The land of the....wait, can we start over?
Today was the last day of the band camp.(Insert sad smilie here....wait, that's an oxymoron. Cool!) I didn't get to talk to all the people I wanted to.(wink wink) It's very unfortunate.
We had a bunch of drills today, mostly marching. What am I saying? ALL MARCHING I don't even get to march during the show. I'm in pit. :(
I like marching though!
Meanwhile...
Here's the story behind the title. You all watched the SugarBowl this past winter, didn't you guys? Well, the pre-show singer as the one and only dumbest blonde of them all: Jessica Simpson. During the practice earlier that day, they were taping a recording...just in case.
She was doing just fine. In fact, she's a great vocalist, which makes up for all the hot air. We get to the end. "and the land of the"
She stops
"Can we start over? Sorry guys"
:que about one-thousand sighs:
It blew. She kept on blaming the microphone. Bullcrap!
On one of the published DVDs that a company made about the bands, you can clearly see a now graduated senior from our school, Brad Johnston is his name, checking out the source of our frustration. No, not the microphone.
Also in band camp we watched at DCI show. Just one so the little froshes can see a pro band at work. So we watched Phantom Regiment's show from last year. It's pretty good. They ranked fourth last year. I especially love the chart in their show when the battery is launched into the rest of the band and sends them scattering.
Though I have to stick with my boys: The Cavaliers. I love the cavvies! I believe it was last year when they began and ended in the same formation. It was very cool.
Anyone have any idea what I'm talking about?
