Thrifting for the Androgynous
I went thrift store shopping today. I did not plan on buying anything really, but I ended up doing so. I was with a couple friends of mine and I got bored looking around at the men's clothes so I moved over to the women's clothes. I should tell you now that I was seriously looking around at things. Guess what I found -- something I have wanted for a while now --, a nice, long, black skirt.
I did buy it. I am rather cheap, even for a thrift store. I was a little uneasy about spending $3.99 (plus tax), but it turns out it was half off. So it was good. I am not sure about its flowingness. I have yet to actually put it on. But it is a nice sturdy material it seems, so if it is not all that flowy at least it is durable. I just have to keep it from my mom. She will flip if I wear it, lol, so she does not know I have it. I shall probably just wear it when I hang out with certain friends of mine. I like it. The waist my be a little small, but it has elastic, so it will fit anyway.
Hoorah for me. |

Holy Craps!
My step-mother thinks I should go to Vegas and shoot dice, but I think that might get awfully expensive in constantly having to buy new ones. ^_~ *drum beat* Yes, I am so funny. Although on a more serious note, I was at my dad's house this weekend and one night we played Yahtzee(I think I spelled that right), which is a dice based game. We played five games of it, four of which I swept up the competition. One of which I took third (of four people) place on, but we were playing the best of five anyway so really I was the winner. =P I do not know, if I ever played 5 Card Draw (poker) with dice I would probably do really well. Especially when it comes to Full Houses. I got a lot of those last night. On the last game I kept spitting out straights, though. Though, really, if I had 4 dice laying out all turned up with the same number, everyone that was playing could pretty much bet that the next roll would be that same number. I kept drawing on my score card... |

No More Mirrors
I have decided that putting a picture of my own self up in the little box is narcissistic so I took it down. I gave you something a little more pleasurable instead. It still remains "me" in a way. I mean, it is Johnny and my name is John. We are both uber skinny. I think I am taller than him though. I am like Jimmy (Johnny's wannabe fan from issue 7) in terms of height, but not that annoying. Johnny did the world a favor in killing him... and all those other people, whether he enjoyed it or not. I like the picture. It goes with the caption in a not really sort of way that makes sense but does not but you laugh at it anyway kind of way... Johnny the Homicidal Maniac and The Princess Bride. Never thought you would see the day, eh? |

It tastes like turkey.
I was at a restaurant the other day called Lunkers. I must say my enjoyment of it was rather mediocre. I had some onion rings for an appetizer, which were good. Then I ordered a chicken strip basket for the meal. Now, I love chicken strips so I was really looking forward to them, but they get and I take one bite out of a strip (it was more like a nugget, actually) and it tasted a lot like turkey. My dad took a bite and agreed. I am not very fond of the taste of turkey so I really did not eat much. The fries were not all that great either... Stupid turkeys... |

Chicken and granola bars make a nice meal.
I have just heard the greatest song ever. It is Chicken Song by AFI. It is this little jingle their bassist, Hunter, wrote while they were recording their album Black Sails in the Sunset. He is vegan (does not eat anything that comes from an animal) and while recording that album he kept getting mad cravings for chicken and granola bars. So instead of eating them, he wrote a song about it. They just sung it at one point and did not even know they were recording it when they did. It is so funny. I have hyet to find the full song, and the correct song (there is some other guy with a song called 'Chicken Song'). A friend of mine has it though, so I could just get it from her. It is really good. ^__^
[edit] Here are the lyrics to the song:
Chicken's good for the body.
Chicken's good for the mind.
Chicken's good for the funny bone.
Chicken's easy on the eyes.
Yum-Yum chicken bone.
Bock Bock Chicken.
Yum-Yum chicken bone.
Tell all your friends.
Granola bar - nice and chewy.
Granola bar - my best friend.
Granola bar - how I love you.
Granola bars don't beat the kids.
Yum-Yum granola bar.
Chew-Chew-Chewy.
Yum-Yum granola bar.
Tell all your friends.
Chicken and granola bars make a nice meal.
Especially when you're all alone.
It's something to eat when your wife's in the shelter,
Because she ran into the door.
One. Two. Three. Four.
Yum-Yum granola bone.
Bock Bock chewy.
Yum-Yum granola bone.
Tell all your friends.
Yum-Yum-Yummy.
Bock-Bock-Bocky.
Slap-Slap-Slappy.
Tell all your friends.
(then you hear Davey say) "Nice! All right. We may have to record that tomorrow." |

The Queen speaks the truth.
I just read the entry Newbies...UGH. on my wife's, Queen Asuka, myOtaku blog deal. I must say that I whole-heartedly agree. OtakuBoards just is not the same as it used to be. I think Heaven's Cloud put it best in the comments to that entry. All these members have a close little group of friends, but they are not really close with anyone else. So we just have these groups of people who are so distant from each other... How I miss the good ol' days... |

It feels like the first time...
Well, here I am with my brand spankin' new myOtaku account. It looks pretty spiffy thus far. I shall probably gather up some fanart I have done tonight (though, all of my best stuff is elsewhere) and scan them tomorrow so I can put them up here.
Mostly this here entry is just to see what this thing is like... So I shall catch you later. |
