   Happy Panda Birthday!!

Happy Birthday to all the January babies!

First things first! Everyone go to Desbreko's site and wish him a very happy birthday today. It has been said, therefore, let it be done!! Go forth my evil minions and do my bidding!!

Oh and yes, January 3rd is my birthday too! At 7:20am on January 3rd I will be officially 29 years old! I can't believe I am almost 30! Tonight my parents are taking us (my big bro, John and me) out to dinner to celebrate our birthdays. Yes, I said OUR birthdays. My big bro Hiroshi's birthday is January 4th! My brother's 2nd birthday present was me! Whatta great gift. I am the gift that keeps on giving! lol Who wouldn't want ME as a birthday present?! ::strikes pose:: I rock.

John and I had a great time at the "Surrealist Ball". Lots of amazing costumes and people just having a good time. If any of you guys get a chance to go, I highly recommend it. We are planing on going again next year. Our little group plans on making costumes for the ball. I suggested we all go as pirates, but we will wait and see what everyone else wants to do. I mean pirates, how can you go wrong with that?! Arrrr!! I still have a ton of pictures I still need to get onto my computer but I do have a few to share with you. It was, well, surreal!

An aerialist performing.

The countdown to the new year!

March Fourth Marching Band!

I have more pictures of the ball I will post later. It was really amazing. As you can tell I was upfront and center at the countdown to the new year. It was great, the dancers, music and even a group of people on stilts! It was such a fun way to ring in the new year. We could also see the fireworks from the Space Needle which was just down the road from where we were. Out the front of the building was the view of the Space Needle and out the back was Lake Union. It was amazing!

I hope the new year will be as much fun as ringing it in was! I think it is time for a bishie break!

Eiri Yuki!

Now for your question of the day. It's going to be an easy one...when is your birthday and how old are you going to be?

I already told you guys my answers to this question. My birthday is today, January 3rd and I am 29 years old! It's weird, I don't feel any different than when I was 25 years old. I wonder if I will feel different at 30? I guess I will find out when I am there. ^_^

Your Bizarre and Unusual Holiday reminder for January 3rd are "Sleep Day" and "Humiliation Day"! Don't forget that the entire month of January is "National Blood Donor Month", "National Hobby Month", "Hot Tea Month", "National Oatmeal Month" and "National Soup Month"!! I am sure there is something here we can all celebrate.

I think I am going to celebrate "Sleep Day" right now!

Well, I am off. I am still really worn out. We stayed up until around 4am on the 1st, got up at 10am, went on a little hike, drove the 3 hours home from Seattle in the snow (saw 2 cars off the road and one upside down). I think today is an excellent day to celebrate "Sleep Day"! I love you all and hope your new years celebration was as fun or more fun than mine.

Be sure to have some birthday cake with me!

   Happy New Year!!

NEW year, not NUDE year!

Well, we have made it to the end of the year. Filled with ups and downs it's all coming to an end. I wish everyone a very happy and safe new year filled with only the best the world has to offer. If you are celebrating be safe. There are so many crazy people out I want to make sure you will all be back here in 2005 to read my crazy ramblings!

As I mentioned yesterday John and I are going to Seattle for the Surrealist Ball. Should be interesting. I will take my camera and get some pictures of the festivities. ^_^

Let's have our very last bishie break for 2004!!

Sexy Saiyuki Boys!

Now, your very last question of the year is one you probably saw coming a mile away. Do you make new year resolutions? If you do, what are they for 2005?

Mine are always the same. Get in better shape and eat right. Now let's see how long this lasts. Maybe I should keep track of my progress on line. You guys can keep me honest and help me when I want to break down and eat a pizza! Mmmmm, pizza...yummy. I think you guys will have your work cut out if you try to keep me from falling off my diet! LOL

The only holiday reminder for December 31st is for New Year's Eve! Let's celebrate by some useless trivia! New Years Trivia: Did you know that a raisin dropped in a glass of fresh champagne will bounce up and down continuously from the bottom of the glass to the top.

Pandas bounce too!

I am going to end my last post of the year by wishing you all the best in 2005. I love you all and I am so happy to be apart of such a wonderful online community. TheOtaku has been a place of much happiness for me. I have made many friends and know that the coming year will be filled with many new friends.

Now, tradition dictates that after the clock strikes midnight you are suppose to have a toast, kiss your date and sing Auld Lang Syne. I raise my glass (with sparkling cider) and wish all of you for a very happy and prosperous new year! ::kisses everyone:: Now all that is left is the appropriate song for the occassion!

Listen to the sound of my melodious voice!

Auld Lang Syne

Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And days of Auld Lang Syne.
For Auld Lang Syne, my dear,
For Auld Lang Syne,
We'll take a cup of kindness yet
For Auld Lang Syne.
And here's the hand, my trusty friend
And gives a hand of thine
We'll take a cup of kindness yet
For Auld Lang Syne.
For Auld Lang Syne, my dear,
For Auld Lang Syne,
We'll take a cup of kindness yet
For Auld Lang Syne.

Now have a wonderful New Year's Eve and I will see you next year!

   Panda Adventure!

It truly is an amazing adventure!

Can you believe it, an actual post from me! I thought I would give a special two panda thumbs up for one of the gifts I received from a dear friend of mine. I got "The Amazing Panda Adventure"!! I remember seeing this move when it first came out. I actually went to the movie theater to see it. Now I am the very proud owner of the DVD! Too cool huh!

My other Christmas gifts included a $50 gift certificate to Best Buy, cash, tons of candy and cookies, a gift certificate to the gym John and I workout at along with 2 new big fluffy towels to use after swimming, anime (GITS: Stand Alone Complex 1, Inu Yasha movie 1, Castle in the Sky, Gravitation vol 4, Wolf's Rain vol 4), CSI: Las Vegas seasons 3 and 4 and CSI:Miami season 1, manga (Gravitation vol 9, Saiyuki vol 4), tickets to the "Surrealist Ball" on New Year's Eve and a ton of cards and even some great fan art! All in all it was a very good holiday. ^_^

Time for a much overdue bishie break!!

I really love K, he's such a hottie!

Plus, if you don't think he's hot he would probably kill you! I just had to use him for my bishie break for today after reading my newest volume of Gravitation. I just wonder where I can get myself a giant mecha panda like Reiji/Rage? Oh what fun I could have with a giant mecha panda!!

Now, your question of the day! What are you doing to ring the new year in?

Party like a Panda!

Like I had mentioned earlier, I have tickets to the "Surrealist Ball". It should be interesting. Hopefully my feeling good holds out so I can go to the party. The thing that is going to be fun is my brother-in-law, who got the tickets, celebrates his birthday on January 1st. Mine is the 3rd so we are also going to celebrate our birthdays together before we all go to the ball with some friends. Birthday party then New Year's Eve party all on the same day. How fun!

This will be the first time I have gone to something this swanky. Normally I ring in the new year at home away from all the crazy drunks. If any of you are going out, be safe and watch out for those looneys out there. Heaven knows there are tons of them out there!

Your Bizarre and Unusual Holiday reminder for December 29th is "Pepper Pot Day"!

Enjoy!

Well, I guess I best try to make the rounds to all your sites. I love you all and thank you for all your well wishes. I really am feeling much better now. You guys all rock.

Where oh where has my little Panda gone?

If I told you, you wouldn't believe me.

Reports of my death are completely true! Wait, that's not right. I am still alive. I survived the holidays but I haven't been feeling the best. I have pretty much been stuck in the house. I think I pushed myself to much durning Christmas. My inlaws staying at my house, the holiday itself and my RA flaring up was just a bit too much. Needless to say, I haven't been spending much time doing much of anything the last couple of days. Heck, I even took a nap on Christmas day in my old bedroom at my parents' house from being so pooped out! LOL

One thing that is good (in a way I guess) is that I didn't get my chemo injection since I feel so crappy! Woo Hoo!!

I miss you all so much and I don't want you to worry about me. I will be fine. I always pull through now don't I. Great big bear hugs to all of you and I hope you all had a great Christmas and just in case, have a very safe and Happy New Years if I don't make it back here to post! Hopefully I will be here so we can celebrate my birthday!

   Missing Panda

Have you seen me?

I have been:

a) abducted by wild chihuahuas.
b) joined a marauding band of mini-mart bandits who only steal hot and spicy pork rinds.
c) training my army of cuddly kittens for world domination.
d) trying to get ready for Christmas.

If you picked "d", you are correct! Good for you!

I am sorry I have been so spacy as of late. I really am trying to get my life in order, and, well, I am not doing a very good job of it right now. Hopefully I should be back on track after the holidays. >_<;;

I love you all and hope you are having a wonderful holiday season!

All I want for Christmas is world domination!

Ok, fine, I will give you guys credit if you picked "c" as a reason I haven't been around.

   Super quick update.

I am so far behind!

Quick update: I am alive, busier than busy and nowhere near ready for the holidays. Short update, have to go to doctor appts today.

Quick bishie break:

They must be holiday shopping.

Quick question: Are you ready for Christmas?

Quick answer: NO.

Quick reminder: December 21st Bizarre and Unusual Holiday are "Hamburger Day ", "Humbug Day", "National Flashlight Day" and "Look on the Bright Side Day"!!

"Always look on the bright side of life!"

Now that I have that song stuck in all the Monty Python "Life of Brian" fans, I need to get going. I love you all and hope your holiday season is running a bit more smoothly than mine!

   Time for a long update!

Happy Holidays!

I am so far behind on stuff I think I might just forget on catching up on things and just start with things currently going on and go from there. >_<;; Oh well. If anything I am going to try to at least keep up with you guys. You are at the top of my list. Hooray for myO friends! To start, here is a nice big blog entry for your reading enjoyment!

Be sure to check out my interview with Jeremy Cranford of Wizards of the Coast. He was cool enough to share some incredible images of the Magic cards BEFORE they get all cropped up and put on the cards. The images are big but they really are worth the time to look at. Now as a special treat for my friends who visit my site and a special thank you to Jeremy for his time I have some more stuff from Jeremy I am going to share with you guys. ^_^

Sorry kids, it is not the "Freddie Krugger animation" that he mentioned in the interview. I have never seen it but John has and when Jeremy mentioned it in the interview he (John) cracked up. I guess this is something from back in their high school/early college days.

Tribute to the Master

This is a card that Jeremy did the illustrations on. It comes from the card game "Vampire: the Eternal Struggle" that Wizards put out in '96. I have never played this game for the only card I have is this very one. LOL On a side note, I have never played Magic either. I know, I am lame...if someone would give me some cards maybe I would play the game. (Hint, hint, JC, give me some cards!)

This next image is one that I hold dear to my heart. Actually, it almost gave me a heart attack when I first saw it 9 years ago. Let me set the stage for all of you. John and I just got married. We are at my parent's house with the family and close friends. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, other friends...we are opening wedding gifts. We see this big present that we figured must be some "fine art" for our "new lives together as husband and wife". For most of the family this was the first time they have met. John's grandparents (who I love to death) came all the way from Indiana for the wedding. John's grandpa leads the church choir and was a little concerned that we had champaigne for our toast. Good God fearing Christians from the mid-west. Anywho, we decide to make that the very first gift we open. We read the card and find out it is from our dear friend Jeremy.

The family gathered around us to see what the gift is. John rips open the wrapping. We all see the back side of the custom frame. Somebody says "Oh, it's customed framed!" It is an original piece of art work made my Mr. Cranford with a likeness of John and, well, someone else. Here is what they see...

::gasp!::

So, our first wedding gift has a likeness of John putting on a motorcycle helmet on in the foreground and in the background is what appears to be a library with a naked woman with black boots standing on a ladder behind him. Following the gasp by the family members comes the next logical comment...

Everyone: "Is that Gail on the ladder?!"

OMG, that was so flippin' funny to see the family react to the wedding gift! Oh, and no that is not me on the ladder, my boobs are bigger. Just setting the record straight there! XD

Thanks Jeremy for giving us the most memorable wedding gift. It now hangs proudly in our spare room that we use as, of all things, a library and game room. You can sit under this fine piece of art work as you play such high class games as GTA: San Andreas. Truly art is a gift that keeps on giving. ^_^

I think it is time for a special Magic bishie break!

Nezumi!

What a handsome nezumi indeed! For those of you who don't know, nezumi in Japanese means rat. ^_^

Now your question of the day, of course, deals with Magic: the Gathering and card games! Have you ever played Magic? Do you play any other card games such as Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Neopets or even just poker or solitare?

Don't make me a Frenzied Panda!

I am not really a card playing kind of girl. The most dealing with cards that I play is some poker and Uno. I love Uno. I have never really gotten into any of the other trading card or rpg card games. I really should. I am actually using this as a bit of research as to finding something I might be interested in. Give me your suggestions, I would love to hear what card games you guys like to play. ^_^

You guys get not one, not two but THREE Bizarre and Unusual Holidays for December 19th! It is "Look for an Evergreen Day", "Go Carolling Day" and "Oatmeal Muffin Day". Perhaps you can eat an oatmeal muffin while you are carolling in a neighborhood with evergreen trees!

Wow, that was a big update. I think I was overdue in a nice big post, seeing how I used that Rum and Monkey journal updater the other day. I know, I am lame for not doing a real update. I am glad most of you guys figured out it was a joke and not really me coming up with that crazy stuff. Not that it is so far fetched for me to write something that bizarre. LOL

I love you all and hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season. Now, to close out my blog entry for today...a DDR Bunny.

Lots of things to mention today!!

Congrats Kev!!

First things first. I wanted to give a special shout out to my dear friend Kevin and his job with Harmony Gold! As you all know (and if you don't know- SHAME ON YOU!!!) that my all time favorite anime is Robotech. It is what got me really into anime. Well, Kevin is working for the company that made Robotech. I am jealous! Everyone check out this nice little write up on Robotech.com about Mr. McKeever, his personal blog and of course Robotech.com.

Congrats again Kev and I wish you the best at HG! ^_^

Quick note: Shanny I am thinking of you! ::huggles::

Quicker note: I am trying my best to make it to sites...really I am. I just can't believe how far behind of stuff I got while I was sick. I hate being sick.

I wanted to give a great big myO welcome to Mouse!! Mouse, or Shawn as he is known offline, is one of my bestest friends in the entire world. I love him to death and want to make sure you all stop by his site and say hello. I command you all to go and sign his guestbook!! Go my evil minions!! Do my bidding!! While you are at it, do my bidding on eBay!!

I think we need to take a quick bishie break!

Last Saturday before Christmas! I am not done with my shopping yet!!

Yes D, I feel your pain. It is the last Saturday before Christmas and the shopping is not yet finished. I didn't even get my Christmas cards out in the mail because I was sick and didn't write them. I think I am skipping them this year. I am sorry all. Know that I am thinking of all of you this holiday season. Hey, isn't it the thought that counts? Well, I am thinking. I should still get credit for that!

Now your question of the day. Are you done with all your holiday shopping?

A present, for me?!

Now you all know from what I said earlier, I am no where close to being done with my shopping. Oh bother. I really wish I could just get my childhood holiday excitement back. Now I kinda of dread the holidays and all the extra responsibilities that comes along with it. How pathetic huh. I am jaded over the holidays, that makes me sad. Oh bother. Let's move on.

The Bizarre and Unusual Holiday reminder for December 18th is "Bake Cookies Day" and "National Roast Suckling Pig Day"! Hmm, fresh baked cookies sound devine right now. Yummy!

Well, I am sure I am forgetting to mention something but I have a million and one things to get done. Heck, I haven't taken my morning medication and it is almost 1pm right now. I am so far behind. I love you all and I promise I will make the rounds soon.
