Slow Day and a Review.
Well, this Saturday was fairly boring. I had to work four hours at a dorm desk. It was really hot and stuffy there, and I think it's in some time warp because time seemed to move really slow. Well, I hung out with some friends for about an hour and then came back to the dorm, where I've been all day. Got to watch Toonami and Adult Swim for the first time in a couple of weeks, which brings me to this:
IGPX. The anime produced by Cartoon Network and Production IG. My opinion? Not bad. Now, I watched this when it was first shown in five 5-minute shorts on Toonami a few years ago, back when Toonami was on weekdays. One thing I preferred then was the fact that the mechs were in a battle contest, not a race. I would have preferred that in this new one, but they do fight in the race, so that kinda helps. The voice work isn't bad either. Haley Joel Osment does a good job as Takeshi. Mark Hamill was good as Yamma (Mark Hamill is freaken awesome). It is a bit cliched that the main character and best racer, Takeshi, doesn't work too well with the team, but I do like his relaxed and passive attitude. The series reminds me a lot of Zoids: New Century, which I liked too. Hopefully, this will be a good series. |
