Current Music: After Forever - Monolith of Doubt
Current Mood: Exhausted

Well, I got back from my vacation about a week ago, so, sorry about your luck dream_wings, I was already back by the time you commented. Not all that much new. I put about 2400 miles on my car on the trip. I made a wrong turn and came back the way I was trying to avoid...... took the Dan Ryan Expressway through Chicago ... I was planning to take the long way (I-80). I wasted a fair bit of money. I like wasting money. You like it when I waste my money too. Trust me, I'm good at this. So, what did I waste it on? The usual. Anime. Music. Movies. Oh, and I got a neat little umm, thingy, too. I'll post a picture of it at the bottom of the post or something.

The stuff, in no particular order:

Movies:
  • The Matrix 1+2
  • Species 3
  • MIB 2
  • all of the batman movies
Anime:
  • Gunslinger Girl (complete)(well, still waiting for it to show)
  • Elfen Lied (complete)
  • Sakura Wars (complete)
  • The Inuyasha Movies
  • Rurouni Kenshin OVAs + Movie
  • Tenchi Universe (complete), tenchi movie 3 (both backordered)
Music
  • After Forever - Decipher
  • Lacuna Coil - In a Reverie
  • Lacuna Coil - Unleashed Memories
  • Sirenia - of sixes and sevens
  • Sirenia - 9 Destinies & A Downfall
  • Within Temptation - Enter
  • Within Temptation - The Dance
  • Within Temptation - Mother Earth
  • Within Temptation - The Heart of Everything
  • Star One - Space Metal
  • Symphony X - The Divine Wings of Trajedy

Vacation: p2

Well, so far so good. Things are pretty uneventful here. I'm spending most of my time gaming. Went bowling earlier too. It'll be a while before I'm back around, but hey, I like my vacations :)

Heero_Yuy: No, seems like the cops are. They were EVERYWHERE on my way up. Especially the turnpike .... oh, and that one town was loaded with cops too.

Phoenix_Clawth: Welllll, I'm not dead :P

Naota: Good to hear from you, anywho, I have downed A LOT of gatorade lately. Gallons. Yes. Gallons.

The Vacation

Current Mood: Wired/whacky combo
Current Music: Lacuna Coil - Swamped

Well, not TOO much went on today, but I feel like saying something ... Lets start from the very beginning shall we?

I forget this morning mostly. The only part I remember really well was the coffee. Oh man, the coffee. I made it strong, way strong. I drank it black, way black. I only had about 4 cups (with ~ 1.5tbsp sugar each), but damn, like, WIRED on steroids or some shit. I'm talking way, way past wired here. I have somewhat of a resistance to caffeine (gradually built up from constant abuse), and for something caffeinated to hit me that hard ... Unnatural. But it was good. So I was happy, for an hour or two, then the stomach issues and inability to sleep hit .... and haven't gone away since. Oh well, enough about that grand brew =P

Afterwards, I think I started going through one of my books. I didn't think it was going to be THAT out of date, but oh well, it only cost me $4, so I guess I'm not bothered too bad. Then I went into town, stocking up on supplies for the trip. That's right, the trip. I gathered as much Gatorade as my arms could carry, and added in some chips, jerky, and cereal bars for good measure. Oh, and I got pants too. That's right, pants. Blue ones. Hah.

Lets see, stage 3, oh this is the part where I was bored, might have watched a little FMP, sent a few IMs, and generally blahed out. I think I took a nap too. Oh well.

Stage 4: final preparations. It's that time. I've gotta pack for I'm leaving tomorrow, early. Early because it's a 12 hour drive. I also need to print my maps/directions/phone#s and such. Clothes will be easy. I don't know what else I feel like bringing .... the motherload of CDs probably. I'm still thinking about taking my computer tower along, but ... I don't know, too much money to be carrying with me I guess. Maybe I'll take some anime to occupy me while my friend is at work, seeing as the point in general is to visit. I'll try to drop by on occasion throughout the week. Yes, the week. Talk to you soon.

Comments on comments:
ML: Hmm, I don't know you o.O You're right though, FMP is positively wonderful.
Phoenix_Clawth: I'll take your word for it.
beyblader: dust-man now is it? :P Anywho, how've ya been?
Heero_Yuy: FMPs technical detail is wonderful. The animation on it's great too. Have you seen any of "The Second Raid" yet? First ep blew my mind I tell ya.

Over and out.

Funny, revisited

Okay, so my Full Metal Panic Thinpak Box Set arrived today, a full two days early :) I've already kicked in to (re)watching it. I'd forgotten how insanely funny it was. I got the two books I'd ordered too. A KDE app development book I picked up for $4, and a book called "Agile Web Development With Rails". I'd figured it's about time I figured these two things out. Oh, and I broke my previous Metroid Prime finish time record that I mentioned a post or two ago - 3 hours, 56 minutes this time. I own. Now lets finish off this post on a good note, such as this lovely "coincidence":

What a lovely coincidence - Sagara holding Chidori's underwear, oh my!

Wakey Wakey!!

Old

Current Mood: thoughtful
Current Music: Within Temptation - Dangerous Mind

Well well, I feel old now. Another weekend of work has passed, and I also turned 21 on Saturday. No, I didn't drink, and have no plans to do so later either. On another note about that I feel old now. Despite that, very little has happened in the past 48 hours or so. Alrighty, so off to mindless rambling (You've been warned, it could make you mindless like me :O)

Topic #1: Caffeine
I've found a new source of caffeine. It's called bawls. It kicks ass. End of story.

Topic #2: Metroid Prime (revisited, for the 30th time or so)
Great game. I liked it so much that I replace the copy my brother lost with a new copy, even after already having beaten it 10+ times. Now that's what I call good replay value! I broke my speed record for play in Normal Mode - 4 hours, 21 minutes, and some odd seconds. Beat that now will you :P

Topic #3: Anime
As previously mentioned, yes, I've gotten a lot more of it lately, I might as well mention the more recent additions to the now legitimate collection of mine. I've been rewatching Outlaw Star (again) (of course). Next on the list for watching are NGE, Escaflowne, Texhnolyze, and others. Most of the stuff in the list mentioned in my aforementioned list is relatively new (to me) ((has been purchased in the last 6 months or so)) (((now that's rapid growth :))))

topic #4: Vacation?
I've decided I'd take off work 3 out of the next six weeks. Even though I already only work 2 days a week. I plan on doing some out of state vacationing and the such. I'm going to Indiana for a week or so, the same for Wisconsin, and the same for Pennsylvania. Hard telling how much I'll be around when I'm gone, but I'm going to try, I swear. Hell, I even stayed up to midnight so I could post a post when people might actually read it (old/ancient habit, but it seems to work ...... only other method worthwhile is to bump myself later .... but I suppose that isn't as good a method now is it? Besides, I like staying up the late hours of the night.

topic #5: Random links of the day
ThinkGeek - Good gear
Penny Arcade - Go. Read. Now.

Okay, I think that's enough for now. Over and out folks.

I'm still in the realm of the living

You hear that, I'm not dead :O (yet) My life has progressed very little in the last year or so, but on the bright side, I've been wasting money ... on what else but anime? bwahahaha - Click Here to view a recent listing :) Note: I've had some really smooth deals with Amazon and TRSI :D

Apart from that my life is pretty bland. Work and sleep, work and sleep, lazyness, then back to the work and sleep. I guess I can't complain too much though. Guess I'll be back around again this time, I think. I would think, what a terrible thing of me to do.

I know it has been a while since I've posted, but I've been keeping busy. I really thought I should mention this smooth deal going on over at rightstuf.com. It's a blowout sale on Select Geneon anime titles. 25 DVDS for $100 or 10 DVDS for $50 - adds up to around 85% off retail!! If you've got some cash to spare and have been holding back on getting anything included in this list, it should be worth your while to check this out! Oops, there went $200 :D

Kubuntu Linux

Current Music: Evanescence - Eternal
Current Mood: Inspired
Current Time: 4:42PM

Edit:Oh, and I forgot something that I consider important when I posted this last night. Tomorrow will bring about the next release of my favourite linux distribution, Kubuntu. If you're interested (and I hope you are), you can get them to ship CDs to you for free. You can get that from http://shipit.kubuntu.org. If you've never tried Linux before I suggest you try it out. What they'll send you is a live CD, which you can run without actually installing anything, and you can install later if so inclined. Ah well, tootaloo, and be sure to check out yesterday's post, which this is nothing more than an extension thereof.

Keeping busy

Current Music: Kamelot - III ways to Epica
Current Mood: inspired
Current Time: 10:26pm

Well, I've been keeping busy lately, so I really haven't been around much. Most people complain that they're bored when they have this much spare time, well not me, I take every last ounce of it and use it for what it's worth. Whether it's me slacking off, doing things with my computer, reading, watching things. It doesn't really matter, I always have something to do :)

I've got a bunch of books to read yet. Shame on me for not finishing any of them ... except that one C++ book I was reading a while back. I should get around to finishing Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas before I do anything else eh?

On other notes, I've got my front panel headphone, microphone, and USB2 ports working again(because this time around I bothered plugging them in... damn I'm lazy). Most of my spare time has been dumped into four things. I did some computer upgrades (see below), computer tweaking, a couple of forums, and slacking off. As per the computer tweaking, I'm sure most of you wouldn't be interested, but I've spent a lot of time messing around in Linux. It's possible to get some really nice effects. See here for more details < xgl wiki, looking glass wiki > Among other things, I've also put in a 1GB memory stick in my camera... enough for tons of stuff, maybe I'll use it more now? Maybe. Oh, and I got an air conditioner in my room now, and a replacement door. (It needs trimmed/sanded/painted/door-knobbified/put-up still though.)

I've gone and done it again. Yes, more computer upgrades. Sugary goodness at that. I did the following:

  • Put in a second 250GB Seagate SATA HDD
  • Changed out my NVidia 6600GT VGA for a NVidia 7600GT
  • Took off my motherboards chipset fan and put on a good heatsink in its place.
  • I also took off the CPU fan and put it on pointing the right direction (shame on me for putting it on backwards to begin with!)

Overall, the results of that are that I now have 500GB HDD space, and that my CPU and motherboard run about 4C cooler than before, the VGA runs about 10C cooler, and I get really nice framerates thanks to a really nice VGA.

Such a disorganized post, shame on me. Oh well, I'll post later, I promise.

   Introspection

Current Music: Cradle of Filth - Saffron's Curse
Current Mood: thoughtful
Current Time: 3:53am

Well, as of Thursday, classes are finally over for me. I'm not really sure where I'm going from here yet. I have options, but not a lot of time with which to weigh them out. I either need to get a full time job so I can afford insurance, or to re-enroll and go for a bachelors degree in CS. Either way, I don't have a lot of time to decide because I could easily be dropped off my parent insurance... In terms of re-enrolling, I'm looking at UVA, it's a possibility, but I don't know yet. I'm also going to put my resume into a few places to see if I can find myself a nice full time programming job. Another thing I'm looking at is the military, depending on what they have to offer with regards to computers I could be interested. Plenty of options, and yet, the option I really want right now is some time to sit down, think, and get some personal things straightened out, but I certainly won't be given this.

I've been wasting away my time the past couple days. I've eaten far too much junk as well. Massive amounts of tea, mountain dew, hot fries, and chocolate, aren't I treating myself rich eh? Oh well. I've also been doing a lot of reading, and trying to get things straight everywhere, without a great deal of success. Oh well, progress will come.

In other news, I've also re-themed my computerishness for the millionth time, here are screenshots. Screenshot 1 Screenshot 2
At request of Zed, I've even photographed myself, proving still further that I suck. Oh well.

Well, that's all I have for tonight.... maybe I'll post again later to make this title relevant, I'm sure I had something I wanted to say, looks like I forgot it. Heck, maybe someone will even read this post, amazing how these things happen huh? Well later, and good night/morning.(post ended - 4:10am)
