DeviantArt Registration: The Odyssey

Comment Commentary

Tony- Yeah, $8 is way too much for any poster. Actually, it got up to twelve, didn't it? Outrageous, I say.

James- Such a highbrow concept, isn't it? :P

Shin- I want to go to the California Museum of Modern Arts, or whatever it is. My friend went there and she loved it.

Alea- Uh. Tolerable.. Things.

No, for the most part it's a holocaust museum, but they talk about racism and "hate speech" in general.

Ken- Yeah. It was in a very Californian-looking area, too.

Stupid DeviantArt. A new friend of mine gave me her account name, and after looking at her pictures, I felt inspired to make my own account.

So I go to the registry page..

"We are sorry, but you are attempting to create an account from a network or Internet Service Provider (ISP) that is shared by an abusive individual. This individual's repeated actions have forced us to ban your shared ISP, causing you this inconvenience.

This type of ban is reserved for only the most extreme cases of abuse and prevents anyone using your particular ISP from creating a new deviantART account.

This may be either a temporary or permanent measure depending on the nature of the abuse. Due to the manner in which your service provider handles its users we are unable to narrow the ban any further and cannot specifically exclude you.

This does not imply that you have personally caused this action, but rather it may be the actions of someone unknown to you who simply shares your ISP.

Please be patient, or, if the option is available, use a different ISP, until we feel that this ban may be lifted or otherwise modified."

This is a big "wtf." I've never in my life visited that site except for one instance when I visited Syk's page. Nobody else here could have done anything..

So I check the message boards to see if there's anything. I go to the Help section, and I find nothing. I tried out the Search bar, but "this feature is available only to members."

I really did try to avoid it, but I eventually resorted to the Contact Us page. I fill out a polite little notice, and hit the send button.

"We're sorry, but this feature is available only to members."

Gah, it's like it's some sort of secret society that they pretend is actually public. It's MADNESS.

Not that I need a Deviant account with every fiber of my being. I was just kind of looking forward to getting my work exposed to a wider audience.

Real entry tonight or tomorrow.
