   Hi
Lol it's my friends 16th birthday today, so everyone post "Happy Birthday Deppling" if you want to make her happy. It would be advisable to make her smile, as she has a big cake with her. So yeah. There it is.

"Brave New Worlds" is fantastic: it's gross, but it's a good story. I'd advise you to read it if you can.

Do you know what was a letdown? Peter Pan and the Starcatchers. It's meant to be the prequel to J.M. Barrie's novel, but it's no good. Don't get me wrong, it's not rubbish, but it's by two guys without ANY experience of children's literature. Barrie's novel was deliberaely bizarre enough to get kids interested, an escape from reality - against the Huxleyan idea that anyone other than Alpha's and Beta's reading is detrimental to productivity. It's too logical, it's only got little bits and pieces that will make kids laugh - like the fact that Black Stache's secret weapon is The Ladies: sails fashioned like a giant brassiere. It's a poor addition to the Peter Pan legacy. I haven't read Peter Pan in Scarlet yet - has anyone else? Is it any good?

I REALLY love the Gormenghast Trilogy. Anyone else agree with me?
