   Pancake week
Today is the first day of Pancake week. In this week all the people in Russia eat pancakes. It`s an old pagan holiday. People thought, that in this week winter leaves their land and spring comes there. In the end of Pancake week we burn a scarecrow - "Winter". The Sunday of the Pancake week - Forgiven Sunday. It`s a day when all the people are sorry about their relatives and friends.
