;
~ The twins still rule. Hard. >8D
~ Umbridge's interviews with the teachers. That whole sequence was so funny! XD

Ok, methinks that's it. :D
