Time for a long update!
Happy Holidays!
I am so far behind on stuff I think I might just forget on catching up on things and just start with things currently going on and go from there. >_<;; Oh well. If anything I am going to try to at least keep up with you guys. You are at the top of my list. Hooray for myO friends! To start, here is a nice big blog entry for your reading enjoyment!
Be sure to check out my interview with Jeremy Cranford of Wizards of the Coast. He was cool enough to share some incredible images of the Magic cards BEFORE they get all cropped up and put on the cards. The images are big but they really are worth the time to look at. Now as a special treat for my friends who visit my site and a special thank you to Jeremy for his time I have some more stuff from Jeremy I am going to share with you guys. ^_^
Sorry kids, it is not the "Freddie Krugger animation" that he mentioned in the interview. I have never seen it but John has and when Jeremy mentioned it in the interview he (John) cracked up. I guess this is something from back in their high school/early college days.
Tribute to the Master
This is a card that Jeremy did the illustrations on. It comes from the card game "Vampire: the Eternal Struggle" that Wizards put out in '96. I have never played this game for the only card I have is this very one. LOL On a side note, I have never played Magic either. I know, I am lame...if someone would give me some cards maybe I would play the game. (Hint, hint, JC, give me some cards!)
This next image is one that I hold dear to my heart. Actually, it almost gave me a heart attack when I first saw it 9 years ago. Let me set the stage for all of you. John and I just got married. We are at my parent's house with the family and close friends. Grandparents, aunts, uncles, other friends...we are opening wedding gifts. We see this big present that we figured must be some "fine art" for our "new lives together as husband and wife". For most of the family this was the first time they have met. John's grandparents (who I love to death) came all the way from Indiana for the wedding. John's grandpa leads the church choir and was a little concerned that we had champaigne for our toast. Good God fearing Christians from the mid-west. Anywho, we decide to make that the very first gift we open. We read the card and find out it is from our dear friend Jeremy.
The family gathered around us to see what the gift is. John rips open the wrapping. We all see the back side of the custom frame. Somebody says "Oh, it's customed framed!" It is an original piece of art work made my Mr. Cranford with a likeness of John and, well, someone else. Here is what they see...
::gasp!::
So, our first wedding gift has a likeness of John putting on a motorcycle helmet on in the foreground and in the background is what appears to be a library with a naked woman with black boots standing on a ladder behind him. Following the gasp by the family members comes the next logical comment...
Everyone: "Is that Gail on the ladder?!"
OMG, that was so flippin' funny to see the family react to the wedding gift! Oh, and no that is not me on the ladder, my boobs are bigger. Just setting the record straight there! XD
Thanks Jeremy for giving us the most memorable wedding gift. It now hangs proudly in our spare room that we use as, of all things, a library and game room. You can sit under this fine piece of art work as you play such high class games as GTA: San Andreas. Truly art is a gift that keeps on giving. ^_^
I think it is time for a special Magic bishie break!
Nezumi!
What a handsome nezumi indeed! For those of you who don't know, nezumi in Japanese means rat. ^_^
Now your question of the day, of course, deals with Magic: the Gathering and card games! Have you ever played Magic? Do you play any other card games such as Yu-Gi-Oh, Pokemon, Neopets or even just poker or solitare?
Don't make me a Frenzied Panda!
I am not really a card playing kind of girl. The most dealing with cards that I play is some poker and Uno. I love Uno. I have never really gotten into any of the other trading card or rpg card games. I really should. I am actually using this as a bit of research as to finding something I might be interested in. Give me your suggestions, I would love to hear what card games you guys like to play. ^_^
You guys get not one, not two but THREE Bizarre and Unusual Holidays for December 19th! It is "Look for an Evergreen Day", "Go Carolling Day" and "Oatmeal Muffin Day". Perhaps you can eat an oatmeal muffin while you are carolling in a neighborhood with evergreen trees!
Wow, that was a big update. I think I was overdue in a nice big post, seeing how I used that Rum and Monkey journal updater the other day. I know, I am lame for not doing a real update. I am glad most of you guys figured out it was a joke and not really me coming up with that crazy stuff. Not that it is so far fetched for me to write something that bizarre. LOL
I love you all and hope you are all having a wonderful holiday season. Now, to close out my blog entry for today...a DDR Bunny.
