Panda's Day Out!
Rice, tea, miso soup, tempura, california rolls, teriyaki chicken and honeydew.
Today my parents went to Seattle and I got to tag along. We went to Uwajimaya which is a wonderful Asian grocery store. I bought tons of yummy food and went into Kinokuniya (the bookstore section) and drooled over all the manga. I decided to opt for a Japanese magazine instead. After that we went to my uncle's restaurant, Togetsu, and I had what is in the above picture for lunch. That was just my portion! If you look you can see I have an extra bowl of rice. I am not sure why but my uncle gave it to me. Before we left he gave us 2 big bento (lunch) boxes with more Sushi and some Tonkatsu (breaded pork cutlet).
I think it's time for a bishie break!
Goku's ready to eat!
I am so happy to get my pantry restocked. I was out of most of the "staples" in a typical Asian pantry. I ended up buying a 50 pound bag of rice and soy sauce since I was completely out! I wasn't going to make it much longer without rice! >_<;;
Since I've got food on the brain, what is your favorite ethic food?
got bamboo?
Since I am Japanese I don't think I can count Japanese food as "ethic". I suppose that most of the time ethic food is something other than what you normally eat...right? I would have to say that my favorite would be tamales. I love tamales. Mmmmm, I should make John take me out to dinner so I can have some tamales.
Well, I best be going. I finally rested my elbow today so it doesn't hurt and I don't want it to flare up again. I love you all and thanks to all of you who went to read my latest interview, voted and left comments. You guys rock. ::huggles::
