LEGALIZED ART THEFT!!!
I just read on theotaku.com that the US and UK governments are trying to pass a bill, called the Orphan Works Bill, that basically screws over artists. and i don't mean just people who draw, or paint. I'm talking about sculptors, musicians, songwriters, compu-generators, photography, EVERY CREATIVE OUTLET. This bill basically says that instead of the free copyright that we enjoy as soon as we create something and lay claim to it, we will have to register our artwork with at least 3 (so far) different places, pay for said registration, or risk loosing our artwork. By loosing our artwork, i mean that anyone, anywhere, can legally take our artwork, and use it WITHOUT OUR PERMISSION. This bill is still in Congress, but if gets passed, don't be surprised to one day see your artwork in someone else's magazine, webpage, or newspaper. You won't even get paid for the use of your artwork either. This is the link to a site that explains in in more detail. Type this into your search bar for more info. this is a freakin-crap mess, and we do need to do something, if even jsut get the word out. http://mag.awn.com/index.php?ltype=Columns&article_no=3605&page=1
