Well, yep I do watch macross that is in the robotech series. I always liked the Roy Fokker guy the leader of Skull Squadron, pity he died though... Escaflowne, the Giant robot that can transform into a dragon, I know about that mecha but the series are not aired here in Malaysia. I grow up with robot series too and I started drawing because of them and consider them to be part of my life.
I like Macross but I like Gundams better.
