   Couch Potato...er...Panda.

What do you mean I've been watching a rock for the last hour?!

What can I say, pandas are easily entertained. Get some bamboo, a comfy place to sit and even watching a large rock is fun. Heck, how many times have you turned on the TV and said there is nothing good on. At least with a large rock you know there is nothing good on!

As promised you shall all now see my "Family Room". This is the room I spend most of my time. I watch some tv and sit in the recliner with my laptop and check out theO. Pretty much that is my life. Now without further ado, the tour of my "Family Room".

From the kitchen.

Between the kitchen and dining room is a half wall. You can see the corner of that half wall in the bottom right corner of the picture. You can also see my dogs again. Brynner is wondering if I am going to give him a treat and Heston is under the coffee table. Even though he's a big dog he loves to crawl under the coffee table. He worms his way underneath. It's kind of funny to see such a big dog trying to squeeze under the table. Better yet is when both dogs get under that table at the same time!

Back on the tour, you can see this room is decorated in a "Country" style. I love birdhouses and ivy so this is the main theme through this room. The quilt hanging on the wall was a gift from my brother-in-law and his girlfriend. Under that you can kind of see a decorative country-style doll which is sitting on top of a VHS cabinet/end table. Next to that on the left is another window above my boring couch. This brings us to the very chair I am sitting in right now. Next to my recliner is a book shelf that holds my manga. The top three shelves are my English mangas and the bottom two (which you can't see) are my Japanese mangas. Next to that is another bookshelf that holds magazines, phone books, sketch book, pens/pencils, notepads and on the very top you can see my laptop. I have pretty much set up my little "nest" so I can reach the things I might need to relax. I am pretty sure John thinks I am going to grow roots in this chair.

From the Dining Room.

This is what I get to look at while sitting in my chair. On the same wall as my manga and catch all bookshelves is the sliding glass door that leads to the backyard. You can see the blinds for that on the far right of the above picture. The tall bookshelf contains my anime dvds. To the left of that is the entertainment center with our TV, DVD, VCR, Satellite receiver, stereo and a bunch of VHS and non-anime dvds. The painting that is above the TV is a Thomas Kincade. Next to the TV is another one of my birdhouses and the cat scratching posts. The top scooped platform is usually where you would find Harrison hanging out. At this moment he is in the front window looking outside.

In front of the TV is the PS2. It doesn't normally "live" out in this room which is why it looks a bit out of place here. Later on during the tour you'll see where it normally hangs out. What's kind of nerdy is the box it is sitting on top of is filled with all the Monty Python TV series and movies. John moves the PS2 out to the Family Room when his buddy's come over to play some Madden. It just hasn't found it's way back.

There's nothing on TV...

Here's a picture I took while sitting in my chair. Brynner was hanging out on the couch. It's funny. He doesn't do this when John is home, only when he is gone. I guess he knows that "mom" is easy going and will let him get away with getting up on the couch. I know, I am a push over when it comes to letting my boys do things like get on the bed or couch. If you look to the right of the picture you can see the chair and sewing table in the Living room.

That's about it for the Family Room. Tomorrow I will cook up a post about my kitchen!

Comment on Comments

Steptoussai: Thanks! Cozy is pretty much the word for it.

SomeGuy: The comments have been having some issues lately. Hopefully Justin will get that taken care of soon. ^_^ I would love to see a virtual tour of your home. That would be cool. Virtual tours are the next best thing to being there in person.

P-chansacutie: When I was living at home with my parents I did most of my living in my bedroom too. It was my little safe place away from the world. I could turn on my music and just do what I wanted...read magazines, write letters....zone out. It was all good.

ShadowLight: Nobody greets you like a dog does. It doesn't matter if you have gone for the entire day or just a few minutes, they are so happy to see you it really does make you feel good. My boy, unfortunately, get a bit too excited sometimes and plow into me. Panda vs. 2 large dogs...dogs win. lol

CosmicSailor: I can't sing to save my life, but I love to sing...weird. I can sing in Japanese pretty well, of course that is my own biased opinion and I am most likely singing as well as I do when singing in English. At least my dogs don't howl when I sing. That's good right?

Mamma Vash: Why am I not shocked that there is wool in your living room/dining room. Now what would surprise me is if you told me there was a room in your house that didn't have wool in it!

Bunnie Girl: To tell you the truth I am terrible when it comes to identifying types of wood. I do know that the hope chest is Cherry. Other than that, you'll have to ask John. Unfortunately he isn't home right now. He's on a business trip. ;_;

Ayame-meimei: Thanks! I still have several rooms to get through. Be sure to check back the next few days for more pictures! ^_^

MiasmaMoon: Mrs. Brightbill is waaaaay too formal for me. lol As for seeing "me", everyone says that we all have a twin somewhere in the world. Now my question is, do twins have other twins? Does that mean there are four people who look alike? What about Triplets? Does that mean there are six of them that look alike? Oh too much to think about...

ShikyoKasu: I have been slowly collecting my decorations over many years. You just need to do the same and before you know it you'll have a nice collection. ^_^

dposse: Thanks! ^_^

KimmehWolfwood: Yes, I whole heartedly agree that pandas are cute. Anyone who disagrees is a doo-doo head.

KitsuneTsuki: I've been feeling pretty okay lately. Of course now that I said that I've probably jinxed myself and now will end up stuck in bed for the rest of the week. D'oh!

BankofKev: Sorry I missed your phone call. I was out with my parents and aunt who is visiting from California. Having lived in Cali for over 40 years she came up here to the Northwest and froze. She is flying back to Modesto tomorrow. You crazy transplanted Californians and your warm comfortable winter weather...
