Manga Monday

Monday went pretty well. Class was the same as usual, except for English, which was cancelled ^_^. I borrowed Fruits Basket vol 3 from a friend, and I read that during my scholarship service hours. I'm liking that series. My friend just needs to get beyond vol 4. After I was done with my hours, I came back to my dorm for a nap.

Naps are good. It was then dinner time. I ate some pork and some buffalo wings. Good eating. Went to Books-A-Million, where I didn't get anything.. Luckily, they didn't have Trigun Maximum 7. If they did, I'd have it and be broke. Well, I returned for a manga reading group with some of the anime club members. I read Full Moon wo Sagashite 1, Fushigi Yugi: Genbu Kaiden 1, Bleach 1, Mar 1, and Tokyo Boys and Girls 1. Some was good, some was just ok. I think of them, I liked Fushigi Yugi: Genbu Kaiden the best. As part of the deal of reading them, I had to write some sort of review for them. I did that and put them on the club forums. I hope they go ok. After reading all that at the library, I returned here, and that's where I am. That's pretty much my night. Tuesday, I get to sleep in, so yay. I guess that's all. Have fun commenting.

Weekend of Gaming and Manga

Fairly good weekend full of hanging out and gaming and manga reading. Saturday, I got to sleep fairly late. I started hanging out with friends arounf 4pm, and I didn't get done until after 2am. We played Naruto 3 for the GC and DBZ Budakai 2 for the PS2. I also played Phoenix Wright on my DS. I'm finally on the last case and should beat it fairly soon. I also read vol 7 of Negima and vol 1 of Fruits Basket. Both good. After going from room to room, I decided to call it a night, and I got to sleep around 3am.

Sunday, I worked at the Wood/Felder desk from 2pm to 3pm, talking with some friends the entire time. After that, a trip to Cyber for lunch. After Cyber, we went to Game Crazy and stayed there for a couple of hours, without buying a thing. Came back, hung out at the cyber again, playing more Phoenix Wright and reading Fruits Basket vol 2. I returned to my dorm around 8pm and finished Fruits Basket vol 2 and just wandered the web. This brings me to now, talking to some people on AIM while typing this up and eating ramen. I'll shower and possibly study some before calling it a night. That's pretty much all of my weekend. Not much else. Have fun commenting.

Papers Suck

What a day (Wednesday). Ok, last night (Tuesday night), I worked on an English paper until 3:30 in the morning, and I had to get up at 7:20. That's less than four hours of sleep. I hate that. Oh well. I turned the paper in after Japanese, so no more worrying about that. Karate was easy, and so was my service work. Dinner was fun, and then there was the anime club.

Anime club was great. We watched Paradice Kiss, Mai Hime, Dokoro-chan, Blood+, Hell Girl, My Wife is a High School Girl, and Speed Grapher. Plenty of good stuff. Also, the club president asked everyone who wanted to be president next year. My friends were saying I should try for it, so I am as well as a few more. It's going to be voted upon, so I know at least one guy won't win. I'm skeptical since it'll be a lot of work, and I don't like work, but I'll see when I learn what all the president does.

After the club, there was the usual hang out at the cyber cafe, followed by walking around with some friends and winding up watching some of AMV Hell 3. Still funny. I came back here at almost 1am, and I'll probably sleep soon. That completes the day for me. I guess that's all to talk about for now. Everyone have fun commenting.

Late and Short Post

Last night was cool, until I started on my paper. I didn't get done until 3:20 am, and I had to get up at 7:20. Lack of sleep sucks. At least there's the anime club tonight. I'll post later after the date change. Bye.

Sunday

Sunday. I hung out with my sister, aunt, and two cousins for a couple of hours. We were kinda celebrating my sister's b-day last Friday. Here's the rant part here. She got a cell phone from her dad and stepmom. I have no cell phone. My dad and stepmom (mine, not hers. weird family structure) would make me buy my own and pay the bill and all, and I don't want to (cheap college student). We visited my grandpa, which was cool. I came back here and stayed online for awhile. I later met some of my newly returned friend and watched some more friends para para. Fun to watch, but I wouldn't really want to do it. They were good though. I then ate at cyber with friends and came here, where I'm posting. I probably won't do the English work I planned on doing so I can get some decent sleep hours instead. I guess that's all. Everyone have fun commenting.

Slow Day and a Review.

Well, this Saturday was fairly boring. I had to work four hours at a dorm desk. It was really hot and stuffy there, and I think it's in some time warp because time seemed to move really slow. Well, I hung out with some friends for about an hour and then came back to the dorm, where I've been all day. Got to watch Toonami and Adult Swim for the first time in a couple of weeks, which brings me to this:

IGPX. The anime produced by Cartoon Network and Production IG. My opinion? Not bad. Now, I watched this when it was first shown in five 5-minute shorts on Toonami a few years ago, back when Toonami was on weekdays. One thing I preferred then was the fact that the mechs were in a battle contest, not a race. I would have preferred that in this new one, but they do fight in the race, so that kinda helps. The voice work isn't bad either. Haley Joel Osment does a good job as Takeshi. Mark Hamill was good as Yamma (Mark Hamill is freaken awesome). It is a bit cliched that the main character and best racer, Takeshi, doesn't work too well with the team, but I do like his relaxed and passive attitude. The series reminds me a lot of Zoids: New Century, which I liked too. Hopefully, this will be a good series.

Last Couple of Days

I know, I haven't been posting much. Sorry everyone. Here's what's been happening since Thursday night.

Thursday night, at the anime club live action show / anime movie night, we watched this show that I believe it translated into Train Man, but I'm not sure. It's about this very socially awkward otaku in Japan who meets this girl who to him seems to possibly like him, so he tries to get the courage to call her. At least that's the first episode. It was really cool. The guy may have been kinda sad and pathetic, but he had an awesome room. Anime figures everywhere, mostly Asuka, Rei, and Gundams, which are still cool. The movie we watched was Ghost in the Shell: Innocence, which was good too.

Yesterday, class went by as usual. The night was kinda boring. A lot of my friends left campus to go home and stuff. Stupid friends abandoning me. There's a couple still here, but it's still kinda boring. Tomorrow, I'm supposed to be going off to do something with my aunt and sister and maybe other family for my sister's b-day, so at least I'll have something then. I don't really have much else to talk about, so I'll go now. Have fun commenting.

Anime Club Wednesdays Are Great

Wednesday was great, aside from waking up early. I finally had clean clothed from doing laundry Tuesday. Classes were fine though. My service work for my scholarship was cool since I got to finish my Vampire Hunter D novel. Now, I just need the second volume out in the states (there's seventeen of them in Japan).

Anime club was cool. We watched some good stuff, and some stuff I don't remember the name too. I really looked forward to Mai Hime since I knew it was a really good episode that we would watch, and it was. We also signed up for a secret santa for the Christmas party, which I suggested on the forums. Cool. Afterwards, the usual hangout at Cyber Cafe for hours, talking about whatever pops into our heads until the corner section we're in is closed at midnight. After that, I came here, where I'm posting.

Thursday, I have a lab at 9, which isn't bad since I can nap afterwards, which I probably will too. Not really much else planned until the anime club movie/live action series night. We'll watch some Japanese live action show and an anime movie, preferrable a Lupin III movie. I guess that's all to post about. Have fun commenting.

Depressing Halloween Night Rant

Disappointing Halloween. At least I dressed up. I was a shirt ninja, using a shirt for a mask, wearing a "I'm Ninja (you can't see me)" shirt, and had my bokken. However, the anime club party was a bit of a let down. It wasn't a party. It was a meeting. We watched some good stuff, like Blood: The Last Vampire, Speed Grapher, and Trinity Blood. Still, other than the costume contest and the para para demonstration, both were short. In fact, I talked to some of the para para people who left because they were bored, expecting a party. It sucked that they left, but what sucked more is that they had a really good point. I still enjoyed the anime, but as this was supposed to be a party, it failed in that aspect.

You ever want to watch something so that you can get it out of the way? Something so that you can just say that you've seen it? Well, I did that tonight with Rocky Horror Picture Show. Now, I no longer have to see it, and thank goodness for that. I was disappointed (seems to be the theme tonight) with this movie, but then again, I didn't expect much, so oh well. It just didn't interest me, and I found everyone yelling and doing stuff during the movie to be annoying, even if it's what they're supposed to do. I was still a shirt ninja, so I had my bokken, and I wanted to hit people with it. I can see how people would like it. It does encourage audience participation, and that is creative. All the acting and such was ok. It just didn't entertain me, and now I know not to see it anymore.

Tuesday, I have a meeting with my academic advisor at 10:30, class from 1 to 4, and laundry to do. At least I have change. I'll probably break a dryer though, but oh well. At least I have no homework. Sorry for the rants above. I was put into a ranting mood. I guess I'll leave it at that. I'll see about getting my shirt ninja pic on here some time. That's all for now. Have fun commenting.

My Long Weekend

Yesterday was awesome. I went to the club meeting at 10:30. At 11, we started watching episodes 7-9 of Angelic Layer. Good series. Then, lunch at Chef Wangs. Good food. After returning around 2pm, it was time to set up gaming. There were a lot of games played for the tournament, but I just played Super Smash Bros Melee and Naruto on the Gamecube. I lost at both. Still fun. A lot of us eft around 7 or 8, and some of us got together and went to Wendy's for dinner. Then, Wal-Mart, and finally back to the dorms. I hung out in a friend's dorm, reading Negima vol 3 and Yotsuba vol 1. Good books. I decided to call it a night and came back to my dorm, where I went to sleep after turning my clock back.

Sunday, I got up around 9 something. The Wood/Felder desk called my to sub for someone, and after getting dressed and eating some ramen, I did that from noon to 2pm. I read on my Vampire Hunter D novel while doing that. Then, back to the dorm where stayed online for a while. Then, I went to eat and hang out. I was at my friend's dorm again, watching people play Soul Calibur 3 while I read Negima vol 4 and played Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney for the DS. Freaken awesome game. Then, late dinner and back here, where I'm posting now. Long weekend. I'll do my homework eventually. I guess that's all for now. Everyone have fun commenting.

Oh, and Happy Halloween everyone.
