Suspense
That was definitaly the most suspenseful 20 minutes that I can remember. For Christmas, I got volumes 1-5 of the .hack//SIGN DVDs. Volumes 3-5 were the limited edition ones, 1 and 2 weren't because we couldn't find them. My dad said if we could find the other two, he'd get them. Anyway, today, I fianlly found the limited edition volume 1 on Ebay. It was the only one on all of Ebay that was still sealed. It was also $140. My parents agreed to buy it as an early birthday present. I went back to Ebay to keep track of the time. With under an hour left, my internet cut out. This was the worst thing that could have happened. I called Comcast and they told me that there was a blackout in my area (not electrical, just for cable). This would have made sense except for the fact that my friend, less than a half mile away, had a connection. It got to the point where it couldn't wait any longer. I called my friend (before I knew he had a connection) and asked him if he could get on Ebay. He said he could so I gave him the item number. There was 18 min 23 sec left on the auction. I couldn't think of what to do. Then, he reminded me of the laptop. Of course! The laptop! It has its own wireless internet connection from Sprint! I was saved! I turned it on and got on Ebay. It was going extremely slow. We placed a bid with under 10 minutes to go. Now, all that was left to do was wait. My friend (still on the phone) kept me up to date with the time left and the number of bids (which I was praying would not go over 1 - mine being the 1 of course). It got down to the last 10 seconds and still no more bids. Then... *suspense*... I won!!! I was so happy when I found out! While on the phone waiting for the end, my friend made a very good analogy for the situation. He said "This is like defusing a bomb. *Person in background* Cut the blue wire! *my friend* They're both blue!" This is how if felt but I'm happy now because I must have cut the rite wire ^_^. Thank you Atmosk! (my friend who helped me with this) And thank you dad! (for buying it - he doesn't read this though) I also got the first DVD (the limited edition one) of .hack//Legend of the Twilight (which started airing on Cartoon Network 2 weeks ago) today. It was a good day for me. How was yours? By the way, I feel like I forgot to add something to this story. I had typed the entire thing once and then something happened and the textbox cleared itself so I had to retype it. If I remember anything else, I'll add it later.
