Bed Time Gripe
My dad came in my room at about 1:00 AM (it's nearly 1:30 AM now)and asked me if I should be asleep. I said no. Then he asked if I have a clock. I refered him to my digital clock, my clock on my laptop, and my two watches somewhere on my desk. He said that he doesn't like dragging me out of bed at 10:00 AM in the morning. Well, guess what. I don't like it either. It's not like I ask him too. I get up at 5:30 AM on weekdays, which is earlier than him or my stepmom. I think I deserve to sleep in. Besides, I told him that this is how I work, that I sleep late and stay up late. Night is my best time and when my brain is working at its best. He then tells me that I'd better change because that's not how the real world works. I didn't say these to him, but I have some arguements for that:
1. I'm 17. It's a little late for changing my sleeping schedule. Let nature do that for me. I'm fine the way it is.
2. It's not like I'm staying that much later than weekdays. I usually don't get to sleep until about 1 or 2 in the morning due to homework (I procrastinate, but then again, every genious procrastinates. It's our defining feature.)
3. I never asked him to wake me up in the first place.
4. What's so good about the real world anyways? Maybe it's about time it changed.
Well, that's just my gripe for now. Be sure to expect more because this one is definately not the last. Go ahead and comment. See you later. |
