A short thought
Something I noticed: Is The Harlequin ever going to start the Battle Arena tournament? God, I help arrange that thing a month ago....

If you comment, they will come
Haha, I've just noticed I've gotten around thirty hits these past two weeks, doubling the total for the half-year I've been on myO. I guess it's because I've actually posted comments on other people's sites (mainly James and le Baron), so that's the reason for the title.
In other news, I had my weekly bass lesson today, along with my cello group and after-school-actually getting paid jazz band, but those are entirely different stories. Anywho, I went there, and we started talking for a bit, as we always do. I'm to that level where he can't really teach me anything else, so I'm just hanging out with him during lessons, learning wierd playing styles. He ghetto-rigged my bass so it will play again. The nut that held the inlet of my bass in place came off and lost (bummer), so he took a nut from the inside and fixed me up good.
On the note of ghetto-fying things, I've been thinking about rigging up a guitar so I can have a bass with a wammy-bar. What you do is take a baritone guitar, slap string for a 6-string bass on it, and you're good to go. Now what I need to find is a baritone guitar.....you guys have any?
Anyway, somehow we started getting to talk about human...errr....waste...products. He was talking about the medication he was recieving for his Parkinsons, and he talked about looking at the side effects. Then I made a comment about a joke from Robin William's Live on Broadway. The one about anal leakage? Remember that one? Well, he got started talking about different excuses in school for getting out of class. You know: "Umm...teacher? I'm having a little bout of diarrhea. So if I need to use the bathroom, let me go right away."
Haha, good times.
About that after-school-actually getting paid Jazz Band. We're a good combo size right now. We just got started, so we don't have very many members right now. So, we added a pianist today. She's not really that good, we just asked if she played the piano and stuck her up on the bench. She did pretty good for her first time playing piano in a while. She basically had the same rhythm as my part, so I helped her out a bit. Ah, Moody Blues, I love thy notes, for letting me get so close to one who is so nice on the eyes.....oh, hi. Errr....I'm not drooling. It's normal.....so sexy.

Sex Sex Sex!
So a few days ago I figure out how to play the chorus riff of The Darkness "I Believe in a Thing Called Love". Today I'm watching TV and I hear the song being played. So I look up, thinking to see a video, gadgeing how long it would take to run upstairs to get my bass, go back down, and play along with it. But NO, it's a comercial. So I watch it, thinking I'll go and see it. The comercial was for "The Girl Next Door", where it looks like this high school kid is dating a porn star. Or amatuer one....I don't really give a damn. It looks like the only thing this movie was made for is perverted little kids who want to see some skin. Ok, good target crowd. Lots of people will go and see it. Hell, I know my brother will drag me along. By the way, I should tell him I don't want to feel his abs every time he finished working out.

What if?
Working on an essay for my History class, I started drifting off the subject to other 'what if's?' The assignment's topic was "What would have changed if the first explorers landed on the America's west coast?" This is only talking about the near future after the settling. Think until the pilgrims came over on the Mayflower. It isin't a "Hitler would have never been born" kind of thing. But that got me thinking. What if?
What if Hitler wasn't born? Or what if he died on the front lines of WWI? Having trouble moving away from those artillery shells you used to be so good at avoiding? Well, think of it. Germany, and its people, were still pissed off at the treaty that ended the war. If Hitler wouldn't have come up, maybe WWI would still be thought of as the Great War. Or maybe someone would have come along later when Germany got the atom bomb. Talk about bad. They would go to war, and instead of using their 'big bertha' artillery which had to be moved on a train, they would just bomb Paris with the, to quote Freedom Force, 'power or the atom'.
Now think to yourself, in a way, Hitler did a good thing for the U.S. Don't get me wrong, genocide is a terrible thing. I wish that hadn't have happened. But without the war, the U.S. would have never gotten out of our depression. We would have never gotten the atom bomb. Germany would have taken Europe and then come for us.
Well, just a thought.

Farewell
I am literally in tears as I write this. Annie is gone. She has left to go to train for the Air National Guard. She will be back in seven months. She was my closest friend here on the OB, and I will truly miss her.
Annie: I am blinded without your' light, but you can expect your warm blanket here when you get back.

Jazz is universal
Jazz is a chameleon. It has so many forms that it's mind-boggling. You want smooth? Get an alto sax solo. You want metal style, put a distortion pedal on both the bass and guitar and get the bass player to use slap and pop style. Vocals? No problem.

A drink person.
I believe that everyone has one type of liquid that they absolutely adore. It may even say a lot about their character. Me? I'm a tea person. I drink it with only one sugar cube. Why? I like the flavor.
I think it means that I am sophisticated.
Wow, my ego is coming along nicely.

Otaku Awards
This entire awards thing just seems like a popularity contest. I bet people are just going with who they know. I can say that, because that is what I did too.
I know not of how the Finals will go, but I suggest this. All of the finalists submit(if catagory requires) an example of what they are being voted for.(Banner makers submitting banners, Adventures submitting best post.)
I know this is entirely not do-able in some areas-best sig, best couple- but I only ask if it were treated like an awards screening. Everyone looking at an example so they're not just voting on who they know.
Oh course, that is not entirely possible.
