OMG! It's been forever since I've updated this...
Whoa...sorry to all the loyal readers out there (Thanks Mom!). School and work have been rough lately. I've in two Lit classes and one of the professors is particularly evil. And they put me on fulltime at work....but I don't get the benefits of it. It's strange, I stay in college and work 40 hours a week and I don't get anything. A kid that started a year after me fails out of college and now he's a dayshift manager and probably makes more than me. It's weird to see the failures get rewarded. I don't really mind though, I've been sucking up lately. I got a raise! First one in 2 1/2 years.

Anyway, Chance Pop Session finally came in on Monday. I haven't got a chance to watch it this week thanks to midterms, but I might hold off until Spring Break anyway. I also got the complete set of Princess Nine two weeks ago. I really like Princess Nine, except for this weird filler storyline that takes place right in the middle. I think that anime companies should just make the anime as long as it needs to be to complete the story...not just fill in to pad the series up to 24 episodes or whatever. Filler = Evil. I still need to watch the last two episodes though. Guess I'll do that this weekend. This little fella at work trades anime with me. I'm gonna borrow EVA again in trade for Princess Nine. I like trading with him. I know he can't get anime very often and it's fun to expose him to new types of anime.

Oh, and I started getting Magical Shopping Arcade Abernoshi (bah, something like that). And I love it! It's like FLCL, but without the deep meaning. I love funny random stuff, but sadly, it uses southern accents to represent Japanese dialect. :( God, I hate when they do that. Just leave it ALONE! No one wants to hear Bubba talking about Osaka.

Anyway, pray for me. I'm gonna try to pull a 3 day long animeathon in two weeks. I'll have a detailed account for you guys!

The end of Chobits made me cry!
I just finished off Chobits, such a sweet ending. I must have cried about 3 times, just during the last episode alone. The last 2 DVDs of Chobits felt so rushed however, it seems like instead of having so much filler at the beginning of the series, they should have spaced it out a little more. I mean, last night when I was about to watch the last two episodes, I felt tired because there were so many unanswered questions and only 40 minutes to do it in. Worst part of it is that there are still a lot of unanswered questions, but I guess that's what the good ole imagination is for. I mean, I liked it, I'm going to watch the series again this weekend. Watching an episode or two after work is a pain because you forget a lot of the little things that happened. Not to mention that I haven't seen the first DVD in like...ages...something like that.

Still waiting on Chance Pop Session. I ordered it last Friday, so I guess it will be here sometime next week. I feel like a real retard because they had a deal on the first DVD of Fruits Basket and I really wish I had ordered that as well. Fruits Basket is pretty hard to find here, at least the entire series. Sometimes a random Fruits Basket disc will float by, but it's still about 5$ more than the rest of the anime.

After finishing Chobits though, I think it's time I start on a series that is tooth-rottingly sweet. (Is rottingly a word?) I have this obsession with Sumomo that's about 3 shades past weird. If persocoms ever exist, I'm totally getting two little ones and wearing them on my shoulders everywhere. I think I might start getting Sugar: A Tiny Snow Fairy or Mao-Chan. I really want Mao-Chan to be good, but I read somewhere that it super sucks. But, uh, you know...I think I saw a turtle in a still shot of Mao-Chan and I'm a sucker for turtles. Whichever I get, it has to be quite syrupy cute. I don't want any anger or bad vibes ruining it, just something that I can go "awww" at for a good 8 hours or so.

I finally forced my roommate to finish buying Cowboy Bebop. Hopefully we'll be getting it on Friday somewhere. I was getting a little tired of her always watching my stuff, but she doesn't even have a completed series yet. As long as she never gets addicted to anything like .hack again. .Hack is friggin evil, Bandai owes me for that series. On the plus side, I've never had so much fun staring at my dog for like 10 hours as I did that one day we decided to watch the first 5 discs of .hack//Sign.

   Grr to 2 hour delays
Well, my stuff finally came in today. I was getting ready to leave for class and the UPS fella pulls up into my driveway. He had a witty little wiseass comment that one expects from a man who's forced to drive around without a door, but he had my package, so I didn't care much. I was sorta surprised I didn't have to sign for it, you'd think they wouldn't just hand over that much stuff to someone without knowing if it was the right one. Not that I minded much, I just wish he would had arrived a little earlier so I could have at least pulled the stuff outta the wrapping and put it up on my DVD rack. (Speaking of DVD racks, does anyone know where I can get a nice one that holds about 200 DVDs?) Oh well, I suppose I'll try to watch FLCL after work through the week. I think I'm gonna do an all weekend animeathon this weekend featuring Ai Yori Aoshi and Chobits.

Anyway, about 6 inches of snow fell here last night and o'course, my school only got a 2 hour delay. 2 hour delay really means that only the professors that have tenure track and live in the spiffy faculty housing are planning on having classes today. :( At least Criminology was cancelled, but I woulda rather Brit Lit III had been cancelled. I would just go back home and assume this is a sign from the Gods to watch Chobits, but my Brit Lit professor already saw me. :( Oh yeah, I'm writing this from the Social Science lab of my school...surprised me, I've been here 3 years and didn't know there was a Social Science computer lab. Funny how those things turn out.

Oh, I'm ordering some more stuff today. Rightstuf.com is having a fantastic combo deal going on right now with Chance Pop Session. The entire series for just $30. The series has been on my want list for awhile and I just can't pass up this deal. I've heard that it's a pretty average anime, but for $30, I'm not expecting perfection...or really anything more than fanservice. I can deal ^_^

Guess I'll try to find time to update this over the weekend while my good friend Wedge is having the time of his life at a Koda Kumi concert...that jerk :(

I hate ordering online
I finally got around to ordering my stuff. I ended up getting the rest of Chobits and FLCL, then 2 dvds of Ai Yori Aoshi. I'm going to order Chance Pop Session from rightstuf on Monday cuz they are selling it for $30, the entire series. And it's on my "want to buy" list anyway, so I don't wanna let it pass me by. After that I think I'm gonna take a break for awhile and save up for March. There's a buncha stuff I want in March, plus it would be nice to grab the first few dvds of Boys over Flowers or the first box set of Maison Ikkoku.

Ooohh...I meant to talk about why I hate online ordering. First off, I don't really mean hate, I'll do it again. I completely understand the stuff that happens, but if I could buy this stuff in stores, I'd do that instead. It might be cheaper online, but it's a serious pain in the butt at the same time. It's just easier to go to a store and buy it for like $10 more...but all we have around here is a FYE that sucks or a Gamestop that's an hour away and sorta kicks butt. Or the Best Buy that's 2 hours away if you are really dedicated.

Soooo...I ordered some stuff for Christmas for my roommate at an online store and they were out of stock. Not a big deal I thought, it'll come back soon. (BTW...it was ramune and pocky...not the rarest things on the planet) Anyway, here it is 5 weeks later and I'm still being notified of the backorder. I finally switched that out this week, got the fifth Battle Royale manga and a Sailor Moon keychain for my roommate. And I went to order my anime on...Wednesday I think. I put the money on my roommate's credit card and I used it. Well, the shipping and mailing addresses are different and it took the store a day to verify that we weren't committing fraud or some crap. So, long story short, I'm not getting my anime until Monday. I mean, I competely understand it, they gotta check on that stuff...and I guess that it is okay to have some pocky on backorder...but still, it's a little frustrating. I don't see how people could prefer online shopping to the store kinda shopping.

Guess I'll have a review of something up next weekend. Hopefully sooner, if you don't mind a review of FLCL or something. There's no way I could watch all of Chobits during the week.

Anyway, see ya later. :)

   The joy of Check Change
I love being on financial aid because you normally get a nice little check that you are supposed to use to buy textbooks with.....that I'm going to spend on booze and anime. :D I picked up a few titles yesterday, the ghetto signature series first DVD of Serial Experiment Lain and the first two DVDs of Someday's Dreamers, which I finally got around to watching today. I don't have a fully created opinion yet, but here's a few notes I have so far about the show.

- The animation is so soft, the colors are very light and gentle. It looks like a lot of cg was used too. I'll have to find out more about that. It looks very nice, especially when Yume uses her magic.
- The English dub has some crappy accents. Sometimes Yume goes into this southern accent that sounds sorta creepily like a West Virginia accent. And don't even get me started on Angela's accent... I don't even understand why the dubbing offices even try, local Japanese accents are just not going to translate. Like on Love Hina, all I wanted to do was kick the tv everytime Kitsune said anything...same thing goes for Someday's Dreamers.
- Why were there only three kids in that class watching the eclipse?
- The show moves a little slow and a new character gets introduced in every episode..sometimes like 3 or 4 characters, I've already forgotten the names of them all.
- Why in God's name would someone get anal if a mage filled their shirt with money?

I'm enjoying SD so far, the soundtrack is nice, although simple. I'm not going to go out of my way and say (..s**t, just got a phone call from my boss, looks like I get to hit OT for like the 3rd week in a row :|) that this is a show everyone would enjoy. I mean, my Mom really liked it. It's soft and slow and sorta cute, with emphasis on the relationships that the characters maintain with one another. I'll have a better review when the third DVD comes out.

Tomorrow I'm going to finally order the rest of Chobits, FLCL, and Ai Yori Aoshi, so I'll try to get a review of one of those by next weekend. I'm sorry I'm not much of an updater, but hey...it's quality over quantity, right? *Just shut up about wisecracks about quality right now :P*
