Tribute to 9/11
I may not know all the fancy details but I'd still like to say something.

On September 11th of 2001 the twin towers were struck down by a pair of air planes hijacked by members of al-Qeada. Both buildings fell to the ground in about 2 hours. Everyone on those two planes died, leaving their families and friends behind. Firefighters and other volunteers died trying to save and escort as many people as possible out of the toppling towers. Two more planes were hijacked as well; one heading for the Pentagon. It hit. The other crashed into a field after the passengers, who knew they were going to die anyway, fought back. Everyone on those flights died or are missing and presumed dead.

Known facts:

There were 19 hijackers
2,974 people died
24 people are missing

A memorial now stands in the spot where the Pentagon was damaged.



Today we had a moment of silence in our school. My first block is ussually obnoxious and talk during the pledge and the announcements... NO ONE spoke during that moment. I'm glad that we still have at least some respect for what our country has become.
