Stuck To My Katamari: Bamboo & Peanut Butter Cups.
Current Mood: Berry Happy
As you all know I went on a little shopping excursion with my friends the other day. Well, I ended up buying my very first (I know this is hard to believe) bamboo plant. Yes, this Panda has never owned any of that "Lucky Bamboo" that seems to be for sale anywhere and everywhere plants are sold. I finally broke down and bought a little starter bamboo with three stalks. It came in this cheap plastic cup which was fine since before I got the bamboo I ended up finding a cute little blue flower pot with bamboo on it at a yard sale. The best part, it was free. So after I bought the bamboo I transferred it over to the blue pot and it's super cute. ^_^ I feel lucky already.
On Sunday John and I were talking about old commercials we remembered from our childhood. The one I mentioned to him was an old Reese's Peanut Butter Cup commercial where they take this huge chunk of chocolate and plunk it into this big ol' jar of peanut butter. When I was a kid I so totally wanted to do that. John felt the same way. So we went on a hunt for a giant chunk of chocolate. Our quest lead us the bulk food section of one of the grocery stores in town. They have everything....except plain hunks of chocolate. They had white chocolate and milk chocolate with almonds...but no plain! Feeling defeated we walked a few bins down from the bricks of chocolate to find the mini Reese's Peanut Butter Cups. We bought a pound of those and called it good.
Alas, my childhood dream will have to wait a while longer. But someday...oh yes someday...my dream of eating a large chunk of milk chocolate dipped in a jar of creamy peanut butter will come true.
Question for everyone: What is your favorite candy?
For me it's chocolate. The only thing that changes is what is mixed with the chocolate. I love Peanut Butter Cups, Carmel Cups, York Peppermint Patties, Kit Kat, Milky Way...chocolate covered pretzels, strawberries, bananas....ice cream.....pretty much if it has chocolate I am game to try it. Mochas...now there is a combo of my two loves. Coffee and chocolate. Truly a match made in the heavens.
Cookies and Comments
white fang: Manga is a good choice to spend the money on. ^_^ As for working. I think I end up writing every day. I guess there is no rest for the wicked. :P
anguisel: Oh, I need those Saiyuki manga too. I also find myself in the craft section at Wal-Mart buying fabrics. Darn cosplay addiction causes me to constantly be buying stuff to sew! LOL
SomeGuy: That video is too funny...yet so familiar. Yeah, I groove to the tunes on the Katamari games. >_<;; Pork rinds and cookies...salty and sweet...you got your bases covered. Rock on man, rock on.
indifference: If only visiting friends online were as easy as getting on the internet. It would be such a blast to have an anime marathon with a bunch of fellow Otaku-ites. That would be way too much fun. Reading manga, looking at art books...watching hour after hour of anime. Oh, not to mention the snacks! Sounds like a great time to me!
Lytjuh: I love my aquarium! Saving up for a new one would be a very good way to spend $20 bucks...but so is the idea of using it all on manga. It's all good!
TMBpower: Sakura-con was great. Too bad you didn't make it in the doors! As for Uwajimaya..I'm not sure if they have import DVD's. I know they have CD's, magazines and manga but I don't think I have ever seen import DVD's.
Number5: That is very cool that you would spend the money on a pizza meal for the entire family. Pizza sounds good...I wonder if I can convince John to go for pizza tonight....
Shireishou: 2.5% is a very nice gift for the poor. Using the remainder on a costume is definitely a fun way to use the money!
jujitsuhoney: I think it's been fun looking at all the non-US residents figuring out what the currency converts too in their homelands. Manga seems pretty much the same "price" as it is over here. I can get, depending on the manga, about 3 for $20.
naski: Sales tax does suck. That is one thing I love about traveling to other states. Some states have no sales tax since they have income taxes instead. Or some states have a lower sales tax. Here in Washington it is 7.9%. Ouch!
sweet hypocrisies: Simpsons: Hit and Run is a fun game. I think it's a great way to spend $20 bucks.
KitsuneTsuki: Frappuccino and manga...sounds like the makings of a wonderful day to me! ~_^
Summoner Rekka: I've been watching the Death Note trailers as they have been coming out and I am chomping at the bit to see it! It looks like it's going to be fun to watch!
SunfallE: Having a big get together to hang out would be such a blast. I love being able to put faces and names (or screen names) together. ^_^
AngelBest Dream: I have a tendency to put money into pockets and forget about it. It's like a little surprise when I put a coat on and find "extra" money in a pocket. I think that has to be much better than just losing it! LOL
Chabichou: Craft supplies, food or a good book. Excellent choices. One can never have too many craft supplies!
BankofKev: You know how to treat your favorite bear right! Panda <3's Baked Alaska...especially when it's with you Kev! ~_^
