Doodly.
Comment Commentary
Shin- I actually figured out a better way to emulate that.. Visual style, that two-toned rendering of the amplifier. It's pretty freaking sweet.
Mimmi- Well, in the song the letter's telling him that his wife/girlfriend/whatever actually died, instead of just leaving him, but I'd prefer that theory.
Azure- :/
--
Today.. It's funny. Throughout the day there was a hundred things I wanted to write about on here, but as I sit down to actually write it I forget.
Due to the two days off of school we had this week (thanks, flooding), and that goddamn No Child Left Behind Act, we rushed through a ton of math that I personally wish we hadn't. We had a big test on this stuff today, and though I left three blank because I didn't have time to bullshit an answer, it seems as if I still filled out more than a lot of other people. If I checked everything right, and calculated it correctly, I got a low B.
Oh well. Lord knows I had much worse last year.
I've been working on that Stella Deus drawing for the past couple days, and I finally printed out a high resolution version of the drawing last night. There are lots of intricate details on this character's outfit, and a typical JPEG wasn't enough. I was just about done with the lines and began shading as my teacher told me that I should focus on doing my own stuff and not copy others'.
I'm not sure what it was about that statement that got me agitated. Maybe it was the way that he said it, or the fact that I had been pouring a ton of detail into this thing, or how I suck at character designs and one can only improve by mimicking, but something got me ticked. That, however, was brushed off, and I went back to shading in the breasts.
:)
Speaking of that drawing, I just have to clean up the lines and blend the shading a little more, and it'll be ready to scan. As I predicted, the eyes make her look nothing like the real version, which makes it a bust, but hopefully this title will remain low-key enough so that nobody will even know where the hell this person came from.

When I came home, there was a package from Amazon.com sitting on my porch. If you recall (or give two shits), I ordered the new White Stripes DVD and Excel Saga manga volume five some time last week, and to avoid paying any more, I did the free shipping. According to the site, free shipping tends to take eight to nine days, but I got it almost a week ahead of when I was supposed to. This made me happy.
I was aware that the manga had been shipped a day later, so the only thing that belonged to me in there (my brother used his "gift card" to buy goddamn Zoo Tycoon) was the DVD, but that was not at all a letdown.
The packaging is somewhat unconventional. It's not in the typical plastic Amaray case- it's a cardboard-ish box with some incredibly attractive art on it.
(Opening it was as easy as blinking, compared to the rest of the DVD nation. It only took me fifty seconds.)
Instead of the typical one-page insert on the left side, there was a pretty thick book with the set list in it, and, again, accompanied by some kickass art. Another thing I liked about the booklet: Each track had its history printed beneath it, with interesting little tidbits mixed in.
The concert itself was very good. Of course, I've never been to a live White Stripes performance, nor have I seen one on TV, so I didn't quite know what to expect. Those around me tend to think that they're only two people, so they can't be too interesting, but it was.. Quite entertaining. Jack was odd (and I do mean that- he was enthusiastic one minute and incredibly mellow the next), but Meg was a lot more energetic than I ever pictured her. Together, they created a unique, half-personal show.
I heard a lot of songs that I never have before (though a lot of their songs end up sounding like Dead Leaves And The Dirty Ground, heh), and that was nice.
I've heard people say that the band tends to "reinterpret" their songs in concert, and now I know exactly what that means. It's great to hear some of your favorite songs remixed (if you can call it that without destroying the very foundation and belief of this band), and it's even better when they're strung together seamlessly.
For those two reasons I could equate it to a minimalistic rock revival-style rave, but I'm not going to.
--
I was told to copy, like, fifteen CDs of music I don't particularly care for today by a friend. I'm doing it, in hopes that I'll find some songs that will reward me for my efforts, but so far it ain't happening.
One of the CDs was the "best of" Red Hot Chili Peppers album, which is decent, but other than that it's bands like The Hives and The Strokes and a bunch of indie bands you'll never, ever hear of.
Closing statement: The commentary on the Reno 911 DVD, though sparse, is incredibly enjoyable. The deleted scenes are hit-and-miss, but they also have the Samuel Jackson Beer commercial from Chappelle's Show, so it all balances out.
EDIT: Yep, that theme is gone already. Fear the red, fear the black. Fear the fact that I came that close to stealing Shin's color scheme.

Feeling better, but at the same time..
Comment Commentary
Shin- Elektra looks like it's going to suck, but I'm going to end up seeing it anyway.
You know why.
Mimmi- Yeah, they give us root beer float "parties" and stuff when you reach your set goal. Generally, they taste like crap, but it gets me out of seventh period (PE, woot).
The only reason I care about AR, though, is because of the big reward: A field trip to the beach at the end of the year.
Karmi- I remember competing with my best friend for the highest number of pages read (we didn't have AR yet) in second grade.. Man, we read so much. It was sort of sad.
Mal- B-But.. The NERV backlight..!
Azure- Yay for being non-descript!
--
I have absolutely nothing worthwhile to say today. I went to school, read 2001 whenever I had the chance, came home, plopped down on my bed, and slept until five, when I then did my mountain of math homework.
So guess what you get? Sennen Art.
WARNING: These are all either really old, really lame, or unfinished, so.. Yeah.
De Stijl: Death Letter. I came up with this idea as I was listening to one of my White Stripes CDs.. I talked about it a while ago, actually. I wanted to do one drawing for each song on that CD, because they all manipulate my emotions and make me feel certain ways. That leads to good drawings.
I was going to fix this one up in Photoshop and make the lines look cleaner, but I sort of gave up on that. The initial sketch, I think, is better, but I can't find it right now.
Amplifier. Gawk at its color scheme and love it. Last week I wanted to make an mO scheme based on this, but that crashed and BURNED. Horribly.
Born, from Half-Life 2. I know, I know, the fingers are short, compared to the rest of the hand. I swear I'll redo this someday.. This one's rather recent.
A more anime-related drawing. I remember showing a few people a script for this story a while back.. This drawing came about around that time. Considering how old it is, I'm pleased with this one. It's not as malformed as the rest of the doodles on that page.
Another sketch from the page above. This one looks more impressive on paper. Here, it just looks bad.
It's funny 'cause it's true.
"How do we react when we get picked up by those roof-clinging things in Half-Life, children?"
"Say 'God dammit, I just spent all this time getting to this area and now I have to restart from half an hour ago because those zombies brought me too close to death and I couldn't get out my crowbar in time. SHIT.'"
"That's right. Good kids."
I told you they all suck. You can blame Mimmi for pressuring me into doing this. ~_^

Super Generico Bros.
Comment Commentary
Shin- Slothism. The one true faith.
Ken- Unfaithful to your religion, eh? Burn him anyway.
Mimmi- Heh heh, thanks. I'd really appreciate it.
Kuraiangel- Huh, indeed.
Karmi- Haven't you had it for, like, two weeks? I remember you saying that the stick figures were cool.
Mal- ^_^

Boo, school. Due to our two days off, we're being majorly rushed in math, and our lessons are teaching nothing. This sucks because we have a chapter test on Friday.
When it comes to math homework, I am really, really unmotivated. I can do it easily enough, and if it's on a test I'll go through with it, but if there's twenty versions of the same problem and they all take ungodly amounts of time to figure out, I'm gonna guess and move on. Considering how she rarely ever checks the homework, it's barely a risk.
But enough about me. Let's hear more about you.
Heh. Right.
--
Maybe I'm just getting better at comprehending things, or maybe the books I'm reading have really easy AR tests, but I have had a shockingly good record with Accelerated Reader recently. I have a while to make up the rest of my goal, so I'm going to risk it and read a larger book.
I borrowed 2001: A Space Odyssey from the library, randomly. I'm hoping it's good, because if it's not, there's not a good chance of me remembering the characters' shoe sizes and favorite Pat Boone songs.
--
We had a substitute in art today, and she reminded me a lot of my elementary school days. Back at my old school, where I spent five years of my life, every person that worked there was constantly wary and suspicious of you, regardless of your previous record. It was really aggrivating how you were constantly treated as if you were the dredges of society on death row or something like that (to a lesser extent)..
And these are all the "good" kids. The children at that school, especially compared to my current place of learning, are happy and bright-eyed and would never hurt a fly. But none of the faculty cares at our school, which is fun sometimes.
Anyway, this teacher had one of those annoying, droning voices that are more common in history teachers than art, and she was, as I just said, very wary of all of us at the back table. We must have been the problem children who got separated from the good apples for the good of society or something.
We were supposed to draw hands. So I pulled out my rendition of this Half-Life 2 rebellion poster (which, when you compare, is really inaccurate), and went on with my interpretation of this incredibly oversized piece of character art from Stella Deus, and it's coming out nicely. I just know that if I try to color it it is going to become ruined.. So it shall remain in pencil. And maybe I'll ink it.
And the funny thing is, you'll probably never see either of the drawings I'm talking about, because I'm incredibly self-critical and refuse to scan imperfection!
--
I went over to a friend's house after school, and we played Paper Mario 2. I must say, the game is a lot more enjoyable than the original, but it's Mario, so there's no reason to compare. It's good, and that's what matters.
After that, we went up onto his roof and waved at random people who were driving by. Except for people who might have guns, naturally. Then we read Newsweek and Forbes. Then we dug a hole for no reason and filled it with dirt.
I was supposed to be somewhere else, but.. That didn't work out.
--
Lost made up for last week's disappointing episode tonight. More character development + more nonsense + logical reasoning behind the nonsense + lots of Alias commercials (Jennifer Garner, woot) = good episode. My only complaint is that there wasn't any real cliffhanger.
Of course, the good twist was in the middle this time, where nature contradicts itself, raising lots of questions that weren't considered before.
Again, I implore that you watch this show. If you don't, you're doing yourself a disservice. If that's a legitimate word.
Gah.. It's Wednesday, but it's supposed to be Monday, yet I want it to be Friday. Today was the first day that, since quite some time ago, I just felt like sinking into the earth and never emerging.
But I don't want to leave you on a morbid not like that. So here's a little Filler Bunny to leave you hip-hip-happeeee.
EDIT: Oh yeah, the Evangelion iPod. According to what I've read, they only made 2,000 of them, and, of course, they're exclusive to Japan. I'm glad that it's not a very flamboyant design- it follows Apple's oath of minimalism that they made to the iPod franchise.
I can just see Gainax making another revised edition of the series just so they can change Shinji's tape player to an iPod to promote it (even though he already has the earbuds). Too late for that, though.

Ch-Ch-Check it Out.
Comment Commentary
Shin- I have a very casual sense of religion. I pray before meals, and before bed.. That's about it. o_O
Alex- Did I mention the televangelist looked suspiciously like Bono?
Tony- Speaking of Atlus, what do you know about Stella Deus? A couple of the character designs are really interesting.
--
New theme, half-inspired by the aformentioned Stella Deus. I was browsing Atlus.com today, and saw that they were running a poll on which cover to use for their upcoming release of the game.
I liked all of them (except for the first one), and this sent me on a mini-quest to find the clean character art.
Thanks to the never-ending Godliness of RPGamer's image galleries, I found 5,000 pixel-tall versions of the two exact images I was looking for.
So I used one of them. And now, though you can't really tell, it is in my intro. There's a background to go with it, too, but I don't want it to repeat, and I don't know the coding for that, and there's also a song I want to go with is.
But alas, I like symmetry too much.
Nothing else to report. School's up again tomorrow. It didn't rain today.

Comment Commentary
Mimmi- Good idea.
Shin- Hence Nocturne's lack of publicity! Conspiracy!
Azure- Because not enough of them feature young boys.
DDG- Femininely random?
Shin- Instead of voting they write poetry. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm off to the box social.
--
We had today off because of all of the heavy rain and flooding going on around here. Quite honestly, I have seen nothing that pointed to floods, as much as average amounts of preciptiation, but I'm not complaining. Part of me wanted to avoid school today, and here we are.
I usually would have slept in, but I just wasn't tired. On Mondays I always feel more like waking up on time, because of all of the extra sleep I get over the weekend.
My God, I have forgotten how much daytime television blows. My routine is generally the KTLA morning news, followed by my dad watching some old movie on AMC. Sometimes I shake it up and watch music videos on VH1.
But then I remembered the joyous days of sixth grade, when we had to get to school at practically 9:00, and how I would watch the Japanese daytime kiddie daytime television, just because it's so outrageously odd.
Now, my understanding of Japanese culture isn't perfect, but if I interpreted it correctly, the big green penis-looking monster made of styrofoam was trying to teach kids not to light things on fire, and there was some dude with purple eyeshadow and a Waluigi-ish mustache that made funny noises. I think he was evil, but he might have just been an arsonist.
There's a difference, you know.
I swear that Digi Charat came on after that, and it was just so obscenely cute that I reached for my gun and tried to shoot myself in the head, but instead I accidentally picked up the remote and switched to MTV. Cribs, the show where celebrities show you their houses, was on.
And from this I had a revelation.
Ghetto, basketball-playing celebrities are more worried about fashion than valley girls.
I mean, you should have seen this dude's closet. He practically had an entire room dedicated to basketball jerseys alone, another for other clothes, and all along the ceiling there were shelves where he put his shoes.
It was insane. Not even Christina Aguilera has that much clothes.
..Well, that's a bad example. Let's go with Jessica Simpson. She's more wholesome and clothes-wearing.
Then I watched a televangelist on Comedy Central. CC, you see, is one of those channels that has infomercials running in the wee hours of the morning because they're too lazy to do real programming.
Well, today they had some televangelist from the south. Man, these guys are such bullshit. He's supposed to hit you on the forehead with the power of the Lord and you'll be free from all of your sins. He says it's the holy water (You get a free vial of it when you call in, omfg!1), but that can't just be regular water. It has to be some horrible, infectious substance that knocks people out at the touch. The televangelist guy just happens to have grown an immunity to it.
He was not a good speaker at all. It's hard to be motivated by someone who stutters every other word they say.
--
Not that I'm trying to say that this is a guy that should be followed, but I've always been sort of heretical when it came to organized religion that I was involved with. I remember back in my Christian preschool correcting kids because of their blind faith.
Don't get me wrong, I believe in some sort of omnipresent being, but some of the things these kids were saying was just stupid.
Me: Hey, I heard they discovered a new planet past Pluto.
Some kid: THAT'S STUPID!! IF THERE WAS ANOTHER PLANET PAST PLUTO IT WOULD HAVE ALWAYS BEEN THERE AND GOD WOULD HAVE TOLD US ABOUT IT!
(I saw that kid the other day, come to think of it.. I should've said something.)
Religion, to me, is all fine and dandy, but it's morons who use it in a very hypocritical way (i.e. KKK), or just follow it in such a blind, stupid, naive way (that kid), who get me pissed.
..Well, considering that kid was, like, five, maybe I should have given him more of a chance. But it was still stupid.
--
I got dragged to the mall for a haircut today. In all, we were waiting there for about an hour for a space to open up. This wasn't because the place was packed, though. There were two people, which is enough in these parts, but one of them majorly sucks, and the other one is always so heavily requested that it's hard to go there and get a decent job done.
So I wandered around, checking on our DDR to see if it's fixed yet, browsing through anime, manga and games, and eventually sitting down with people whom I am familiar with over a Spicy Chicken Burrito from Del Taco, to waste a little time.
These people are cool, but I never talk to them (spare one). One of them goes to my school, but he's not in my social kalpa, if you will, and the other goes to Highland, despite being shorter and squeakier-voiced than me.
And who'd have guessed that my arch-nemesis from Journalism would show up and invite herself over! I was saved by the proverbial bell as the time for my haircut had finally come, so I got out of there very quickly.
So as to avoid conflict.
With a jolly keen valley girl.
o_O
The haircut is okay.. It's still a little short for my preferences, but I'm very picky. It'll grow out quickly enough.
Oh, oh my God I just remembered that I saw Saikano volume three in Waldenbooks. It was wrapped in plastic, so I'm guessing it's rather steamy.. Hm, I guess I'll have to get my 17-year-old affiliates to pick it up for me.
What a devilish little imp I am.
I don't understand how they can wrap Saikano in plastic and keep Ai Yori Aoshi and Mahoromantic plain and in sight, not to mention import car magazines with Asian women sprawled across the machinery like ragdolls, at small children's eye levels. It's messed up.
I've sort of been wasting time ever since. Getting out of the house was a good chance to get my mind off of things that have been bothering me, and it left me a little more optimistic than I had been before.
--
Wow, compared to my recent updates, this is like a freaking gold mine. Go, me.
EDIT: Also, I don't have any school tomorrow either, even though it hasn't rained here in 10 hours. Go figure.

You wish you were this lame.
Comment Commentary
Azure- You act like I get myself. ~_^
Stacie- Feh! Feh, I say!
--
There are only two things to say right now.
ONE!
Notice the new plug in my intro. Click on it, for it is to Tony's Digital Devil Database.
TWO!
I fell in love with Nocturne all over again today. Though Sakahagi's elephant homeboy is really weird.
In fact, this entire game is really weird.
I mean, just look at it.
But whoever said that that was a bad thing?
..Looking at what I have just typed, I realize that those two statements could easily be clumped together. So I guess I'll just say something else:
I feel like writing poetry. Of course, I feel like doing a lot of things right now that I know I never will.

Maybe I'll put my love on ice.
Comment Commentary
Shin- I've been duped, bamboozled, and swindled. :/
--
Yesterday was a day that was dedicated to wasting gift cards from the holidays that have those nasty "use-before-this-date-or-else" fees before I forget about them.
My aunt and uncle sent me $25 for Amazon.com, and I quickly found what I would buy with it: The new White Stripes DVD for $15 and Excel Saga manga volume five. My brother spent his on Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Collection, which I personally find to be a humongous waste, but that's not any of my concern.
Combined (the gift cards were grouped into one larger one), the total came out to $49.96, and so we wouldn't have to spend any extra money, I opted for the free shipping. It'll take longer to get here, but I can wait.
The White Stripes DVD, "Under Blackpool Lights," is a live recording of one of their concerts (in Blackpool! GASP), all filmed with 8mm tapes. Sometimes I wonder know how these people do it. They could make a music video with nothing going on visually except for a dog licking itself and fans would still eat it up. That stripped-down feel is their style and their trademark, though, and for that reason they can make a ton of profit.
Cheap video cameras + $15 DVD + Well-known band = holy shit those people must be rich.
Heh heh.
I went into Best Buy hoping to find a reservation box for Guild Wars. Last time I was in that store there was practically a pile the size of Mount St. Helens there, but they were nowhere to be found this time. Instead, after much deliberation (translation: They didn't have Voices of a Distant Star), I settled for the first season of Reno 911. That show is probably my favorite in all of the Comedy Central kingdom, and I'm looking forward to the commentary. I've heard that in one of them the cast tries to recreate the entire episode from memory as it goes along, and that it's a hoot.
--
Weekend's almost over, and I did nothing constructive. Instead I sat around, listening to music, thinking, stopping only for food and bathroom breaks. It's times like these where pseudo-meditating over a single thought can really help you, no matter what it is.
Remembering, recreating, regretting.

It's just one of those.. Lives.
Comment Commentary
Shin- Three hips and one hooray, because I don't know how to count!
Alex- Wtf, indeed.. I don't even remember that now.
Mimmi- Arson?
--
My brother's been a little Sims nazi recently, leaving me little time to update. Fortunately, this leads to a backup of stuff to talk about, so hopefully this update will be more worthwhile.
--
Man, Hometown Buffet can really bring in the crazies. I went there the other day (against my will- I hate that place), and it was like a freaking circus came into town.
There was an old.. Soulful black man there, and he was practically ripped right out of Chappelle's Show. He was old, with that raspy voice, eating fried chicken, and talking to himself. Every other word was "muthafucka", and I would have laughed, but I was afraid of getting hit with a cane or something.
I fell asleep in the car, and awoke to the pleasant sound of the newly dubbed "Mumbly Joe" walking by the car talking about how bad the chicken was.
There was also a group of guys wearing berets and flannel Mickey Mouse pajama bottoms, four generations of who all seemed to have once been, or will one day be, teenage mothers, an old lady with messed up, frizzy hair wearing five jackets and bike shorts, and a bunch of people who worked there and didn't speak English.
"Yeah.. Uh.. Beefed Roast or ham?"
Isn't that nice?
--
Thanks to being stupid in the ways of iTunes, I came across a very pleasant treasure that I am glad I found.
I did not know that the Pixies had released an all-new track recently, and I was even farther from knowing that it would be released exclusively on iTunes. It's called Bam Thwok. Kim Deal wrote it (we all know what that means), and she also provides the lead vocals, and it rocks.
*laughs at Shin for being unable to download it*

It snowed here yesterday.
It snowed.
HERE.
In California.
Not Pittsburgh.
Gah. What a wasted trip that was.
I convinced someone to read 1984 yesterday, as we were hiding from the outside wetness in the library. The cover is nowhere near as cool as mine, sadly, but the content is the same.
I only need fifteen or so more AR points, so I think I'm just going to skim through a few of the older installments in "A Series of Unfortunate Events." The movie, while it re-sparked my interest in those books, does not nearly do the books justice, but I can't do a decent comparison because it's been so long since I read them. In fact, when I read the third one, there was an error in the printing and the same ten pages repeated for the rest of the book near the end. I never really found out what happened..
Not that there's an AR test on that one yet, for whatever reason. They're sort of spread out. The fourth, the seventh, and maybe the sixth.. That's enough to get me past my goal, though.
I only do this for the field trip at the end of the year. Sue me.

My dad decided to learn how to play Medal of Honor the other day. When we first got the Playstation 2, we bought Medal of Honor: Frontline for ten bucks, and while I found it to be sorely subpar, the thought of playing a WW2-based FPS was tantalizing enough for my dad to bring up the game recently.
He totally sucked, but I don't blame him. The controls in that game are shit, along with most of it.
From the second he said he wanted to play it, I was warning him to do something on PC first, because it's just so much easier. He refused to believe that, and after spending hours and hours trying to make it through the first level, he spontaneously went out and bought the Medal of Honor: Allied Assault War Chest.
I personally have no interest in playing it. I told him that people tend to prefer Call Of Duty, but he seems to get the two franchises mixed up. He spent a long time playing it last night, and he was still cappin' Nazis by the time I fell asleep, thinking.
Thinking about what, you ask?
You'll never know.

Basketball is finally over in Phys Ed. My team, despite totally owning most of the competition, didn't make it to the semifinals, and for that I am thankful. The finals and semifinals always take place in front of the rest of the classes that period, and that, for me, is very bad.
Very bad.
But when it's the finals and you're not on one of the teams, you just sit in the bleachers and do whatever you feel like doing, which, for me is good.
Very good.
--
Lastly, what the hell is this? Are they trying to imitate the iPod's click wheel with that line thing going down the middle? It looks stupid.
Though there are lots of pretty colors.
Heh heh. Apple converted me. If Steve Jobs says that 2 + 2 = 5, then it must be so.
*cough* I'm done now.
EDIT:
Ha ha. Ha ha ha. My favorite noob post ever.

Counter-Shinnerists win.
Comment Commentary
Mimmi- Actually, I'm not a big chocolate fan. Mostly Hershey's, heh. I must have been really hungry when I said that.
Alea- Just a comic. Look back a page or two.
Azure- And why is it that I never have the inspiration to.. Come up with a good comeback? Meh.
Shin- I've been found out! I must ready the cyanide.
--
It's nice to have friends over, but when they're over for five hours at a time I find myself agitated at the sight of them the next day. I don't know what it is- maybe it's just the one particular friend that I have over here a lot- but I get weary of it after a while. I never, ever want to spend the night at someone else's place or have someone spend the night here.
Though I don't know what my point in saying this is.
--
I swear, English can be such bullshit sometimes. All of the little exceptions to the rules, and lame, lame technicalities.. It's funny. Today the very basis of grammar, the one rule that I have taken pride in having mastered for years, was knocked over and replaced by some bullshit in my textbook that not even the teacher got.
It's freaking doublethink.
Our math teacher's back now. She lives up in the mountains, and got snowed in for a couple of days, keeping her from getting down here. During this period we had this crazy substitute who always wore Africa-clothes and knew nothing about math. She said that she was taught how to teach in a different way and that switching methods would throw us off.
So we had to learn a whole bunch of crap on our own, which didn't make any sense, and I commend Karmi for visually examplifying my sentiments.
I didn't do anything in Phys Ed today, and I won't have to do anything tomorrow. It's the Basketball finals, and I'm not in one of the winning teams. My friend is in the finals, but he really doesn't want to do that, and he's planning on hiding out in the bleachers.
Meh. I'm glad I'm not him.
We played Half-Life 2 Deathmatch for a while, then Counter-Strike: Source. He wanted to play the Ravenholm level in Single Player, too, and he gets annoying when he's scared in games. His screams are like the primal screeches of the African Howler Monkey, echoing through the desolate wastelands of my cluttered and hazardous computer/game room.
Then we ate macaroni and cheese, another fine food.
I can't stand my brother's voice right now. His cough is accompanied by a scratchy throat, and he sounds like some waitress named Midge at Denny's. I'll leave you to ponder over that for a while.

Shin- That's so un-Seinfeld.
James- There's certainly nothing else like it in the world.. Well, except for Pepsi and Royal Crown.
Shinji- No, there's still Communists.
..Actually, I think Disco Stalin fits that criteria.
Mimmi- Looking at your avatar, I'm getting hungry for chocolate, so we're even.

I'm not feeling nearly as creative or energetic as yesterday, nor do I have the desire to do a good update. My art teacher's finally giving us (the rockin' group of six people who have our very own table and are generally allowed to draw whatever we want) grading on assignments. Before today everybody was just goofing off, and while they were still doing the same today after he told us we had deadlines, I think things will get more productive back there.
I began a crappy little Metal Gear strip in art, basically poking fun at Snake Eater's camo index and silly AI. Don't expect to see it, because it sucks (though Snake was drawn with clean lines).
I've felt like drawing some of the posters you see in Half-Life 2, because they are just that cool. My particular favorite, "Born," is so simple and so deep that I've been doodling it all day. I made an actual attempt at replicating it just now, and the hand in the picture (it's basically a hand with the Lambda symbol on it, but it's cooler than just that) isn't half bad, but it's not half good either. Hooray for large thumbs.

We're beginning the whole Constitution dealie in History this week. There are forty-seven pages of notes we have to copy down from the overhead projector on that goddamn article, which is going to take quite some time. I doubt we'll be doing much else until it's over with. Still, it's better than busywork and reading about obscure gamblers in funny pants and their wagers over petty stuff in 1789. It gives me time to zone out, and to think, and that's good.
..Nothing else worth saying. Oh well.
EDIT: Oh, here's something. We have World War II research essays due in mid-February, and they can be on anything that is involved with the war. I think I'm going to do something comparing and contrasting American and Nazi propaganda, but my teacher says that's an incredibly broad topic. I'll tinker around with it.. Should be interesting.
