Scariness
Okay, so last night, me and some of my friends were gonna go have a beachfire. We're all fully aware that this is illegal, of course, but we really haven't ever cared, and we cared even less then.
Alright then. So we got all geared up, (we being me, Luke, Terri, Taber, and Dallas) with our lighters, knives, pop and marshmallows and started down to the beach.
So as soon as we got there, a firetruck like, ran right past us. We thought that was kinda ironic. I made 'wee-oo' noises and giggled. (I was hyper. I drank lots of coffee.)
We went to one of the oak trees to get marshmallow sticks when it came back around to us again. We weren't terribly worried until it stopped, seriously, like a few inches away.
Luke started to drag me off into the forested area around the beach. I was really close to having a freakin asthma attack. I asked what we were doing, because I haven't really been with them before when they got in trouble. Terri said we should hide. Luke said we should get out of there.
Taber had scouted ahead to see if there were anymore beach fires, so we had to go find him first. We knew Dallas would be fine, he takes Ninja. He can hide and move really fast.
Anyway. We found the people with the fire, and decided we should warn them, so Terri yelled at them that the firetruck was there, and to run.
This is about where we got in trouble. Not real trouble or anything. But the firemen started to yell stuff like 'who said that' and 'get back here!'.
So, we went further down the beach, further away with our camping gear. We realised that we couldn't actually get in trouble for just hanging out on the beach eating marshmallows and having pop, even if we did look hella suspicious..being a bunch of young people in trenchcoats and all black at night time.. with huge bags of weapons and such.
Cause they can't search you if you haven't done anything.
We didn't get caught, but there's my excitement for the day anyway. I was scared, but nobody else was.
Wooo.
.. we didn't get our damned beach fire though...

You will be strong, and want no more..
Sorry. Listening to VNV Nation. Wicked cool band, seriously.
Apologies for the absolute stupidity of last night's entry. I worked a very long shift, and it made me tired. I still say thats the coolest picture ever, but I will still apologise for any confusion I might've caused.
We all know I'm good at weirding people out.
(aside: Ow. Dude, I just cracked my back on purpose. It hurt this time. Weird.)
I came to an agreement with my client. (I'll stop saying boss, since you know, I'm kinda presenting the service.) I will offer a rate that I think is suitable before any commissions are done. I got eighty dollars for the last picture I did. Which was fair; it took me around eight hours to finish. I suspect the next one will take around twelve, since I need to draw a girl in a suit, so I get 120 dollars for that.
Also, I retain copyright to all my images, and get final say on where they're put and what they're used for. He can't franchise for three years (because we need to get the business off the ground first). I make a certain percentage of the business revenue too. So really, this may become my full time job soon. If it works. I hope so.
Fair? I think so.
Everything I make from this I put towards the house. At this rate, I can buy a house, in full, next year. Luke and I have saved 12000 dollars now, and we keep adding to it. I really believe we can do this.
Not bad for a college dropout, I say.
Ah. Also, Luke may have a government job soon, within a week, working in IT repairs. He'll get 17 dollars an hour! So we really hope so.
Wow. Things really look good now.
If I can get ahold of my best friend, maybe I'll take her for lunch.
As an aside, I promised my friend Chris I'd draw him his character. Sorry, Chris, it's gonna be a while. I gotta do this first. I'll get on it though. I'm sure pencil crayons are okay.
(Working for yourself is the most awesome feeling in the whole world. Besides love. Sorry, love's pretty bitchin.)
Alright! Somthing that's not work!
My cat has become an outdoor cat without me really agreeing. For some reason, in Victoria, nearly none of the buildings have screens on the windows. It's warm outside, so ours need to be open. She's very persuasive, and she's been outside a lot.
So I just let it go now. Two days ago she brought home a bird and I nearly screamed. I thought she'd killed the poor thing, and everyone knows how much of a sap I am for these sorts of things..
Turns out the bird was faking it, and as soon as my cat was gone, it put up a huge fuss in the living room until I opened all the windows (um.. I have one window.. and a door. eheh.) and it found it's way out. I felt really bad too, it hit the wall about six times. x.x
Ivy was unimpressed with me, but the bird was happy.
I have more to say, but I've really yammered on enough, so I'll post this now.
Oh! One last thing. Is anyone going to Anime Evolution in Vancouver? It goes from August 20-22. If anyone's going, tell me, and maybe we can meet there or split on a hotel. I'm meeting Space Coyote from Saturnalia!
Or I'm supposed to. Thats why I'm going.
Anyway. Thats all for now.
прощание!
Rayne

Quick, easy question
Why is it, that whenever someone doesn't agree with me on something, instead of talking to me about it on messanger, they log off and avoid me entirely?! 'No, no, Rayne, I'd rather not solve the problem, I will now sulk like a four year old'.
And why does this only happen with guys!?
I was just told I couldn't bring a fantasy element into an rpg by a member, because he was 'Agnostic'. I have no friggen idea in hell what that means! And you know, if it's some weird religious thing, I would've understood, if it was explained, instead of him telling me I was being a moron, and logging off.
What the hell is wrong with everything?! BAH!

Well.. crap.
Okay, I need both advice here, and.. well, mostly advice.
I finished my picture of Corky. I'm very pleased with it and all, and Patrick (the store owner) likes it too. He says it's a perfect representation of her.
I'm glad, I really am. I just have a few questions. I've never worked on commission before.
1- I got 40 dollars for the original copy of this picture, but I've drawn seven other versions since then. Should I be asking for more money? Does anyone know a tactful way I can do that?
2- I am a horrible businessperson. He asked if I could draw a few more pictures, showing her at different angles for the sake of design; also, he wants me to give her a backpack and a necklace. I don't mind that, really.. but I want to know if I should be getting paid for what I did already or not.
3- Is 40 dollars fair for this? Like, for the whole thing? I don't know..
Agh. It's all very exciting, but I don't know the way I should be approaching this.
(My cat is very noisy. Enough, noisy cat, I am a busy girl. ~shoos~)
Once the restauraunt opens, I'll be given an office. I don't know where that is going to be, exactly. But I'll have my own office with a drawing table. A place where I can do design work and what not. I'll be in charge of promotions, all the art designs, and all that fun stuff. I think I'll be given a computer, too. See, knowing that, I don't know if I should be horribly concerned about the commissions I recieve now. I don't care about money, I'm just afraid I'll be stepped on or ripped off if I don't ask for it. But I'll be somewhere.
Patrick is going to try to open franchises of this around Canada, too. That will be interesting, if it goes.
All in all.. I don't know. Any reassurance, or comments, or tellings to Rayne of what she should be doing would be absolutely smashing. I've never done this before, so anything helps.
Thanks muchly.

^-^
I've decided, after two years of being a strict vegetarian, to take my first steps to becoming Vegan. I've already stopped eating eggs. Now it's milk. Then cheese.
.. there's some good Vegan cheese..
Wish me luck, I know this will be harder than my descision not to eat the flesh of cute animals.
//.r.a.y.n.e.//
(also, there's no need to leave me a list of reasons why we're supposed to eat meat. I don't care. I don't want to hear it, and I don't believe that crap. Because I believe firmly that people shouldn't eat animals. I respect other people's descisions to do what they want, so people can friggen get off my back over this and respect mine. Damned right.)

Hmm.
I left the computer for ten seconds and I think Eric left. Grr, Eric, grr to you and your having of a life aside from the interweb.
(I'm really joking, so I hope it comes across that way.)
Heh. This picture of Corky is starting to look a bit like a friendly Cathrine.. oops. Totally non intentional. Maybe I shouldn't have made her blonde. I don't know what it is.. something about her face.
Anyway. It's coloured. All I gotta do now is refine the hair, put in a background, and sign it with my copyright.
Wee. Good stuff.
I work from 1- 9:30 today, which blows big time, since it means that I will completly miss seeing Luke after work, and I'll also miss any sort of chance to rpg with anyone else, because of stupid timezones and people doing this whole 'sleeping' thing. Bogus, I tell you. Sleeping is for the weak. Resist!
I really shouldn't have drank that pot of coffee. 0.o ~twitches~
That mixed with sleeping more than four hours in a night.. hmm.
The burn on my hand isn't as bad as I thought it was. I was originally really freaked out, because the skin was bubbling and bleeding and stuff. But I've left it alone, and it's kinda numb now, but not so bad that I can't type.. I need to finish this picture anyway, and god help anyone who tries to hold me away from the computer for more than a day. It's just not gonna happen. Right then.
Thoughts: Should I spend 40 bucks on an anime art book? It's very nice and shiny.
