Busy as a Bee, or as Lazy as a Sloth?

Busy as a Bee or Lazy as a Sloth?

Current Mood - Disgruntled
Current Music - The Offspring - Total Immortal(covering AFI)

I've gotten a bit done lately, but at the usual expense of my also spending an equal amount of time doing nothing, as the title might imply. Saturday's project was re-tweaking windows. I've actually got Windows working rather productively - I know, Windows and working in the same sentence, sounds farfetched but it's actually true. I've also been working on getting some things installed on Linux with limitted success, but hey, everybody has to learn these things sometime >.> Maybe I should get a book or something. Besides all of that I've been playing Bloody Roar 4, fighting with my brother, listening to music, and acting like a sloth. Oh, did I mention I've begun working on the transfer and redesign of those two sites? Well I am, and it will probably take a while too. Oh well, I'd best go get my 2 and a half hours of sleep before I drag my lethargic ass out of bed and off to school ... Goo'night.

A couple worthy screenshots I've taken lately - one is of the pretty SuSE linux KDE desktop, and the other of the kickass girl Lain.

And then, there was a return of this random idiot

And then, there was a return of this random idiot

Current Music: Rammstein - Sonne
Current Mood: Stressed, Withdrawn

Well it looks like things are slowly peicing their way back together. I now have 6 partitions - 2 ntfs(windows) partitions, 3 linux native, and 1 linux swap partition. I have it set up for dual boot .... which was cake in Suse, so I get to pick which operating system I want to boot with when I reset or turn the computer on, which is pretty nice. I have a bit more configuration to do before I can say I'm anywhere near done though. It looks like I'm going to have to go get gcc and compile the driver I need for my modem ... this should be an interesting new experience. So far Suse has me pretty well impressed, and with games like Frozen Bubble included how could I not be? I'm currently using Windows (which is running much nicer/faster since the reformat), because I don't have my modem working in linux yet. I'm surprised at how fast I got things pieced back together. My only major regret is that I forgot to back up one folder before I deleted it all, my pictures folder ... It's a sad day now, but I've already started grabbing at some of the important things, namely the Lain and Kenshin wallpapers and avatars. Ah well, that's enough talking for now, especially seeing as there is a 95% chance that nobody who reads this will understand a word I say, in the even that anyone actually reads it. Good night.

reformatting

I will be gone a bit longer than expected. A new hindrance to my being around again has come up. I'm currently backing up everything I'll need ... Music, videos, text files, archives of sorts, fonts, installers, and various program and registry settings that I'll be needing after I reformat my hard drive. I figured I'd best get around to doing all this before microsoft takes down the updates to xp sp1(Because I'll be damned if I use sp2. It's full of inconveniences, flaws, and security holes(go figure). In fact there's a new one in ie, read about it by clicking here.) A second goal is to install Suse, and I'll go on from there I suppose. I'm expecting this to take days so I probably won't be around much for a while.

Co-Evil - Revisited

Co-Evil - Revisited

Current Mood - Apathetic as ever
Current Music - Iron Maiden - Hallowed be thy Name

I'm sorry I haven't been around much the past few days, but it looks like this may last a ways longer. I'm going to make myself busy for a change, busy by reviving co-evil. First off I should probalby go through and finish it, secondly it's getting a new layout, and mayhap even a couple crappy banners(seeing as that's probably all I'm capable of, I'm no artist). Oh well, I'll be back around soon, and I'll probably even keep anybody informed who wants to know, even though I'm sure nobody cares. I'll most likely do it for the sake of something to say and waste my time checking ^^; Curses...such an incoherent post... I really need to rethink these posts so they flow a bit better. Good night.

Current Music: The Moldy Peaches - Lucky #9
Current Mood - Miserablish

Well, today hasn't been my day. This just hasn't been my week I suppose. Oh well. I haven't been around due to the starting of a windwaker file Saturday afternoon. I currently have the master sword and I'm en route to the forsaken fortress, with a detour at the old guys house. Nothing much else to say really because I've been sleepy, bored, dazed, and miserable and haven't given much thought to giving thought. Have a nice day/night/morning/lifetime... ja. (Warning not to say anything that MIGHT aggrivate me today ... on second thought, you should ... A new doormat couldn't hurt)

Current Mood: Frustrated
Current Music: Pretty Girls Make Graves - Chemical Chemical

Well, I've done it, yup, that. I've updated my theme, and it's about 75% there. I'll be changing a few other things later. I've knocked the file size back to 125kb as well by taking out some things that I didn't feel like keeping around. I've also decided to give microsft internet explorer the finger. I'm sick of it's crappy lack of support for things that any other decent browser support, currently referring to lack of alpha channel support for png, but I could point out quite a few more things if I felt like it. If the script I through in isn't working and you see white around the posts, too bad, I'm not caring. Death to MSIE!!

If it doesn't look like what you see above, and you aren't liking it, then scroll up to my intro and click on the firefox banner, immediately :P
Firefox 1.0 Release: 16 million downloads and counting.

On a side note, I pulled off my links, because I'm going to be redoing a lot of things with them .... Oh, and if you're bored, you could always read yesterdays post :P

   Stuff!

Stuff!

Current Music: Underworld - Born Slippy
Current Mood: Mindless

LIke omi! I'm posting again aren't I? Well I'm posting, but I haven't been very good about visiting lately .. well, you knew that already, it's because of a number of things. I will finally admit to extreme lazyness being a primary cuase. Other causes include anime addictions, game addictions, my being a miserable boring waste of a human being, and my sudden surge of interest in academics.

I've now beaten LOTR3 ... go figure right? Took me a whole two days, wait, not even. I hate shortness ... I usually prefer rpgs ... my favorites being Breath of Fire 3, Chrono Trigger, and Final Fantasy 7-9... but the fact of the matter is they're usually too easy for me. I need to pick up a few good tactical games one of these days to find me something interesting, yet I lack money don't I? Yup I do.

In terms of anime addictions I'm simply meaning that I've had a major uprise in my watching lately. I've gone from sparse to two hours a day again. Current watches are Ninin ga Shinobuden, Samurai Champloo, Scrapped Princess, Elfen Lied, One Piece, and Hellsing. It's keeping me quite entertained though it's causing me to post/visit less. I've finally got my priorities straight again though, anime is like air, and I've been suffocating >.>

In terms of school classes seem to have finally gotten a bit interesting this term. Curnent classes are Java and Javascript(aka advanced web 1). Javascript has me almost bored to death due to the teachers carefully fine-tuned efforts to patronize us as much as possible. She doesn't even expect anyone learned anything in previous prerequisite classes, which just ticks me off. Java on the other hand seems very, very nice. Randy is a real "cut the bullshit" type teacher. He asked around to figure out what we already knew, to specifically avoid treating us stupid, to better use class time, and to help him set the pace of the class. He also makes attempts at humor and is not at all full of himself. This is basically my ideal type of teacher. We need more of these - many, many more. I even learned things on the first day of the class, which seems to go against tradition for classes. Whoo and yay for good teachers! Anywho, that will be enough talk of school for I fear I may bore you to sleep.

I've been sleeping a lot lately, nothing better to do. I've also been slowly cutting back on human interaction and beginning the long path towards cutting the unneccessary and/or stupid people out of my life. I've also somewhat resolved the bad taste of music on the ride to school issue through the use of headphones and very loud music. I've still got my old player though I need to get a piece of foil to stuff in because the battery springs are too loose. I also need to find my toolkit so I can tighten some things so it won't skip so much due to the disk and cover not being held in place as well. I haven't really got much else to say, so I shall go teach myself things until I fall asleep now.
Personal notes/to do list

  • Get off my lazy ass and teach myself PHP
  • Stay off my lazy ass afterwards long enough to get myself a J-O-B
  • Force my parents to take me into the DMV
  • Get a few books and teach myself some things ... a calculus book, physics book, and german book sounds like an entertaining idea for some reason.... all I need is the money I suppose.
  • Learn XML before I cause myself severe physical trauma as punishment for not having done so sooner.

bleh

I'm sorry I haven't been around lately, but I've been a tad busy. Between video game addictions and high amounts of stress I haven't been around. I'm not sure when I'll be active again but it'll probably be within the next few weeks ... It turns out after all of this trial and error that the new cd player is indeed defective and I will have to return it. I've been playing LOTR3 and DBZ Budoukai 3 on the ps2. Ah, the sweet savory addictions, unfortunately I'll be finished with both and looking for something else to play within a week due to the fact I've nearly finished them both. Too bedamned easy I say! I need something that actually challenges me, and that has enough length to keep me busy for a while. These games clearly lack that *sighs* Oh well, I won't be fixing that problem any time soon, back to anime watching and s uch I suppose, and maybe I'll sleep tonight, then again, I don't think I feel like sleeping. I'll just stay up all night again, for the third night in a row.

Holiday Season

Current Music: Breaking Point - Phoenix
Current Mood: Out of my Mind, will Return upon resurfacing of sanity.

I apologize, but I've been really busy due to the holiday season, which is honestly the opposite of what I want in a "vacation", but oh well. I would much rather spend it as two weeks of doing absolutely nothing. I played a bit of video games here and there, namely Final Fantasy Tactics(for PS, not GBA). I also watched a few movies here and there, seeing as I got Return of the King I've been rewatching the other LOTR movies. I have nothing better to do right? I also managed to get a defective chair that we'll be taking back to Staples, and clothes that I won't wear. A pair of headphones when I have no batteries isn't incredibly useful either. I think the best thing I got was something useful, a tin full of popcorn, oh how I love popcorn :P In fact, I even asked for it. Nothing wrong with a fifth m&m dispenser either, one a year, where would I be without getting one of these?

I've also somewhere in here, decided to put my nose to the grindstone and teach myself some stuff. Among these things is to go a bit more in depth in the way of Java. Forcing a little bit of XML, PHP, and MySQL should also be on my agenda. I've also dug in a little bit deeper in the way of video encoding and have now taught myself how to rip dvds, through about two days of trial and error >.> I'm knocking them down to a nice even, 702mb a piece, so it probably won't kill my hard drive ... Much better than 6gig worth of VOB files anyway. It looks like I'm again using Ogg vorbis audio, xvid video, and oggmuxing them. I can't help it, works so good while staying so simple ^^; Oh well, I'll quit boring you now, go about your day. I'll be back by the end of break I think, I'll be in Pennsylvania until then, ja. ~onewingedangel

Short Post

Short Post

Current Music: Evil Superstars - Laserback
Current Mood: Out of my Mind, will Return upon resurfacing of sanity.

Today was a pretty dull day. Nothing to report. Ain't it great? I've been having some problems with my java plugin and ahve spent the last 4 hours trying to resolve it and am now prepared to do desperate things, like uninstallations and reinstallations of various things, as well as more downlaoding. Yay -_- Oh well, Bah Humbug....erm, I mean

If you have Java installed you should see a message saying happy holidays.
